Lovely place to stay

  • 5 of 5

We've stayed at Carol's condo twice. Both times we've left wanting to return as soon as possible. The condo is a great location for us, right on the ocean where we can enjoy the views & exploring tide pools, and not far to beaches & other sites. The condo itself was clean & well stocked with everything we've needed. We are looking forward to returning again!

We stayed here for 7 nights in March of 2015, booking online you are sometimes not quite sure what you are going to walk into. We opened the front door and were immediately drawn through the condo straight to the lanai - where we ate breakfast and dinner each night, it far surpassed what we were expecting. The condo was clean, the kitchen large enough for 2 to be preparing meals and getting ready for that days' explorations. Location was great for us as we travelled up and down the coast checking out beaches and sights. The condo had everything we needed, we slept each night with the door to the lanai in the master bedroom open and could hear the surf and have plenty of fresh air. Every morning we were there we saw whales in front of the condo, the humpbacks and calves were hard to tear yourself away from. The second bedroom has two twin beds and does face the main street Alii drive, so if you were two couples there would be some coin flipping to see who had the ocean front bedroom. From the parking to the condo itself we felt safe & secure, being able to leave the front door screen open and the doors to the lanai open gave the condo a very nice cooling breeze and allowed you to hear the ocean if you had to spend anytime inside. The washer/dryer was a very nice bonus. Carol was extremely flexible with us, as I had arranged our flight for 9:30 pm the night we were leaving and we wanted to snorkel one last time, she allowed us to stay past check out time. This condo is privately owned, not part of the Kona Bali Kali "rental pool" (I don't think) I can't speak to the rest of the units in this building but this particular one (#402) helped make our vacation experience exceptional. Many thanks to Carol!

Loved our stay in Kona

  • 5 of 5

Awesome! We totally enjoyed our stay at Carol's condo. The location is perfect and the view is amazing. We spent a lot of time on the lanai watching surfers, dolphins, whales, and turtles. Hubby even enjoyed a little surf fishing on the reef right in front of the condo. The condo had everything we needed including the sound of the waves resonated throughout the was wonderful! Kailua is close enough to run into town for an ice cream cone and shave ice and a walk along the waterfront yet far enough away from the touristy area. Carol is great to work with and is only a phone call away if you have any questions. We are already making plans for our next trip.

Great location for the Kona coast.

  • 5 of 5

First off let me say that Carol is awesome! She was very helpful and accommodating to all of our needs. We stayed here with a 14 and 17 year old. The location is great- on the water so you can hear the surf and watch the surfers and far enough away from the touristy area of Kona. There is a small tidal pool area you can get wet in but you really can't do too much swimming because of the reef. Still- the turtles come right up to the shore and there is plenty to see. If you are an experienced surfer the spot is perfect. For the best snorkeling go down to Pu'uhonua O Honaunau National Historical Park. I wrote a review of that on Tripadvisor.

The condo itself is very nice and renovated. Carol outfits it with an awful lot that is greatly appreciated. If there is any negative its that its not air conditioned but its not needed due to the amazing breeze that goes right through the condo. It was more than comfortable.

I highly recommend Carol and her condo! Thank you for everything and we hope to come back some day! Mahalo!

Surpassed our hopes...

  • 5 of 5

Wow! Carol's condo is a fantastic value. Absolutely oceanfront with a huge lanai that looks out on Banyan Surf beach, a nice grassy area, and gorgeous coastline. My only complaint is it is hard to leave the's so relaxing to just listen to the surf and watch the surfers and turtles below, kayakers, paddle boards, and canoers going by. Though there are two bedrooms Carol allowed it to be rented as a one bedroom (2 bath) at the lowest rate we were able to find for this building. We stayed a week at a comparable condo closer near Kona, rated a "solid gold value" in Hawaii, the Big Island Revealed" before this and it was nice but the lanai was much smaller and way less private, with a smaller floor plan for $30 more/night. Carol's even has a washer and dryer in the unit as well as boogie boards, beach chairs, ice chest, etc. Carol is super responsive and easy to work with...I HIGHLY recommend this unit!

BEST all around

  • 5 of 5

This condo was WONDERFUL! Carol is super nice and helpful. The bathrooms, kitchen, etc. were VERY clean. There was a TON of extra stuff (boogie board, beach towels, etc.) to use. The parking lot was very convenient to go up the stairs. We had one very minor issue and Carol was SUPER responsive. The airflow through the unit was great for cooling off at night and I liked how the front screen door had a dead bolt (as we had a young child with us). We were ALWAYS watching the surfers. The overall property was well maintained and I liked how there was a concierge on site (his name was Willy and he was very helpful).
