About Donna Dillman
For four decades, your hostess, Donna Dillman, has been an entrepreneur, having owned and managed a pet store, a B&B and guest house, (10 minutes north of the current location) a general store and a farm. In 1999, she began working as an energy healer, leading to her becoming a Reiki Master and to her work as a life coach. In 2007, Donna found herself fasting for 68 days in protest of uranium drilling in Robertsville. She walked the Camino, in norther Spain in 2010. More recently, she supported her partner, Cam Allen, in the renovation of the former Circa 1894 Church, where they now live and where the B&B is located, as well as in the construction of the newly added Day Spa.
Donna Dillman purchased this Bed And Breakfast in 2013
Why Donna Dillman chose Lanark Highlands
Donna's partner, Cam Allen, a home inspector and retired builder, needed a project! We purchased and renovated a former United Church, turning it into a showpiece that we are thrilled to share with our B&B guests as they dine. Having moved in, in September of 2013, we quickly began renovations to the former Sunday School/Education Room, which is where the B&B Rose Room is now located. Cam envisioned, designed and built Circa 1894 Day Spa and the three levels of decking that add about 1,000 sq. ft. of outdoor living space.
What makes this Bed And Breakfast unique
Where else can you B&B in a former church and also enjoy Spa amenities. We live here and I feel like I am on holiday all the time. Come join me and pamper yourself with all Circa 1894 has to offer.

Relaxing and perfect!
We rode 95 km from Ottawa and spent one night as a stop over before we headed home. We were absolutely delighted with the accommodations and spa. Donna and Cam are exceptional hosts. We prebooked dinner and were treated to top notch Master Chef soup, dinner and dessert. The hot tub was exactly what we needed to recover from our ride. Breakfast fueled us for our morning ride. We didn't at all mind sharing space with another couple. We didn't hear them at night and enjoyed their company at breakfast. This is a unique personalized spa opportunity. Great for couples or a girls over nighter. Its not a long drive from Ottawa. Give it a try!
We are so glad that the two of you enjoyed your stay after biking all that way. It is always a delight to host people who take advantage of and appreciate all the B&B and Spa have to offer. Indeed, our location, just one hour from downtown Ottawa, is ideal for a getaway of any sort. A lovely drive, too, especially in the Fall when the colours are at their peak. We look forward to seeing you again down the road, whatever your mode of transportation.
Circa 1894 B&B and Guest House is located in the Sunday School portion of a newly renovated former United Church in the Hamlet of Watson's Corners, outside the village of Lanark, less than 1/2 hour from 'Heritage' Perth, an hour from Ottawa, 1 1/4 hours N of Kingston and 3 1/2 hours or so from Montreal and Toronto.
There are several golf courses within very easy driving distance; many festivals, including The Maple Syrup Festival in April; the Guinness World Book of Records Kilt Run in June; free music in the park at The Stewart Park Festival in July and the Garlic Festival and The Blue Skies Festival in August. There is much to see and do. We are just one hour from Canada's Capital and all that Ottawa has to offer. Closer to home, Purdon Conservation Area, about a 6 minutes drive, boasted 16,000 blooms in 2015; the largest colony of Lady Slipper Orchids in Canada (and possibly North America). The last week in June and early July is the best time for viewing.
