About Lene Spies

I'm a graphic designer working in a magazine - but also doing a little bit of freelance graphics, photography and travel writing. I've lived in my apartment for more than 20 years :-)

My 3 children - Sofie, Kasper and Rikke - go to school nearby ... It's a nice and safe area.

We love the city and use all it offers with great pleasure. Running around the Copenhagen lakes (5 minutes walk away) - going to Tivoli, the pedestrian, cafes and restaurants with nice food from all over ... Sushi, Mexican, Indian, Thai, French ...

Cycling around in Copenhagen is very easy - if you like to walk a lot - this is the perfect place. And the public transport is well-functioning (a bit expensive though)

Enjoy the city with beautiful canal tours, sightseeing busses, museums, malls, history, architecture and design ... So much to see :-)

Lene Spies purchased this apartment in 1995

Why Lene Spies chose Frederiksberg C

It's perfect for families ... Small but cosy ;-) Nice and safe area in Copenhagen.

I have just renovated my "upstairs" - new beds, furniture, paint and carpet in 2016 ... The kitchen and the lounge downstairs was totally renovated in 2013.

This is NOT a party-place. No smoking. And no shoes on beyond the entrance pls. so I can keep my home nice :-)

What makes this apartment unique

Central and quiet at the same time!

Lene's place was great for me and my family to stay for a few days in Copenhagen.

  • 5 of 5

The apartment had everything we needed. Comfy beds, a nice kitchen, quiet neighbourhood. It's not located right in the center, but we liked being in a "real" neighbourhood instead of in the more tourist area. Also it's a 5-7 minute walk from the metro and we never waited more than 3 minutes for the metro to come. Highly recommended.

A WONDERFUL HOME BASE FOR OUR VISIT TO COPENHAGEN...

  • 5 of 5

We traveled to Copenhagen as three college friends for a weeklong visit, and found this residence to be charming, safe, comfortable, central, accessible to the metro, and very welcoming! The property is modern and updated, top-quality appliances and comfortable beds and linens. Lene was a wonderful hostess, and although she was out of town while we were visiting, she was in communication by email throughout our visit - offering suggestions and answering questions as they arose. We had wonderful wifi access and friendly neighbors in the 4-plex. VERY highly recommend this property!!

The apartment was perfect for our needs--great location and everything was new and clean.

  • 5 of 5

There were three of us so we each had our own room. The neighborhood was very quiet and pretty close to the Metro. We were very pleased with our experience.

Wonderful place in Copenhagen

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful stay at Lene's apartment. She was incredibly responsive to all of our questions. The location was perfect; an easy walk to the Metro and in a great neighborhood. The apartment itself is lovely and had everything we wanted. We had a great experience. Thank you!

The apartment was better in person than the photos.

  • 5 of 5

I am looking for these things in this type of rental: Location, cleanliness, plenty of hot water for showers, comfortable beds and quiet. This place provided all of that and more. It is in a very peaceful and safe neighborhood that is walking distance to almost all of Copenhagen. There is a nice variety of restaurants and shops nearby. The apartment was recently renovated and looks better even than the photos. Lene did a very nice job making the apartment both a home for her family and a great space for renters. She provides ample closet space and places to put your personal items so that you can really feel that you live there during your stay. Lene is also a pleasure in person and was very thoughtful about providing amenities like coffee and information about the area. We loved our stay at her apartment and would book it again if we ever return to Copenhagen. The Danish people are wonderful. They are all very happy and they all speak English. Hot tip: walk until you are worn out, then Uber back! This was very convenient and allowed us a lot of freedom to explore. Enjoy your visit to Copenhagen!

Owner's Response: Wow :-) I am so pleased that you loved your stay here, and in Copenhagen. Thank you so much for the very nice words. It's great to have guests in my home that take good care of it, leave it so nice and even water my flowers ;-)

Car: not necessary

My home is located 1 mile from the Copenhagen City Hall and the famous pedestrian "Strøget" (among the oldest and longest in the world). You can go for all the classic tourist sights and places in the Danish capital ... and/or you can live like the danes live, and explore the more authentic neighborhoods of Copenhagen ... by foot or by bike. Copenhagen have electric citybikes with gps, that you can rent for approx. 3 $ an hour ... there is a docking station 5 minutes walk from my apartment - at Forum Metro station. Get on the bike and see so much more of the city. We have bike-paths most places - so you feel pretty safe driving around. I don't have a car ... I always cycle to work.

Here's some text about the bikes from https://bycyklen.dk/en/

To rent a bike, you need to create a user account. You can also create an account directly on the tablet.

Go to a docking station and take out a bike by entering your username and pin code on the bike’s tablet. Here you can see the number of available bikes and, if you like, you can book a bike in advance.

The bike has an electric motor and will assist you up to 22 km/h. A full battery should last you a couple of hours depending on your riding style.

You can return the bike to any of the docking stations in Copenhagen and Frederiksberg. The tablet will guide you to the nearest one.

The lock on the rear wheel enables you to park the bike anywhere during your trip. The hourly payment continues until the bike is safely returned to a docking station.

The price is DKK 25/hour with a regular user account, and DKK 6/hour with a monthly subscription (monthly fee DKK 70). The payment happens automatically once you have registered your credit card.
