3 Bedroom, 2 Bath with decks to enjoy the Mountian Views

Welcome to Wind Cave Cabin!! Located on one of the highest points in the Southern Black Hills, you will find breathtaking views (you can actually see 30+ miles to Nebraska), picturesque beauty, deep ravines and rock outcroppings.

This wonderful three level vacation hot spot rests on 20 acres at the address of 26853 US Highway 385. You will see natural wild life including elk, deer, buffalo and turkey right from the front deck. Privacy galore and very close to historic Hot Springs just 5 miles to town all pavement. In Hot Springs, enjoy the unique shops, sandstone buildings, the world famous Mammoth Site (an active dig of the ancient Woolly Mammoth), warm mineral waters at Evans Plunge, and a world class 18 hole Golf Course. Southern Hills Golf Course is a short undulating course that will have you using every club in your bag. Southern Hills Golf Course is a well-rounded combination of playability and aesthetic appeal that makes your golf game more enjoyable than any other course. Native Mule deer, wild turkey and cottontail rabbits abound around the course...and the occasional sighting of the wiley red-tail fox interact with the rolling terrain, ravines and majestic Ponderosa Pines at Southern Hills Golf Course.

Close to all the attractions of the Black Hills: Mt. Rushmore, Crazy Horse, The Wild Horse Sanctuary, Custer State Park, Black Hills Playhouse, Jewel Cave and Wind Cave, to name just a few.

After a long, hard day come home and relax in our 6 person hot tub nestled in the trees. If hot tubing is not your thing, relax on one of the many decks with incredible 360 degree views of the Southern Black Hills. Tame your hunger while enjoying the covered patio with an outdoor eating area and large BBQ grill.

Inside, a state of the art heat pump keeps you cool in the summer and warm in the winter. The kitchen and dining area have great views and come fully stocked with dishes, silverware, pots and pans, coffee maker, toaster, blender, plus all the major appliances-refrigerator, stove and microwave. The Great Room has plenty of seating, windows, satellite receiver, DVR and big screen TV. The downstairs family room has all the amenities of home including a satellite receiver, DVR, big screen TV, Nintendo Wii gaming system (with games or bring your own) and a DVD player. Stay connected with wireless internet throughout.

Three bedrooms that include the loft all with queen beds will sleep six. Additional sleeping areas will accommodate air beds (provided). The master bedroom on the main floor includes a queen bed, deck with a view, and bathroom. The second bedroom on the lower level also has a queen bed and bath across the hall. The loft bedroom with queen bed has envious views of the Southern Black Hills. The two baths are fully stocked with towels and basic toiletries. You have your own laundry with full sized washer and dryer for your use.

A perfect Sturgis Rally rental, included is a huge garage and lots of trailer parking. Come visit Wind Cave Cabin. I think you will agree, this is the perfect Black Hills get away.

Perfect!

  • 4 of 5

We had a large party of 4 adults and 4 children. We loved the homey atmosphere and location. Perfect for our needs to visit family and sights. We saw lots of bison and other creatures and many beautiful sunsets. The kids enjoyed the games as the adults enjoyed conversation. Try Dales, in Hot Springs for a good meal - great sizes and affordable prices. We really enjoyed our stay and will look to rent again when we come to visit!

Beautiful views

Very nice home with beautiful views. Close to attractions, yet away from crowds and noise. House is just like pictures show and having a full kitchen and laundry was very nice. We loved the deck for viewing the mule deer, elk, and birds.

Priceless Views

  • 5 of 5

Perfect cabin to explore South Dakota. Perfectly located to see all the attractions with not much travel time. The views from the front porch were amazing (watched a storm roll in and also saw the end of a rainbow). The kids loved to explore the yard and climb the rock cliffs. The owner and site manager were great to work with as well! Thank you for sharing your home and making our stay in South Dakota memorable.

Perfect for families!

  • 5 of 5

What a lovely place! The view from the porch was magnificent! Everything was clean and comfortable. All the comforts of home. My teenaged daughter loved having the loft bedroom to herself and our elementary aged so loved beating everyone at air hockey. While in Hot Springs our family enjoyed the tour of the Black Hills Wild Horse Sanctuary, Wind Cave, and the Mammoth center. We had breakfast at Mornin' Sunshine (twice) and lunch at the Dew Drop Inn. Both were delicious! We took advantage of having a full kitchen and picked up dinner at the local grocery store so we could relax after our sightseeing days. We also took a day trip to Crazy Horse, Rushmore, and The 1880 Train from Hill City to Keystone and back. Everything was great! Our family had a wonderful time in South Dakota! Thank you so much for your hospitality! Oh, and the kids really got a kick out of seeing the rabbits around the property! Too cute!

Perfect Cabin for a perfect vacation with friends and family

  • 5 of 5

This was our first time using VRBO and we couldn't be happier. This cabin was everything it said it was and more. It fit all 8 of us very comfortably and still had lots of room. The views were beyond amazing and the cabin was spotless and had everything we needed. It was the perfect home base to see all the sites in the Black Hills. I would highly recommend this cabin to all my friends and family or anyone else looking for a great place to stay in the Black Hills. Would love to come back again. Thank you!!!

Beautiful and well supplied cabin

  • 4 of 5

Everything in the cabin is high quality, from the furniture to the beds to the kitchen. The full kitchen is very well stocked with everything you need to cook your own meals and make your own coffee and tea. We really enjoyed our stay at the cabin and we would recommend it to others. The Southern Black Hills where the prairie meets the forest is just beautiful and maybe under-appreciated as the area gets a lot less traffic than Custer SP and the Northern Hills. Wind Cave National Park has many miles of great hiking trails with lots of opportunity to see wildlife.

The cabin is close to Hwy 385 which makes it very convenient to get to town and to Wind Cave National Park. You can hear regular traffic from the porch, so the cabin doesn't quite have the feel of getting far from civilization, but it is not loud and not bothersome.

Close to all the attractions of the Black Hills including Mt. Rushmore and just a few minutes drive on pavement to Hot Springs. The House borders Wind Cave Park with cave tours, incredible wild life including buffalo, elk, deer, eagles and prairie dogs. Many of these animals you will see right from the house depending on the season. It is a Short drive to Custer State Park, Angostura Reservoir and The Wild Horse Sanctuary. These all have good web sites so be sure to check them out. Hot Springs has everything you will need, grocery stores, restaurants, discount stores, unique shopping, warm water spas, golf, and historic sandstone buildings. The town is safe and beautiful just 4 miles from the house on pavement. Check out my favorite, The Mammoth Site (an ongoing archaeological dig of the Woolly Mammoth) Also in Hot Springs is Evans Plunge a natural hot water, Water Park.
