Just wanted to thank you. The lake house was everything we had hope for. We had a great time and would absolutely inquire again in the future.
Loved the location. House was excellent. Bars were fun
Our family spent one fun filled week at the True Lake House. The short walk to the swim area was well worth the walk! The depth of the swim area was great for the younger children we had with us for the week. Walking the other direction to the beachy area was great for the kids to build sand castles and the older ones to jump into a little deeper water and swim around the pier. We did not have a boat, but enjoyed using the kayaks. Everyone got a turn on the kayaks for rides on the lake. The campfire area is wonderful, we used it only one night as it was too hot during our stay to sit around a campfire. We brought yard games with us and the yard was very adequate for the games, however, there are ant hills in the yard and need to be aware of where you are standing. The house included most things that we needed to cook all of our meals either in the kitchen or on the grill. We brought our UTV/ATV's and did some riding in the area and used them to go to the Buckhorn Store when we needed supplies. The location was great for us as some of our family needed to go home for work or other activities for a day and then could return to the vacation house. We would highly recommend this house and hope to return next year!
We enjoyed our stay with out 2 sons and their families. The grassy area was great for the young grandchildren. We had fun using the fire pit. The great room was comfortable for our whole family to relax. The bedrooms worked out perfectly. The toys and air hockey we re appreciated.
We found the property to be clean, well maintained, and as pictured. Our hosts were truly wonderful. They responded immediately to any concerns that we had. (We could not connect to the internet and they replaced the unit with a new one. Problem solved) We had the opportunity to visit Buckhorn State Park, only a short drive away. It has a great swimming area, sandy bottom with a large shallow area. We enjoyed throwing the frisbee while standing in the water. I would highly recommend to family and friends. We have already booked again for next year. Thank you again to Teffy and Jeannine for sharing their home.
We have family in SD, MN, MI and WI so this was a perfect central location for us to come together for a long weekend and hang out! The house has plenty of beds and the kids loved the air hockey table in the downstairs. When we arrived, the mosquitos were horrible since it had rained a lot the week prior and we texted the owner asking if they had any fogger or citronella candles that we could use. The owners showed up not even two hours later with Tiki torches and citronella. We were super impressed by their in person response (they live out of town but happened to be in town that weekend so probably wouldn't be able to be this responsive to everyone!). We loved using the kayaks and brought our boat and enjoyed time on the lake (the bugs were not bad once we got out on the water). Definitely go to the Dirty Turtle, you will not be disappointed and the kids enjoyed the playground equipment! The only reason I am rating this as a 4 and not a 5 is because of the mosquitos (which are of no fault to the owners). We purchased fogger and that did help but we still got eaten alive and spent a majority of the time indoors or on the lake. Would have loved to be able to spend more time outdoors right at the house but we still had a great time. The guys and kids went golfing at the nearby golf course while the girls went to the Bur Oak Winery not far away. There is plenty to do and a great house with everything you would need!
Environment in which you can have so much fun and activities or simply so much relaxing time. You can't get better stay anywhere else and i certainly would send all my friends to this lovely property and house.
A true lake house that is right on Castle Rock Lake. There is a neighborhood boat launch if you bring your own boat. Visit Buck Horn State Park nearby and the Wild Life Refuge in Necedah, WI (10mins North). Wisconsin Dells is only a 20 minute drive.
