Excellent- just as described
Very pleasant week. Amenities and information provided by owner were very welcome and helpful.
Coach House has everything a family needs for a comfortable and relaxing vacation.
Coach House was ideal for our family of five because everyone had their own space. The two bathrooms are clean and fresh. The kitchen has an awesome countertop and tons of cabinet space. I love the beach, but never have I had the opportunity to be on a tropical island and be able to walk to the market and the beach from a villa until we went to the Coach House. If our family has the opportunity to return to Bermuda, we will go back to the Coach House.
Great place to stay for quiet, relaxing, and restful holiday
We enjoyed our stay immensely -- we rented a scooter and had easy access to all of Bermuda, all while being removed from any noise or tourists. Nearby pub (Country Squire) was great and the staff were extremely friendly. Try the fish sandwich at Woody's just down a bit from Country Squire! You can hear tree frogs at night from the bedroom, which sure beats the horn-honking we left in NYC! Highly recommended -- we'll be back!
Clean and comfortable house close to peaceful beaches!
We very much enjoyed our stay at Beth's house in Bermuda. It was clean and had everything we needed for a quite week away. The small private beach was perfect for us to hide from the world, while still having walkable access to a grocery store, pub, and bus stop. We were sad to leave and hope to come back!
One of the best
We have been coming to Bermuda for 20+ years and over the last few visits have opted to rent houses in lieu of hotel rooms. Most of you will know that, whilst Bermuda is an amazing place, the houses for rent are not the best quality. Not so with the Coach House, which has been refurbished to a high standard with a fantastic eat in kitchen and new bathrooms.
The setting itself is the stuff of dreams, down a tiny country road near to your own private beach with a huge garden. Although it is tucked away and as such very quiet and private, it is literally 5 minutes walk to Long Bay Beach which is one of the most stunning beaches on the island and where you can swim (as we did) with the turtles everyday. It is also 5 minutes away from Somerset Village which has got shops, banks, a gym, restaurants and a couple of bars.
In terms of the overall location, we have spent a lot of time over the years either in Tucker's Town or Hamilton but the last time and this time we were over this side of the island which we really like as it is quieter and, as mentioned above, the beaches are better with more tranquil waters. We also liked being near the Dockyard which is an amazing place if you like your naval history.
Finally, we should mention the owner, Beth who was absolutely fantastic. Nothing was too much trouble and Beth went way beyond what any other owner would have done to make our stay perfect.
Thank you Beth and we will be back soon!
hard to beat
Fabulous house for a family holiday - the photographs don't do it justice. It is much bigger inside than the photos suggest and, also, the garden is enormous and totally private. Literally just a couple of minutes' walk from one of the most picturesque bus stops in the world, getting around the island by bus and ferry was SO easy. The West End of the island has far prettier beaches and far more going on than the East End, so this house is perfectly located. Also, H2O WaterSports is a five minutes' walk away and perfect for everything you might want to do on the turquoise sea. Somerset Long Beach is also just a five minutes' walk away and we would not have believed that it was possible to swim with so many turtles in the water underneath and right beside you. Snorkeling is a must - there are so many fish to see and quite different from bay to bay - and having your own private beach (albeit a very small one) seems a total indulgence. The pace of life in Bermuda is slow and relaxing, so perfect for holidays, and the local people are incredibly warm and welcoming. My wife and I and our three teenage children had the most wonderful holiday ever here. Only two downsides, in my opinion. First, absolutely everything in Bermuda is expensive (between two and five times the price of what we're used paying in the UK!), so don't go unless you're willing to splash the cash. Second - and this is just a small detail - but I think the lawn would benefit from being cut more frequently. Otherwise, though, we found the owner absolutely brilliant to liaise with and immensely helpful.
Coach House is located between Cambridge Beaches and Somerset Village. The cottage is set in a private garden and has it's own waterfront and tiny beach a short walk down Tween Walls on Mangrove Bay. The large yard and calm waters are ideal from families with children. The natural beauty of Mangrove Bay may be enjoyed from the water on sailboats, kayaks, and motor boats available at H2O sports a short walk from the Cottage. Paddle around the island and through Somerset Bridge, famous for being the smallest drawbridge in the world. Rent bicycles from the kiosk at Cambridge Beaches and take a ride on the Railroad Trail that runs the length of the island. For history buffs and shoppers, Dockyard is just a short bus ride. The beautiful beaches of the South Shore are also a short bus ride away.
