The Margaretha is a fantastic 74 feet motor yacht laying in the Beautiful Port Forum in Barcelona. There are various spacious decks that provide lots of space for sunbathing and drinking cocktails. Instead of watching TV in a boring hotel room after a long day of sight seeing and exploring, your day just starts when you come aboard of the Margaretha! It’s like being on a quiet island in the middle of a vibrant city. Outside we created a fantastic kitchen with a perfect grill for shrimps etc, connected to a big lounge area. With 100sqm interior area, you have all the comfort that you have in a house yet you are on a yacht in a beautiful marina. Inside you find 2 spacious lounges with a great music system and television and DVD. You will find a well equipped kitchen here as well.
Private Harbour Police (24 hrs a day) guarantees your safe haven!.
Free parking space for 1 car.
Barcelona: One of the most popular European destinations, Barcelona is a minute away. Barcelona is Spain's most cosmopolitan city and is best known for its Gaudi architecture, pulsating night life and avenues for strolling along.
There is plenty of family fun, with an excellent aquarium, IMAX cinema and shopping malls. Only 45 minutes away is Port Aventura, the second biggest theme park in Europe. Set up by Universal Studios, it has one of the fastest roller coasters and rides for all ages.
The yacht was the perfect base for our family when we stayed 3 days in Barcelona at the end of our summer holidays in Spain. A very charming and elegant way of living - quite opposite from a noisy and busy city hotel. We were a family of four - plenty of space to strech out and even entertain guests for drinks&dinner in the evening. The kids totally loved the place - actually hard to bring them along to our planned city visits and sights. On the negative side....? Well, she is placed in Port Forum which turned out to be a quite "dead" area and with taxi distance to the city, You can take the tram/underground, however somewhat cumbersome. The yacht is not luxurious or impeccable, it you require that. She is 30 years old and with a lot of charm!
It was a nice boat. The website indicated that it was air-conditioned and that was not the case. WiFi was not working. There was no one to receive we arrived.
Ons verblijf was top! Met 8 vriendinnen hebben wij een geweldige tijd gehad. 4 goede slaapkamers! Prachtig achterdek, heerlijk voordek. Top vakantie.
We spent a lovely week at the Margaretha in July 2014.
Margarethea contains several lovely cabins and a fantastic outdoor well equipped kitchen, where you have plenty of opportunities to cook food and enjoy quiet evenings in Port Forum.
Port Forum is not interesting, but it is easy to get from Port Forum into the city center, with the underground or tram. (10 -15 minutes walk.
Marbella Beach is 20-25 minuts walk away.
I booked this for a group of 7 friends and it slept all of us comfortably. With the combination of the deck and the interior communal areas there is more than enough room, and we found it a far more enjoyable experience than just staying in an apartment. The whole group were excited to stay on the boat and it didn't disappoint. Servais (the owner) was kind enough to stock the fridge with a couple of bottles of Cava on arrival, which served as a great start to a fantastic weekend. Needless to say, come the end of the visit we didn't want to leave!
The Margaretha has all the facilities you'd expect from a decent holiday apartment, but it also has the advantage of being on a yacht! We were really surprised by how roomy it was, with 7 adults we all had plenty of space.
The place was well-kept and clean with plenty of cups/plates/cutlery etc. in the kitchen and even a few cans of cervesa in the fridge when we arrived (definitely needed after a long trip from Ireland!)
The location is a little out of the city centre (this can be a good thing!), but it is clean, modern and safe with lots of shopping, and transport options available close by. The Marina at Port Forum is really secure and well-laid out and organised. There are extra showers and toilets provided on dry land (in addition to whats on the boat) and they are clean and well-managed.
The best part of staying on the yacht is the deck area- theres an outdoor lounge at the stern (!) with a mini-kitchen and fridge (we used it to make breakfast pancakes!) in addition to the proper kitchen inside. Its a great feeeling to wake up in the morning and wander up to the deck for a bit of breakfast in the sun, especially compared to waking up in an apartment in the heat with no outdoor space!
We all thought it was really good value and Servais, the owner, was really friendly and accomodating. We can't wait for next time!
