About the property

Located in the charming mountain community of Canmore, this 2 bedroom / 2 bathroom condo is in the perfect location for a mountain vacation and can comfortably sleep 4 - 6 people. (Can fit 4 adults and 4 kids)

This single level corner unit is on the third floor of the Canmore Crossing complex and, despite almost 1300 sq ft of open plan space, it still manages to retain a cosy and comfortable feel. It has underground parking and a storage locker for skis and other toys. You’ll have full use of 2 rooftop hot tubs after a day of skiing or hiking with great views of the Bow Valley (including the 3 Sisters). There is also an indoor hot tub and a fully equipped workout room.

The unit has a master ensuite bedroom with a queen sleigh bed and a great view of Cascade Mountain. The second bedroom has an adjoining bathroom and twin beds (which can be put together to make a king size bed). Both bedrooms have ample closet space. As well as the beds we have a sofa bed that is way more comfortable than the traditional ones that are lumpy and poke springs in your back all night. If even more sleeping space is needed, the condo also has a comfortable double air mattress (with electric pump).

The fully equipped, modern and spacious kitchen is ideal for preparing meals. Quality appliances include dishwasher, microwave, fridge-freezer with icemaker and water filter, stove, coffee machine, toaster & blender The slate floor in the kitchen, entrance way, and both bathrooms have underfloor heating, great for warming the feet during a Canadian winter.

The living room has panoramic views of the entire North-East range of mountains in the Canmore section of the Bow Valley, including Mount Lady Macdonald and Grotto Mountain. Relax on the comfortable leather couches in front of the gas fireplace and take in the vista. One couch is a very comfortable queen sofa-bed (not the old-fashioned hide-a-bed variety) and there is also plenty of room for a double air mattress (also supplied). Cable TV (included Chromecast allows you to stream content directly from your phone or tablet), landline telephone, DVD player (with selection of DVDs) as well as high speed internet are all included.

The balcony has views of the same mountains as the living room, as well as Cascade Mountain to the North West and Mount Rundle to the West - a perfect place for a BBQ.

Upon arrival you'll be provided with supplies including coffee, tea, laundry detergent, dish soap, shampoo, conditioner, etc. If you have small children then you won't need to bring the bulky stuff with you; we run a family-friendly condo and supply a high chair, a bed rail and a playpen. We also keep a National Park Pass at the condo that will give full access to Banff National Park (and any others you may visit, e.g. Jasper National Park).

Our family loves to spend time here (it makes a great base for exploring the surrounding area) and we look forward to welcoming you for your Rocky Mountain vacation at our Canmore mountain condo. If the dates you require are not available please get in contact with us anyway so we can add you to our waiting list in case we get any cancellations.

Minimum stay of 3 nights for Canadian public holidays. Note that if you use the Book It button you will have to pay the damage deposit at the same time as your rental payment. If you would rather defer the payment of the damage deposit until 30 days before check-in, send an enquiry and we will be able to get this set up for you before you pay.

About Tara and Steven Hines

We are a family living in Calgary who love being close to the mountains. We like to ski, hike and generally enjoy all the Rockies have to offer. Before children, we traveled a lot and enjoyed staying in places similar to the one we now offer you.

Tara and Steven Hines purchased this condo in 2012

Why Tara and Steven Hines chose Alberta

We recently bought this property after having visited Canmore numerous times. We are hoping to share our love of the mountains with our daughters and think it will be a great place for family vacations. We hope you will enjoy our home as much as we do.

What makes this condo unique

We really love the location of our condo; it allows you to enjoy the town without needing to use a car. Having the shops so close means you don't have to plan ahead, and you can go out and enjoy an evening meal or night at the pub without having to find a taxi home!

Guestbook comments from the owner

Tara and Steven made our stay at their Canmore condo very comfortable without any worries or concerns. Their condo is situated in the town center where all convenient coffee shops and grocery stores are located, all literally across the street, and it was very easy to find the place with their detailed instructions for keyless entry. Inside of the condo it was very clean and had a cabin-like decor, with artistic bear and elk paintings and beautiful lampshades placed in the living room. The gas-lit fireplace made the living room very warm and cozy, and it was a pleasant experience relaxing on the couches and feeling warm next to the fire. We had excellent WiFi reception to their fast cable internet in all rooms of the condo. Their kitchen is well-stocked with pots and pans, and we didn't really need to buy any additional spices or oils to cook our meals. Their bathroom had everything needed to take a bath/shower, like towels, shampoo, conditioner, body lotion, etc., and their detailed guest book answered all other questions we had about the place. Overall, we highly recommend staying at this place when visiting Banff or Lake Louise, and as the description says, it's a wonderful for families. Their Discovery Pass, which was in the room and available for use, allows entry to all Canadian national parks free of charge, and it was an unexpected surprise and bonus seeing this pass in the room.

Great Stay!!

  • 5 of 5

We stayed at the condo over Christmas and were very happy with everything. The condo was spotless when we arrived and, as advertised, was spacious and full of amenities that helped to make our stay enjoyable. We arrived in a snow storm and it was still snowy and fogged in all the next day - but thankfully Christmas Day dawned bright and sunny and we were finally able to enjoy the amazing views of the mountains from all of the big windows in this corner condo. Spectacular!! We walked on the trails, skated at the big pond, and shopped a bit - the location of this property made everything so handy. We would happily recommend it to anyone wanting to enjoy the Canmore area! Thank you!

Great vacation home, you had a wonderful time there

  • 5 of 5

The place is large and clean, great location (across from Safeway) and easy to find. Instructions are very detailed and very helpful. Beds are comfortable, heat works perfectly. We were pleasantly surprised by many cooking wares and other amenities. The owner even provided Banff park access card which costs $20 daily. Overall this was a great experience and we will come back.

Lovely condo near town center

  • 4 of 5

Tara and Steve's condo was lovely, very clean and nicely equipped for three single women who all wanted our own beds. It was located a short walk from Canmore town center, very handy for dinners. The only downside for us was that it is located on a main street very close to the Safeway parking lot; convenient but a bit loud with the windows open. There was also some confusion when we arrived about the pass codes for parking and building access; the codes change so make sure you check emails to be sure you have the most recent. Tara and Steve were traveling but responded right away and it all worked out fine.

Owner's Response: Hi Terri, Thank you so much for taking the time to leave a review. We are sorry that the noise was a bother to you during your stay. We do outline for our guests in our guest services binder (that we both e-mail out and leave in the unit) that it is best to sleep with the windows closed due to our proximity to the railway and the delivery trucks that at times go in and out of Safeway at night. With the windows closed the noise does not tend to bother guests, with them open the noise can be noticeable. That is also why all rooms are equipped with a fan; in the case of the master bedroom there is also a ceiling fan. With the use of those fans guests tell us that they are comfortable at night and do not need to open the windows. As for the codes, the building code changes once a year and we always e-mail all guests the code if it happens to change before arrival. I am sorry that you did not see the e-mail we sent you and were unable to access the building with ease. For security we also change the door code to the unit after each guest checks out. This is also e-mailed to guests before arrival so we encourage guests to keep that information with them for when they arrive so they can access the condo easily. I am glad we were able to get it all sorted out for you and that you and your friends enjoyed your time at the condo. All thebest, Tara and Steve
