About Jan

Steve and I love Cornwall. We enjoy welcoming guests to Driftwood and to suggest places of interest to visit. The Cornish coastline is spectacular with impressive beaches and quaint fishing harbours.

Why Jan chose Newquay & St Austell

Driftwood is ideally situated to explore the North and South coast. Lostwithiel's shops/restaurants are downhill from the apartment.

What makes this apartment unique

Quiet situation with parking. We have designed the pretty garden to allow guests a quiet sunny space with seating and BBQ.

A great place for two

  • 5 of 5

Lovely homely place for two.spotlessly clean, very well equipped, large comfortable bed, good quality towels and bedding.Nice surroundings, lovely garden and a nice little private bbq area to have a G and T and talk the day over,Jan greeted us very warmly, and gave us a very welcome hamper and a lovely Cornish cream tea. Quite a hilly walk into Lostwitheil, but really good places to eat, and a very interesting castle, Perfect position for seeing NT properties ,Heligan and the coastal towns.

A GEM IN THE CROWN OF LOSTWITHIEL

  • 5 of 5

Excellent, spotless apartment, ideally located to visit/sightsee the many attractions in Cornwall. The Eden Project visit was really very good.Several good restaurants, in

Lostwithiel, but our lunch at The Globe very disappointing. We would recommend Driftwood ,the facilities, the welcome hamper and our hosts were first class.

Perfect spring break!

  • 5 of 5

This little apartment was the best ever! Spotlessly clean with gorgeous white bed linen and towels - also beach towels provided! The welcome card, flowers and superb hamper gave a lovely personal touch. Quiet location yet easy walk into town for shops and eating out. We chose the location to enable us to visit friends and family out of season thus avoiding the summer crowds. Visited Heligan and Fowey. We love Cornwall! Warm sunshine nearly every day was an added bonus to a wonderful holiday.

Short Break in Driftwood

  • 5 of 5

We had a lovely 3 night stay at this delightful accommodation. The property was better than expected and spotlessly clean. Very well equipped and bedding linen and towels of excellent quality. Ideally situated for touring central Cornwall, and the rest isn't that far away. The town is a short walk away, although the walk back up the hill is steep and could be a challenge for the less able. Plenty of places to eat and drink, with preference being the closest pub, The Royal Oak, although they didn't provide food on Monday evenings, when we were there. Maybe different in peak season.

Fabulous!

  • 5 of 5

Just a few miles away from the Eden Project itself, Driftwood is a true Eden! The apartment is exceptionally clean, warm, stylishly decorated, spacious and well equipped; and the welcome-hamper of essential (and local!) foods is a nice touch to ease one into one's holiday. The huge bed is wonderfully comfortable, and the guest house is in a quiet location, so we slept like a pair of logs!

Jan and Steve are very friendly, welcoming and helpful, but not intrusive.

The apartment is only a few minutes' walk from the town centre with pubs, restaurants, supermarkets and the train station at hand. The views of the surrounding hills and valleys are breathtaking, and the sea is also a short drive away.

The whole experience was marvellously relaxing and restorative - we will be going back in the summer.
