Great stay. No lack of activities, and having the garage is a huge bonus. Will be staying there again!
Weekend at DBB
We had a great time at Dick's Beach Bungalow. It had plenty of room for our needs and was located within a few blocks of the lake, restaurants and night clubs. The owner was so helpful and friendly. Unfortunately, we were only there for the weekend, but we would loved to have stayed a little longer.
Great location and relaxing
Everything was easy to quickly enjoy our stay
2 days of heaven
Owners were great, we didn't ask but they emailed us to let us know we could arrive early and we did. They emailed offen which was very helpful and good communication. Pet friendly, we have a large dog that loves to boat as much as we do. Nice location, easy to access everything we needed in town. We docked our boat in the channel right out the back door of the home. Lake is beautiful, town was laid back, just what we were looking for. We stayed Monday and Tuesday to avoid the weekend and we think we hit a homerun. Small crowds, very few boats on the lake, great food at the Crazy Clam. We actually took a nap between morning and afternoon fishing trips. We can't remember the last time we did that in our nonstop lives. Loved it and will beg to get back there.
Nice property. BUT
The property was nice we used the club house every day for family get together.
Close to your neighbors.
All the beds where uncomfortable I woke up every day with a neck ache and my guest did too and there where only two extra blankets and the nights got cold.
There was no scissors in the cottage and no cutting broad there was one big one It had groves in it made it a pain to cut anything on it. Toilet paper was very thin. And the electric plug in bathroom didn’t work couldn’t plug in blow dryer all the girls had to use the bedroom I was staying in to blow dry their hair.
Hi Amy! Thanks for the feedback. Just want to reply to clarify for future possible renters. Proximity to neighbors is part of the sylvan beach community. The location of Our cottage is actually one of our favorite things about it. It is relatively private compared to most with a much larger than average yard/canal front but still close enough to walk in to town.
I'm sorry to hear of your sleeping difficulties. It's the first complaint we have had, relatively new beds (less than 3 years old) and we get new pillows every year. Cold nights are not fun. Did you happen to try to baseboard heaters? There are Lots of extra blankets in upstairs closet. We will work on a better welcome packet to help make tenants more familiar with the house.
We will add scissors and a different cutting board. Appreciate that feedback, we stock the house with these items the beginning of the year but things often go missing throughout the season.
First roll Toilet paper is a courtesy but we can certainly upgrade brands.
We love our beach house and take a lot of pride in getting to open it up for others to make memories in. Honestly bummed for you these things ruined your stay to a 3/5 and wish we could have improved them for you during your stay.
Also, our bathroom is a complete brand new renovation and we did Stop by to confirm it was a GFI outlet and simply needed to be reset to correct it.
Again, we always give guests three personal cell phone numbers as well as an email to contact us during their stay. Any issues in the future please dont hesitate to call/text/email and we are happy to make it right while you are there. All the best, Kim
About Kim Rheinecker
Dick's Beach Bungalow has a special place in our hearts. Our family took ownership after the passing of our dear friend, Richard "Dick" Seitz. There are three owners, Ron and his wife Gina, Renee and her husband Joey, and Kim and her husband Matt. As a family owned business, our mission is to have our renters share memories in the home and in the Sylvan Beach area, as we have for many years.

Why Kim Rheinecker chose Town of Vienna
Sylvan Beach is a great destination for any group of family or friends. Not only is Sylvan Beach a wonderful summer get away, it's also close to a number of areas that are within a drive able distance. For casino-goers, the Turningstone Casino is 13 miles away and also has on-site restaurants, golf, and a spa. The Bungalow is also less than 30 miles to Syracuse, NY, where you can walk SU's campus, visit downtown restaurants and breweries, and visit one of America's largest Malls (Destiny USA) with shopping and attractions for all ages. For baseball fans, the Baseball Hall of Fame in Cooperstown is a short hour drive away, and for wine enthusiasts, the Finger Lakes wine trail is a little over an hour away. The location makes it a perfect retreat for all! If you are looking for suggestions or have any questions, our family is eager to give you some great ideas during your stay.
