About Jason & Colette
Jason first fell in love with this home when he rented it from the previous owners! He had spent years visiting the Cable area for the Birkebeiner, Fat Tire, and to enjoy all the amazing outdoor recreation. He particularly loved Lake Namakogon - one of the most pristine and beautiful lakes Northwestern Wisconsin has to offer - and the privacy of this property. So when we randomly found out the previous owners were moving south and the cabin was up for sale, it felt like serendipity! We were so excited to move into our little piece of paradise! We enjoy the privacy of our cabin, and love coming here year-round. The cabin has been recently renovated, with updated amenities and everything you could possibly need. The style is modern rustic, with beautiful countertops and fireplace, vaulted ceiling, updated wood interior, and plenty of Northwoods style decorations. Sitting in one of the calmest areas on the lake, Mumm's Bay is known for fantastic fishing. The cabin is 25' from the water, so you're constantly reminded of nature's beauty, whether cooking, dining or relaxing. A great family stay for sure! We are so excited to welcome you to our slice of heaven!

A little slice of heaven!
Serendipity was everything we had hoped for and more! Beautiful cottage on gorgeous Lake Namakagon! The fishing, kayaking, and stand-up paddle boarding were superb. The cottage is located on Mumm's Bay, so although Lake Namakagon is large, it was very quiet at this location. The cottage was well appointed, with a fully stocked kitchen, charcoal grill, fire pit, great dock, and stunning lakefront views out the living room and kitchen windows. The open floor plan was ideal and the sandy bottom and level frontage were a plus. We hope to come again and will highly recommend it to all our family and friends!
Thank you for your review Kathryn! We loved having you & hope to have you stay with us again!
We had a great stay here for snowmobiling! Just a heads up... when renting make note that there are no towels, it is clearly stated on rental agreement. i was the un attentive husband that didn't relay this to his wife!!
Thanks for your review Derik! We’re glad you enjoyed your stay!
Snowmobile trip, great location!
Quick weekend getaway Great Lake perfect location to go snowmobiling
Thanks for your review Ryan. We're glad you enjoyed your stay and hope you'll be back in the future!
Clean, renovated, comfortable, great for kids.
Cabin was extremely clean and felt almost new inside. Had all of the amenities you'll ever need. Having nice furniture and wifi was great since it was chilly outside. We were still able to play with the kids along the shoreline. Being that close to the water was very relaxing. The kids enjoyed watching the wildlife. Thanks for sharing your place, hope to return during warmer weather!
Thanks for your review Luke. We’re so glad you & your family enjoyed your stay! We’d love to welcome you back during warmer weather, too.
Comforts of home... at the lake!!
Nicely decorated and furnished cabin for a long weekend! Close to the water and convenient and quiet location on the lake. Lots of games for our rain day.. perfect spot in any weather... Thanks
Thanks for the review! Was great having you & hope you can visit again in the future.
Quaint, private, and hassle free time away
The cabin is very easy to find and is in a secluded bay. There were maybe 10-15 cabins in the entire bay, of which we saw very little activity. It seemed we had the bay to ourselves.
The water is about 4' deep around the entire edges of the bay and goes out quite aways, before quickly dropping to 18-20' toward the center areas.
The cabin is pretty straightforward - 3 bedrooms as you walk-in, a bathroom, a large living area to the right and kitchen to the left.
The decor is nicely done and not overdone. Whimsical signs and phrases, nothing tacky or distasteful.
There was plenty of seating both in the house and outdoor chairs available in screened in patio. There were also plenty of daily items you might be looking for: salt/pepper, dish soap, paper towels, etc.
The board game selection was fun - the sort of games we don't own, but played in the past. Easy rules and fast games, just easy fun - we played a game each night.
There were DVD's provided as well - mostly teen to adult selections, but you can always bring your own too. They had Garfield and Marmaduke - so we did have something to put on for the kids after a long day of swimming, boating, and fishing.
The lake itself is sprawling (we got lost for over an hour at one point) - we later discovered maps in the house that would have been good to look at before we went out :) - we had no idea how similar it would all look once we got to the North part of the lake.
Very minor gripes and nothing to dissuade someone from staying - the kitchen sink was a bit odd, you either get very slow running water, or very fast water if you hit the spray nozzle button. Maybe there was a trick, but we adjusted and made it work. Shower drained slowly and Jason/Colette said they'd get that info to their cleaner to remedy.
The property itself is long and clean. There is a neighbor on the one side, but there was no activity, and if there were, I think the trees and general respect would have shielded any noise. The other side is trees only. It runs long, a few hundred feet from drive to lake.
The dock is newer, is even, & quite long - made for plenty of dock fishing room.
5 minutes North is the Loon Saloon - groceries, bait, and good pub food. 10 minutes South are the Garmisch and Lakewoods resorts,
Overall we had a great time and it was hard to leave. We would recommend the cabin and property to others interested in a quiet space that has all you need to enjoy time away from city life.
Thank you for the review, Michael! Glad you enjoyed your stay and hope to have your family stay with us again.
