About Kendall Hale

I am a professional massage therapist and yoga instructor, gardener, violinist, vocalist, and spend lots of time hiking in the Blue Ridge Mountains. I live at Sharon Spring, a family homestead with my husband and two grown children. We are bee keepers, gardeners, grow raspberries, blueberries and harvest wild blackberries all over our pastures. We make applesauce from a few apple trees, jams from the berries, and honey from our precious bees that we struggle to keep alive.

Kendall Hale purchased this cabin in 1995

Why Kendall Hale chose Asheville Area

We moved here from Boston about 20 years ago, and fell in love with the Asheville area. The magical blue mist of the mountains captured our imagination, and within a few weeks we purchased this old tobacco farm in Fairview, with its overflowing spring, song birds, flowering trees, and pastures. We love outdoor swimming, so within 2 years added a pond a dock and gazebo. It has been a labor of love, caring and re-creating this very special place to enjoy and share with our guests and visitors.

What makes this cabin unique

We lived in the original farmhouse, built a second home, and then created Sharon Spring Cabin, combining my massage skills, our love of wood burning sauna, my yoga/mediation training and our desire to create a sustainable homestead where I could host guests in a peaceful, relaxing environment close to the exiting city of Asheville.

A Beautiful Retreat

  • 5 of 5

We had a hurricane at home the week before our vacation and really needed our getaway time. It is serene and lovely. The cabin is clean and the views are amazing. Loved the short drive to Asheville and enjoyed going to Pisgah on the Blue Ridge Parkway where we had an incredible lunch (marker 408.6 and try the fresh trout). The trees were autumn colors which made it even more beautiful. Took great pictures of the sunrise from the porch. The location is perfect. Definitely will visit again. Thanks, Kendall.

Perfect Retreat

  • 5 of 5

Waking up to a scenic mountain view is what made us choose Sharon Spring. The peace and serenity we felt during our stay is what will bring us back!

We stayed for an extended weekend. There are several beautiful hikes nearby and the cabin is a very short drive to Asheville. The convenient location allowed us time to take in the city, the mountains and still enjoy the cabin and the grounds. Regretfully we did not make time for the full wellness package but did enjoy the sauna. I will not skip the full wellness package next time. Kendall is great and has a list of recommended hikes and restaurants available upon arrival that we found extremely helpful.

Beautiful cabin in a beautiful location.

  • 5 of 5

A sunny, comfortable cabin with cathedral ceilings and a dramatic view looking south toward the Bear Wallow Mt. range. Lush gardens, (including a secluded water garden) made musical by a variety of birds. A spring-fed pond with dock for swimming. Proximity to many beautiful Hikes. (We particularly liked the Laurel River trail.) A hot tub which was especially nice under a sky of stars. Options for on-site yoga and sauna. All just a few miles from downtown Asheville. Sharon Spring cabin is a beautiful place we look forward to coming back to.

Peaceful and relaxing getaway

  • 5 of 5

Quiet, peaceful and wonderful getaway that my husband and I drastically needed. We had just traveled to this lovely cabin last weekend for his birthday. We were immediately engaged in our wonderful hosting by Kendall. She really made the us and the cabin feel comfortable, clean, and peaceful. Kendall also was very informative of the area and had plenty of ideas for my husband and I to think about doing. Whether that was different hiking trails, swimming in the spring water pond, enjoying the views from the swing/pond area, using the hot tub, grilling out, reading, or experiencing downtown Asheville (which was only 15 minutes away). Included in the cabin price, we also both got a massage by Kendall as she is a licensed massage therapist. Very much needed massages. We also enjoyed the sauna which is on the first floor of the cabin. The entire place was clean and looked brand new. We were able to grille out the second night there with the grille provided along with an entire kitchen set of utensils. We did not need to bring much extra! The cabin is filled with windows so the sun was always shining inside, although there were plenty of window shades if needed. You can see unbelievable views from every window of the cabin. We will definitely be coming back next summer. Highly recommended.

Peaceful, Remote Getaway

  • 5 of 5

Kendall's Mountain Wellness Retreat was exactly what my husband and I were looking for in a vacation home. The home is set in a small town of Fairview-just 15 minutes from Asheville, and roughly 20 from Black Mountain. The best mountain biking trails my husband has ever been on was only a short drive away; the Biltmore was also just as close to the house.

The house itself was incredibly clean and has the most beautiful view of the mountains!. We made sure to utilize Kendall's yoga & massage talents which was much needed after 7 days of rock climbing, canoeing, mountain biking, and hiking.

Extended weekend trip.

  • 4 of 5

Kendall was super easy to work with. It was a easy process to book and pay for online. The place was very clean & comfortable . If we didn't have seminars to go to I would've enjoyed getting a massage. We did get to enjoy the hot tub which was wonderful! I love the birds & the quiet. But its the views are unbeatable ! I would recommend this for a any getaway or a girls trip. It's not far from Fletcher or Asheville . Good local place to eat around the corner .
