You will enjoy direct access to one of the best stretches of beach in Nags Head that is far less crowded and quiet. The wide sand beaches of South Nags Head are some of the cleanest beaches on the Outer Banks. Come relax, read a book, sunbathe, or enjoy the soothing sounds of the ocean.

This property is owned by Dave and Judy Graham and managed by their daughter Holly. This cottage is our home away from home. We hope you enjoy the coziness of this cottage with its owners original paintings and decor.
Holly Sheets purchased this cottage in 1996
It's a 'true' beach cottage - its not a stark new cottage, but comfortable with lots of personality.
What makes this cottage so special? It's away from the hustle and bustle of Kill Devil Hills and Kitty Hawk. The beach is rarely, if ever, overcrowded. Having a lifeguard on the beach in front of our cottage is comforting as we get older and have young ones still running the beach. There is also a walking/biking trail that runs for several miles.

We like all the artwork and decorations. We peeked online at the other LG cottages and they were dull. The puzzles were great for the 2 rainy days.
My family and friends had a wonderful time.
Exactly what we were looking for! I ran in the OBX marathon and needed a place to stay for a long weekend that could accommodate my whole family. This house was perfect!
Unable to get on island because of Hurricane Matthew.
This cottage was sooo close to the beach. It was close to the Bodie lighthouse, Oregon inlet harbor, with in a few minutes of all the places you would want to eat. The cottage was plenty big enough. It would have been nice had there been a few of the basics: toilet paper etc. but we would happily stay there again!!
The location was great ! Enjoyed all the art work, the cottage was comfortable and had everything needed . Would stay there again . I
When we found Laughing Gull 2 we were so excited!!! A cute beach cottage with an eclectic decor just steps away from the beach!! We were in contact with a woman named Holly, who is mentioned to be the owner's daughter.
Holly was quick to respond to our few inquiries. I even asked if we could check in earlier and Holly mentioned she would speak with her cleaning crew and to just let her know when we arrived (we ended up checking-in at 4pm anyway). She seemed to be very accommodating.
We had a wonderful vacation at this cottage. The were plenty rooms to accommodate 4 adults and 3 children and a small baby. The cottage was literally steps to the ocean and super convenient to stores along the main highway.
Half of our crew left early, the other half checked out at 11am despite the cleaning lady showing up 2hrs early trying to get us out of the house!!! We politely reminded her that we had until 11am to check out, so she stated that she would "sit in the car" (in the driveway) and wait. - We thought that was strange.....
We cleaned up the house, thanks to the vacuum and broom and random cleaning supplies, took out all garbage (as requested in the rules) and put all the dishes in the washer. When we asked the cleaning lady if she would like us to put the dishes away, she mentioned that they were fine to be left clean in the dishwasher as she would handle it herself. All the comforters were folded on the bed and the rooms left how we found them.
I was very surprised to receive a horrible review from Holly - OUT OF NOWHERE???? - She said our communication was bad, we did not follow her rules, we did not clean and the over all experience was not good. I've asked Holly if we did the following: Paid in full on time | Quick and clear communication | Speaking with the housekeeper before leaving who approved of cleaning job we did before we left | Did not break/damage anything why would we receive this review - no response
Holly will not answer our email as she once did promptly and will not give a reason for this BOGUS rating because she knows it is FALSE. I'm not sure why she would do that after we had such a wonderful time at her beach cottage and have been nothing but cordial to her and respectful of the property. We previously spoke about staying here again next year, but will NEVER CONSIDER this cottage again due to the surprisingly UNFAIR RATING.
MY ADVICE IF YOU RENT HERE - WAIT FOR HER REVIEW BEFORE SUBMITTING YOURS - SHE'LL TRICK YOU.
We had a wonderfully, relaxing time at Laughing Gull 2. It was so comfortable, especially the beds. We all enjoyed the easy walk to the beach, just over the steps beyond the sand dune and the guarded beach was beautiful.
Our teens loved being able to walk to two piers and did so daily, several times in the early evening. We felt totally comfortable allowing them that privilege.
Your colorfully decorated beach cottage was very welcoming and we also appreciated being able to ask questions of you personally.
The kitchen was equipped with everything possible, including some cooking and cleaning supplies. Very Helpful. The screen porch and decks were an added bonus and I was even able to catch the sun rising from there our last morning.
Although we usually travel with our pug we managed to survive the week without her.
I Suggest some clothes pins for hanging stuff on the clothes line. (Sometimes too breezy without suits blowing away)
Thanks also for the extras in the bathrooms and kitchen.
The wooden walk from the outdoor shower was great, a real plus.
We'd love to go back again. It was beautiful and relaxing there.
Fishing on the banks was forever changed when the first fishing pier – Jennette’s Pier – was opened in Nags Head back in 1939.
in September 2003, Hurricane Isabel swept the North Carolina coast, knocking down about 540 feet of Jennette’s Pier and practically shutting down an Outer Banks institution. It then became time to rethink the fishing pier concept, with the Aquariums taking the lead to rebuild Jennette’s as an all-concrete, 1,000-foot-long, educational ocean pier.
Within walking distance from the cottage, Jennette's Pier is a must-see attraction.
The Outer Banks Pier is 1.1 miles south of the cottage and in the opposite direction is Jennettes Pier .8 of a mile. It is an older landmark pier that has an original beach feeling.
The Outer Banks pier offers, Fish Heads Bar and Grill, www.fishheadsobx.com, that serves beer or wine, fried seafood baskets and much more. There is music every night during the warm months. It's a great little getaway after a long day on the beach.
Also don't forget the outdoor drama of the 'Lost Colony' in Manteo. First staged in 1937, The Lost Colony it is the nation’s premier and longest-running symphonic drama. Written by Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright Paul Green.
