About Holly Sheets

This property is owned by Dave and Judy Graham and managed by their daughter Holly. This cottage is our home away from home. We hope you enjoy the coziness of this cottage with its owners original paintings and decor.

Holly Sheets purchased this cottage in 1996

Why Holly Sheets chose South Nags Head

It's a 'true' beach cottage - its not a stark new cottage, but comfortable with lots of personality.

What makes this cottage unique

What makes this cottage so special? It's away from the hustle and bustle of Kill Devil Hills and Kitty Hawk. The beach is rarely, if ever, overcrowded. Having a lifeguard on the beach in front of our cottage is comforting as we get older and have young ones still running the beach. There is also a walking/biking trail that runs for several miles.

Guestbook comments from the owner

We like all the artwork and decorations. We peeked online at the other LG cottages and they were dull. The puzzles were great for the 2 rainy days.

My family and friends had a wonderful time.

Charming beach house just steps from the ocean

  • 5 of 5

Typical “old school” beach house with added “must have” conveniences-washer/dryer, satellite TV and WIFI.

Home is in a quiet area of Nags Head, but very convenient to at least 10 wonderful restaurants.

It’s just a short drive to the north for lots of shopping options as well as the wild horse tours. And just south and over the Bonner Bridge lies several wonderful fishing villages, the Buxton lighthouse and Shelley Island.

Rental is reasonably priced in the Fall. Added bonus —you will have the beaches to yourself on most October weekdays.

Just be sure to purchase travel insurance, as hurricanes can and do hit this area in October.

Homey and Comfortable

  • 4 of 5

As a group of seven ladies who went to college together, this was our second visit to your cottage. We have enjoyed each stay. It has room to be together and to be alone as we choose. We enjoy the colorful paintings and decorations. Would like to have ice more available.

Depending on the weather, we enjoy the outdoor spaces and the short walk to the beach. We have only been to the cottage in the Fall, and it is never crowded. Thanks for sharing your cottage with us.

The home was very well equipped and comfortable for the 8 people we had staying. Didn't want for or need anything by way of creature comforts.

Great beach cottage

  • 4 of 5

Cottage is in a great location, beach is right there. Cottage is in between Jennettes Pier and Fishhead's. Plenty of space with a great outside deck and upper deck. Quick to respond and very easy to work with! Perfect for a girls week!

Fishing on the banks was forever changed when the first fishing pier – Jennette’s Pier – was opened in Nags Head back in 1939.

in September 2003, Hurricane Isabel swept the North Carolina coast, knocking down about 540 feet of Jennette’s Pier and practically shutting down an Outer Banks institution. It then became time to rethink the fishing pier concept, with the Aquariums taking the lead to rebuild Jennette’s as an all-concrete, 1,000-foot-long, educational ocean pier.

Within walking distance from the cottage, Jennette's Pier is a must-see attraction.

The Outer Banks Pier is 1.1 miles south of the cottage and in the opposite direction is Jennettes Pier .8 of a mile. It is an older landmark pier that has an original beach feeling.

The Outer Banks pier offers, Fish Heads Bar and Grill, www.fishheadsobx.com, that serves beer or wine, fried seafood baskets and much more. There is music every night during the warm months. It's a great little getaway after a long day on the beach.

Also don't forget the outdoor drama of the 'Lost Colony' in Manteo. First staged in 1937, The Lost Colony it is the nation’s premier and longest-running symphonic drama. Written by Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright Paul Green.
