Hwy (the Crow's Nest), through scenic Manning Park to Princeton. The town of Tulameen is located approximately 25 minutes from Princeton. Make sure you turn right at the stop sign at Coalmont road and drive past the old Coalmont Hotel. Once you come to the Tulameen General Store, stay on the main road going North through the town then left along the west side of the lake. You've made it to The Cottonwood!
We purchased this property knowing that it would be a place we could enjoy with our two young boys, as well as extended family and friends for many years to come.
Glen Gorgichuk purchased this house in 2012
We've looked for years for the perfect year round family vacation home that wasn't too far from Vancouver. When we discovered Otter Lake tucked away in the beautiful Similkameen Valley we knew we'd found our place. It's hard to say what season is our favorite. All offer beauty, tranquility and endless adventure.
We're sure you'll love it as much as we do!
The Kettle Valley Railway and Trans Canada Trail run through the area, directly across from our Otter Lake home. Endless adventure and beauty to discover.
This was a very special trip for my family. I was nervous that my expectations for the weekend were too high and I would be disappointed. This was not the case. From the moment we arrived with our three daughters and their families I knew it was going to be wonderful and it was! It is a lovely, well laid out house that had ample room for all of us. It has a well stocked kitchen (although it could use more bowls!!) and tons of room for many of us to be in it at the same time. The living space had lots of seating and the wood burning fireplace kept us cozy warm. With it snowing lightly ( how perfect was that!) we had a fire in the large outside fire pit and roasted hot dogs one day and marshmallows the next. Our grandchildren played outside in the snow for
hours and our son in laws skated on the frozen lake. The bedrooms and beds were very comfortable and we all slept well after our adventure filled days. Thank you.
We hope to visit again in the very near future!!
We arrived at the cabin and were disappointed that the screen doors had not been fixed, the same way as last year, the oven was dirty, the garage door was tricky and not enough toilet paper was supplied, plus the tap in the upstairs bathroom was not working properly. Then there is the fact that the deck where you are hanging out is right above the septic tank. Then a few days after we left we got this nasty email that we would not be allowed to rent again and our deposit was not returned. The most frustrating part was that we wanted to know what the problem was and they would not tell us. I wrote again and mentioned all the cleaning and tidying we had done and still nothing except the fact that we were no longer to communicate. I feel this is unjust and no way to treat people who have rented the cabin for three years and just want to know what went horribly wrong to refuse us to rent again.
Our family had a wonderful week here. The house is beautiful, clean, and stocked with everything you could need. The children, and teenagers loved the basketball hoop. The lake was pristine, and and we all enjoyed exploring it with the kayaks provided. We will definitely be booking again.
We really enjoyed our stay at Cottonwood. It was great for all ages. We loved the big dock where we all could sit and enjoy the water sports. The kids really enjoyed the kayaks. The house was beautiful - very clean and well stocked.
Nice place to stay! Everything is there, if you like boating/fishing or swimming thel ake and 4x4 trails are right there
