Contemporary, beautifully finished ground floor 1 bed self-catering apartment with courtyard, decking, patio furniture, BBQ & vehicle parking. Situated 5Km east of the world heritage city of Bath in Batheaston village. Ideal retreat for couple or young family.

Situated just outside Bath in a conservation area and within 100m of the River Avon, the 1890 property belies the stunning contemporary interior. Compact but perfectly formed, the space has been designed with great care and sociable living in mind. Everything you could need in a clean, simple package. The living area combines lounge, dining and kitchen in one seamless space. Access is to the rear of the property via a lovely courtyard, part decked, part gravelled with imaginatively planted borders and parking for 1 vehicle. There is a BBQ and patio furniture with parasol for those lazy summer days.

Nearby Pubs/Resturants: There are two gorgeous settings for a lovely meal, the Bathampton Mill is on the River Avon, with seasonal water taxi's taking you to and from Bath City Centre. Bathampton Mill is a stunning location and fantastic food. Further along the road you will find The George perfect for refreshments after a walk along the Kennet & Avon Canal one way leads to Bath City Centre, the other to Bradford on Avon. The canal is a relaxing way to spend the day strolling along enjoying the countryside, Canal Barge's and wildlife. You can reach these places either by foot a mile up the road or by car. Either way you wont be disappointed in the delights Batheaston has to offer. A real must to visit!!

There are also some closer, more basic pubs, offering pub grub and live entertainment.

Notes:
The polished porcelain tiles throughout the apartment are underfloor heated giving a comfortable environment all year round. The living area has a contemporary chaise lounge, Freeview TV and DVD Player. To one corner there is a black glass table with stainless steel legs and seating for four. All the lighting is dimmable and the dining lights can be pulled down over the table to create the perfect ambiance. The sharp white kitchen is fully equipped with dishwasher, fridge, double oven, 5 ring hob and extractor hood and all the utensils, pots & pans, cutlery, crockery and glass ware you could need. There is also a utility room with iron and ironing board, small freezer, washing machine and separate tumble dryer. The exterior courtyard is a real sun trap and has the advantage of some fantastic views of the surrounding country side, a great place to relax and unwind with a glass of wine and a barbecue. Car parking is on road for larger cars, smaller cars can park off road at the rear.

Excellent accommodation and well situated

We wanted an apartment, which was outside Bath but, within easy reach of the city and the canal. This accommodation gave us all of this plus there were several very nice eating places close by.

Great location for exploring Bath and surrounding area.

Used bus to see all the interesting sights in Bath. Especially loved the Abbey. Visited National Trust properties in a radius of Bath. Enjoyed it.

What a Gem

The cottage lived up to all our expectations, a modern 1 bedroom cottage where everything was catered for. Dishwasher, washing machine, tumble dryer, wifi, and more . Very modern, and comfortable, a great base for Georgian Bath and the surrounding area.

We did not use our car once whilst we were there, excellent public transport links or a steady 45-60 minute walk into bath.

The owner Andrew was very friendly, they lived upstairs, after introductions and answering any questions regarding the cottage or the local area, we never saw him again, though he was at the end of the telephone should he be needed.

Good facilities in the village an excellent shop for basic items and 2 local pubs, there are bigger pubs within walking distance offering meal, along with an excellent restaurant in the Old Mill Hotel.

Would recommend this cottage to copules who want a relaxing holiday but also want to explore the area.

The small historic city of Bath nestles, like a gem, in a network of valleys on the River Avon, where you're never more than a mile or two from lush countryside. The west country region has the most gorgeous and evocative English Countryside, there are many beautiful villages, towns and stately homes to explore, not to mention ancient history of Stonehenge and Avebury dating back.

The Roman Baths and New Thermae Spa give World Heritage Bath more than just a visual feast of world class architecture such as Bath Abbey, The Royal Crescent and Pump Rooms. A diverse city, Bath boasts great shopping, pubs, clubs and restaurants, you could easily lose several days exploring its many facets from Bohemia to high society.

Batheaston village is just 2 miles from Bath running alongside the river Avon. There are lovely walks along the Kennet and Avon canal, which will take you directly into Bath or you could take the river taxi into town from The Bathampton Mill gastro pub just up the road.
