This is a comfortable, classic 1940s cabin in the Puget Sound community of Hansville, Washington. It is just a short walk to the historic Point No Point Lighthouse, the oldest lighthouse on Puget Sound, home to the U.S. Lighthouse Society. The lighthouse park has miles of sandy beach, picnic tables, hiking trails and views of Mt. Baker, the Cascades and shipping traffic. Fish, crab & fly your kite from the beach.

The cabin has two bedrooms, both with queen size beds, two bathrooms, one with a bathtub/shower and a queen size sleeper sofa in the livingroom. One bedroom & bath have a separate entrance for privacy. The cabin has a fully equipped kitchen with a propane stove/oven, microwave oven & dishwasher, a stone fireplace (propane), basic cable tv, a DVD player, a stereo, a propane BBQ, a large deck with a picnic table that seats 6 and a washer & dryer and free wifi.

Basic condiments, spices, linens, hair dryer, iron & ironing board, laundry & dish soap are provided. 2 night minimum October 1st to Memorial Day weekend. 3 night minimum during the Summer.

Because one of the bedrooms and bathrooms and the living, dining and kitchen areas of the house are up a flight of stairs, it might not be accessible to guests with mobility issues.

Please Note: This is a non-smoking property. There is no smoking allowed in the cottage, on the decks or on the grounds.

Instantly felt like home

  • 5 of 5

The moment we walked in the cabin, we felt like we were home and the moment we met Christy and Rick, they felt like old friends we had not seen in a long time. The cabin was clean, comfortable, and equipped with everything we needed and more. Our grandchildren loved having the beach just across the street. We loved our stay and are planning to return.

Repeat at the Beach

  • 4 of 5

Our second time around for Thanksgiving week at this great place! Never a dull moment with places to see and exciting weather. Everything was done perfectly and all worked well. Only exception, and typical this time of year, was the power failure mid-week. After a few hours, back in business.

Must say the hospitality was like nowhere to be found, especially boiled, cracked, and served with some vintage white. Had a most memorable meal with the power out and the propane fireplace on. Thanksgiving was without incident, drat (LOL). Looking forward to a return in warmer weather and very little wind and rain. But we'll miss some of it!

Owner's Response: We're so glad you enjoyed Thanksgiving at the beach. Glad to hear that the reduction of a star was due to Mother Nature and not the cottage. November is always our wild weather month out here at the beach. Fortunately the propane fireplace keeps the cottage cozy. Looking forward to your return visit in May!

My stay at Hansville

  • 5 of 5

We had a great time and Christy and Rick are just wonderful. The house was so cute, clean and comfortable. The weather was great and it was just a few minute walk to the lighthouse and beach where we took our dogs a couple of times a day. We can't wait to come back!

an excellent home base

  • 5 of 5

I manage a survey crew who was going to be working at The Point Casino for a few weeks. We rented this home for our field crew to use because of it's reasonable price and it's being so close to the Casino. We were there for about three weeks. The house was perfect for us, the owners were always wanting to make sure we were comfortable and sent periodic reminders that if we needed anything at all to just let them know. We didn't need anything but it sure was nice to have that offer. The kitchen was well stocked. Heck, the whole house was well stocked. Very convenient to have the washer and dryer there with the detergent/dryer sheets etc. Bring your food and everything else is there waiting for you.

The house was perfect. One of the bedrooms is downstairs with it's own separate outside entrance and that privacy and separation was very nice for us.

The instant on fireplace was a nice comfort after a long day working in the cold rainy winter.

If we have reason to stay in this area again we will be staying at this place.

Turkey Day at the beach!

  • 5 of 5

It’s said, “better than advertised,” and no kidding! Though small, clean, and compact, it’s very efficiently done and exceptionally furnished for the Thanksgiving week we stayed. A great place to lose track of time, so to speak. From the super-soft beds to the completely furnished kitchen, nothing was amiss or not to be found. Dishwasher, clothes washer and dryer, and all other appliances were there and ready for use. For wintertime use, the well-insulated structure has a great propane fireplace with fan and baseboard heating in all rooms. Everything structural is less than a decade old, so no surprises arise. Huge windows allow for views everywhere, including the busy shipping lanes on the water seen between the houses. The downstairs bedroom is detached with a separate entrance but private and comfortable. Everything to see and experience that the beach offers is within walking distance or a short drive away. Winter storms were a blast, literally, while watching monster whitecaps at the lighthouse park or the old Hansville fishing resort, now a local park. The surrounding area is exceptionally quiet and neighbors watch out for neighbors. Superb value for a rental with attentive, conscientious owners wanting great and lasting results. A return visit? Really be foolish to say “no
