This newly remodeled cottage (2012) called the 'Surf Breaker' will provide you with a sunny deck, ocean view or cool shade from the redwood trees. Listen to the waves crash and the seals bark as you are sitting in the hot tub, playing horseshoes, or relaxing in the hammock. On the cool coastal nights you can enjoy the indoor fireplace. The house has two full baths, king size bed and a cozy reading room with two twin beds. For those 'gourmet chefs' there is a brand new gas range and a fully stocked kitchen. It is a 5 minute walk (3/4 of a mile) to a private beach (free access.) The cottage and the beach are both near the Anchor Bay Village. A short drive to the Point Arena Stornetta California Coastal National Monument.

Great home base for adventures on the coast. Very relaxing...Clean...everything you need!
Awesome property and an awesome location. Thank you so much for a great holiday. We'll be back soon.
My husband and I stayed in this home July 1st to July 4th. Everything was wonderful from start to finish! The owner was very helpful and the communication was great! This house has everything you could possibly want in a home, and the extras like the hammock and the horseshoe pits were a wonderful touch. The view from the deck is beautiful and the area where the house is located is very quiet and private. If you have the time, the Mexican restaurant in Anchor Bay is really good! The food at the Garcia River Casino in Point Arena is the great also, especially the pancakes! We had the best time and didn't want to leave! Thank you Sally for opening up your home, we definitely recommend this home and hope to be back again! Sheila and Mark Valenti. :)
This home was a perfect base camp for us and our two active teen boys. We put on lots of miles zigzagging up Hwy 1 and cross country to see many state parks, local beaches, scenic overlooks, etc and ended up each day back "home" for movies, supper, and comfortable beds. The one downer was a lack of phone service and spotty internet, but it was good too to unplug the kids from their Instagram and Snapchat and enjoy time in nature and family time. The road is scary steep to get there, but worth the view of tall redwoods and the distant sound of the waves. We loved the hot tub, the hammock, and the space to spread out and relax after a day of adventure. Nearby must do's: kayak/canoe the Gualala River with the guys from Adventure Rents, visit Bowling Ball Beach at low tide (not marked well, ask a local), and Russian Gultch State park- hike to the waterfall! Thank you!
Well stocked kitchen
Well stocked video library
Beach access is drive-in or a strenuous walk
We live nearby, and chose a local vacation spot to limit travel time. Really enjoyed it. Beach was great, the walk back up the hill a bit of a challenge. Mostly we just hung around the house. Great stop, would definitely go back.
