hard to beat

Fabulous house for a family holiday - the photographs don't do it justice. It is much bigger inside than the photos suggest and, also, the garden is enormous and totally private. Literally just a couple of minutes' walk from one of the most picturesque bus stops in the world, getting around the island by bus and ferry was SO easy. The West End of the island has far prettier beaches and far more going on than the East End, so this house is perfectly located. Also, H2O WaterSports is a five minutes' walk away and perfect for everything you might want to do on the turquoise sea. Somerset Long Beach is also just a five minutes' walk away and we would not have believed that it was possible to swim with so many turtles in the water underneath and right beside you. Snorkeling is a must - there are so many fish to see and quite different from bay to bay - and having your own private beach (albeit a very small one) seems a total indulgence. The pace of life in Bermuda is slow and relaxing, so perfect for holidays, and the local people are incredibly warm and welcoming. My wife and I and our three teenage children had the most wonderful holiday ever here. Only two downsides, in my opinion. First, absolutely everything in Bermuda is expensive (between two and five times the price of what we're used paying in the UK!), so don't go unless you're willing to splash the cash. Second - and this is just a small detail - but I think the lawn would benefit from being cut more frequently. Otherwise, though, we found the owner absolutely brilliant to liaise with and immensely helpful.

Secluded and relaxing

  • 5 of 5

Coach House Cottage is a wonderful and secluded place to stay. We were there for five nights, and I wish we could have stayed longer! The garden is very peaceful and quiet, and the interior is fresh and bright. There was plenty of room inside and outside to lounge and relax. The waterfront is very private and a great spot to sit reading a book with your feet in the water. The house is conveniently located near several public beaches, a grocery store, and a pub. The kitchen is well-equipped for eating in as well. Can't wait to return in the future!

The perfect family get away

  • 5 of 5

The coach house is the perfect family home, beautiful exterior, tastefully decorated interior, large garden with mature trees, veranda and well equipped kitchen. Our family have stayed twice at The Coach House and wouldn't even consider staying anywhere else.

A short walk to the bus stop and you are twenty minutes from the best beaches of Southamton or ten minutes from the Dockyard.

Our family would spend the mornings at the south shore beaches and finished the afternoon resting and playing In the garden. Our son really enjoyed walking to the Cambridge beaches Dock and fishing with the locals.

Thankyou beth, we had the best holiday ever! We're hoping to come back :)

The definition of perfection.

  • 5 of 5

The Coach House was just perfect. It was so refreshing and relaxing to have such a positive 'end-to-end' experience. From the first email we sent, Beth was so responsive and helpful. Then when we had booked the information she provided regarding the house and surrounds was detailed and incredibly helpful. Then when we arrived, the house was exactly as pictured and exactly as described. It was clean, beautifully maintained and with every amenity. The house was close to the beach but also incredibly comfortable when we wanted time at home. It was pleasure to spend time in the garden, in the large kitchen or in the 2 living areas. We would highly recommend this residence to everyone - it was a fantastic time and a holiday experience together we will never forget.

The "Real Deal" ...

  • 5 of 5

My family of 4 are just back from Bermuda and our 5 day stay at “The Coach House” cottage. Very “Bermudian”, in both architecture and décor. It helps make you feel “settled” in Bermuda immediately, like your part of its fabric. As noted by the other reviews, very convenient to buses (I highly recommend a multi-day bus/ferry pass) and nearby beaches, as well as nearby restaurants (some walkable, the others a short ride to Dockyards). The kitchen is well updated, and the AC works perfectly. We spent the evenings out on the back porch area watching shooting stars and listening to the peepers. The bedrooms are roomy enough, with a queen in one and 2 twins in the other. All are comfortable. Baths are also updated, and very clean. We are charmed by Bermuda each time we go, and have now found a place to accommodate us all that delivers that same “charmed” theme – all very comfy and cozy. Thank you for sharing your lovely little cottage. We’ll be back.

A great & comfortable property with its own beach!

  • 5 of 5

Our third time in Bermuda, this place rises to the top with a perfect little private beach where we had each morning's coffee. Its a five minute walk down picturesque Tween Walls Road where the gate identifies this as Coach Houses private beach. The huge back yard is screened by dense plantings provide comfort, beauty and privacy. The house has all the comforts and a great kitchen for meals in - well maintained and spotless. A short walk to the bus stop and you are really close to the popular beaches or 9 minutes away from the restaurants and shops of the Dockyard. Somerset is a quaint village close by for dining, video rentals, coffee or the day's paper. We couldn't be more pleased with this property! Any questions we had were answered quickly and completely by Beth - who turns out to be a pretty credible watercolor artist as well! Highly recommended!

Paddle around the island and through Somerset Bridge, famous for being the smallest drawbridge in the world. Rent bicycles from the kiosk at Cambridge Beaches and take a ride on the Railroad Trail that runs the length of the island. For history buffs and shoppers, Dockyard is just a short bus ride. The beautiful beaches of the South Shore are also a short bus ride away.
