Just wanted to thank you. The lake house was everything we had hope for. We had a great time and would absolutely inquire again in the future.
We found the property to be clean, well maintained, and as pictured. Our hosts were truly wonderful. They responded immediately to any concerns that we had. (We could not connect to the internet and they replaced the unit with a new one. Problem solved) We had the opportunity to visit Buckhorn State Park, only a short drive away. It has a great swimming area, sandy bottom with a large shallow area. We enjoyed throwing the frisbee while standing in the water. I would highly recommend to family and friends. We have already booked again for next year. Thank you again to Teffy and Jeannine for sharing their home.
We have family in SD, MN, MI and WI so this was a perfect central location for us to come together for a long weekend and hang out! The house has plenty of beds and the kids loved the air hockey table in the downstairs. When we arrived, the mosquitos were horrible since it had rained a lot the week prior and we texted the owner asking if they had any fogger or citronella candles that we could use. The owners showed up not even two hours later with Tiki torches and citronella. We were super impressed by their in person response (they live out of town but happened to be in town that weekend so probably wouldn't be able to be this responsive to everyone!). We loved using the kayaks and brought our boat and enjoyed time on the lake (the bugs were not bad once we got out on the water). Definitely go to the Dirty Turtle, you will not be disappointed and the kids enjoyed the playground equipment! The only reason I am rating this as a 4 and not a 5 is because of the mosquitos (which are of no fault to the owners). We purchased fogger and that did help but we still got eaten alive and spent a majority of the time indoors or on the lake. Would have loved to be able to spend more time outdoors right at the house but we still had a great time. The guys and kids went golfing at the nearby golf course while the girls went to the Bur Oak Winery not far away. There is plenty to do and a great house with everything you would need!
Environment in which you can have so much fun and activities or simply so much relaxing time. You can't get better stay anywhere else and i certainly would send all my friends to this lovely property and house.
We stayed 3 nights in this place, and really loved it ! The house is very convenient with kids and teenagers as they could play in the basement. House big enough for 3 families...we had a lot of snow, could put on skis right out of the house, and go skiing on the lake which was frozen. very quiet place, nice environnment. Well located to go hiking in different states parks...would love to come back again
We have stayed at Castle Rock Lake in the summer which is beautiful! Enjoyed the lake every day, boating and surrounding restaurants have good food. Equally as fun in the winter! The house is super clean and enjoyable. Plenty of space to have a few families spread out. We were fortunate to have 10 inches of snow! Went snowmobiling right off of the property, skiing at cascade and even tried out cross country skiing. (The Buckhorn state park is right across the street from the neighborhood). Homeowners are responsive and very helpful with all of our questions. We look forward to our next stay! Definitely worth it!
My family enjoyed the laid back atmosphere of the home. We had plenty of space and the surrounding property was beautiful - even for the winter.
We appreciated the Christmas tree as we celebrated Christmas Day there and was able to cook some great holiday meals with everything provided.
The owners were easy to work and communicate with and flexible with our arrival time which we appreciated. We would stay there again!
A true lake house that is right on Castle Rock Lake. There is a neighborhood boat launch if you bring your own boat. Visit Buck Horn State Park nearby and the Wild Life Refuge in Necedah, WI (10mins North). Wisconsin Dells is only a 20 minute drive.
