Patty, Obed, and baby Jake are your hosts at the Hacienda de Palmas. We are a multi-cultural family, and enjoy creating an experience for our guest that reflects this aspect. From the great Mexican meals, and positive interaction with local residents, to the slower pace of a small Mexican town, and the many US and Canadian residents who also call La Ribera home. The Hacienda de Palmas is a unique, family oriented, relaxing place to visit where you to can feel completely at home in Mexico.
Jason Oak purchased this hotel in 2012
The Hacienda de Palmas is a located halfway between Cabo San Lucas and La Paz. The perfect starting point to take off on daily adventures and still return to the peace and quiet that awaits you here.
I came down to La Ribera with my then fiancee to get married on the beach. As such, a whole group of my friends came down as well. Josh and his family put up pretty much the entire wedding party for the entire week we were there. I can't say enough about how much fun we had and what beautiful accommodations we had, at a fair price. Anything we needed help with, Josh was there....making phone calls, talking to locals to help with any organization and just being a hospitable host. Will return there again, highly recommended.
My husband and I have stayed here twice and love it. We will be going back this summer. The whole family is so nice. Josh will do whatever to make sure your stay is comfortable. Example: Due to a snow storm in Atlanta we HAD to delay our trip for a few days, so Josh loaned us a cooler, beach umbrella and beach towels so we could just chill on the beach. If you have a car you can find lots to do in the area.
His wife, Patty is an excellent cook and dinner there is very special. Highly recommended. If you are up for an adventure you can find lots to do in the area.
The Hacienda de Palmas was a great place for my wife and I to get away and just relax! It's perfect for those of us who would rather not spend their precious vacation time doing the same old resort shuffle. Josh, Patty and family offer a great place to start and end your days with just the right balance of attention and freedom. Josh was happy to point us in the right direction when asked; and from there we were able to explore this fantastic area that is still mostly unspoiled by tourism.
One piece of advice: We rented a Jeep Wrangler to get around and were happy we did. while the roads are safe there are a couple places it was nice to know we had four wheel drive.
My husband and I spent four nights here in October. The owners, Josh and Patty are wonderfully adept at making a stay very pleasant. The breakfasts are delicious and if you decide to eat lunch or dinner at the Hacienda, you will not be disappointed. We had the room with two beds. We have both had back surgery and found the beds to be quite comfortable.
The Hacienda is authentically old Mexico and is absolutely charming.
If you are fishermen, Josh will line you up with a trip out to sea.
We expect to stay here again and we will be referring family and friends to the Hacienda.
This is exactly what La Ribera needs. A small, intimate,, botique hotel in a cental location. Josh, Patty and kids make it feel like home from the outset. We really enjoyed our stay and felt welcomed and comfortable. The property is inviting, the rooms great and amenities just what we needed. Patty made us breakfast every morning and dinner one night. All meals were excellent. We highly recommend you stop in and check out this unique B & B in La Ribera.
My wife and I had to conduct business in La Ribera over a five night stay and book the Hacienda de Palmas. We were wonderfully supprised with the accomdations and most of all the hospitality of the intimate friendly family owned opporation. The proprietors introduced and escorted to an afternoon of enjoyment on one of La Ribera's wonderful beachs and dinner out at one of La Ribera's new restaurants. The service provided was outstanding in every respect I would highly recomend the Hacienda de Palmas for a quiet vacation base for all your other activities.
