Villa Lagoa is a bright, airy, detached, contemporary 3 bedroom villa with shared pool. It sleeps up to 8 and is stylishly decorated to a very high standard. The bedrooms, lounge and diner lead out onto large terraces that overlook the swimming pool to the front and the green to the rear of the property. Within easy reach of the villa lie the famous medieval spa baths at Caldas da Rainha and the impressive 13th Century monasteries at Alcobaca and Batalha. Most spectacular, however, is the medieval walled town of Obidos, a national monument dating back to the Moorish occupation of Portugal and now a UNESCO protected site. An hour’s drive south will put you in the environs of Lisbon, Cascais and Sintra, all of which are well worth a visit. There are wonderful facilities for water sports at the stunning beach at Foz which is a 20 minute stroll away or a 5 minute drive by car. A new Aqua park at Nazare is within a short drive away. Wind surfing at the nearby resorts of Sao Martinho and Peniche.
Things to do nearby: The Lagoon offers a variety of water sports e.g. canoeing, kite and wind-surfing, sailing, water-skiing if that's your preference.
New and paved walking running and cycling paths can be used to take full advantage of a calorie burning afternoon.
Caldas da Rainha, the historically well known thermal town can be reached within a 10 minute drive and here you can shop in the daily fruit, vegetable and flower market where you'll find the best the region has to offer in terms of fresh produce.
There are also many hypermarkets in the area to stock up on daily provisions.
Things to do further away: Lisbon City and airport is only a 50 minute drive. Don't forget to visit the medieval castle and walled city of Obidos. Wine tours and various visits to neighbouring and historically fascinating towns and villages can also be booked. These include Nazare, Alcobaca and the magnificent horseshoe bay of San Martinho do Porto.
The Shrine of Fatima is less than 45 mins away. Sintra has become a major tourist attraction, with many day-trippers visiting from nearby Lisbon. Attractions include the fabulous Pena Palace (19th c.) and the Castelo dos Mouros (reconstructed 19th c.) with a breath-taking view of the Sintra-Cascais Natural Park, and the summer residence of the kings of Portugal Palácio Nacional de Sintra (largely 15th/16th c.), in the town itself.
The Sunday market at Santa Anna is a must when you visit the area as it gives you a flavour of local produce markets and whatever you do, do not forget to sample the piri piri chicken. Market closes by 2PM.

This is our first visit to Portugal and we want to thank you for our fantastic holiday in Villa Lagoa!
We were looking for a holiday with 5 friends and when we discovered the homeaway-site, we found this add. It all looked very beautiful and too good to be true. But when we arrived, we actually discovered this villa was even better then we thought! It's very modern and spacious. You have got all you need and more!! It was the best house we ever spend our holiday in. As for he area, we never heard of Foz Do Arelho, but we figured, let's take our chances. It turned out to be a lovely area with lots of things to do. We went to Lisbon, hung out at the beach in Foz Do Arelho and in Baleal, went jetskiing and karting and just relaxed at the beautiful pool. The people are all very friendly and everything is very cheap! We met a Portugese woman who made a real Portugese meal for us and it as great. I love Portugese meals!
The holiday was fabulous and we will definitely come back! Thanks for letting us stay in your stunning villa!
Thanks very, very much, from Belgium
My family had a wonderful holiday. The villa was lovely and suited my family's needs both the older children and the younger ones. The area and beaches we're stunning. There were lots of activities in the area. My family went sailing, kite surfing and cart racing. A good time 'was had by all.
We enjoyed every minute of our stay. Although the weather was not as hot as we would have loved, we still had a good time. The villa iwas stunning and spirit uplifting. We felt at home. There was a lot to see locally. We lenjoyed eating out. at the local eateries . The food was good and very reasonably priced. We will definitely go back.
The property is immaculate. Very well maintained and had every facility one could imagine. We had our daughter 19 and son 14 with us and they were not bored even for a moment which speaks volumes of the facilities. The description was accurate and there were no surprises at all. We would strongly recommend the property although a car would be useful if you want to visit the beach and the numerous restaurants in Caldas Da Rainha. The kids enjoyed water sports in the lagoon and the seafood was excellent.
This is a very large light spacious property that is very well equipped and nicely presented with a huge games room in the basement. The property was clean and any problems were quickly resolved. The 4 properties on the development are very close together and the outiside space is as shown. A car is recommended as there is less in easy walking distance than we expected. The beach at Foz is great, the watersports on the lagoon at the sailing club are good fun and the medieval town of obidos is definitely worth a visit. Lots of other good beaches are in easy distance by car.
Beautiful modern villa with all the amenities required and more. Pool was loved by all. Not as near to the beach as we were expecting with children a car is a must. Overall a relaxing and much needed holiday that lived up to all our expectations and we look forward to coming back.
Other Activities: The resorts of Sao Martinho and Nazare offer a range of clubs and bars for your enjoyment
Golf: Golf at Praia del Rey, Golden Eagle Golf course.
