Come treat yourself to a truly special place, a wide open space to e-x-h-a-l-e ....
When I purchased this land in 2000 it was a chemically farmed citrus orchard. I made the three year transition to organic, designed and built the home and the gardens, diversified, and the culmination of those efforts are this small and wonderful community we now call Red Tail Ranch complete with an organic farm (Mano Farm) and seed company (All Good Things). And yes - there are beautiful Red Tail Hawks here!
Kim McLin purchased this villa in 2000
If you want to experience living in nature but with ultimate comfort, to 'escape it all' but without giving up anything, then you need to spend some time here at Red Tail Ranch. It is a magical and restorative place, a 9000 year old registered archeological site - a milling site of the Oak Grove Indians - productive - the perfect place for an organic farm!
The incredible views, the quiet, the darkness, the stars, the history, the energy, the magic!
We were married in Ojai so wanted to come here for our first anniversary. We were looking for something quiet and relaxing and found that at Red Tail Ranch. The grounds are just gorgeous and the house is cozy with beautiful decor. The hot tub view is hard to beat. Thank you Kim!
The red tail ranch was absolutely perfect for our 5 day retreat after the hurried holidays.
Kim, the owner, was wonderful and responsive without ever being intrusive.
The west Villa is a work of art with beautiful landscapes out of every gorgeous wood framed window, artful details were abundant and the overall feeling was of relaxed luxury. We used the hot tub daily, experiencing the solace and view daytime or night...and in the rain. The kitchen was stocked with more than the necessities, it enticed us to stay in and cook. The space was open, inviting and truly lovely. The radiant floor heat was wonderful, keeping the villa the perfect temperature and the fireplace warmed us when it grew chilly outside. The villa really had every quality we desire and more.
The outside space was gorgeously thoughtful, very private and we truly found ourselves gazing outward, going outside, walking, picking citrus, sitting enjoying the peace...and then we baked a delicious olive oil citrus cake.
We will go back.
Extraordinary place, Supereb
The home, the property, the air...everything about our experience was perfect. The indoor/outdoor fits in so well with all that Ojai offers. I highly recommend staying here!
My wife and I stayed at the villa for our one year anniversary, and had such an amazing time! The home and property were stunning and very peaceful, and the organic vegetables from the farm were a nice welcoming touch. We loved juicing fresh oranges each morning that Kim left for us, and enjoying the jacuzzi and stars at night. We look forward to hopefully staying there again sometime in the future!
This ranch is the most magical place to stay in ojai. My girlfriends and I stayed the night and had the most incredible time. Kim was very welcoming and the sweetest host. She had a crate of oranges and a juicer on the patio and we made the most delicious oj for breakfast. Very relaxing and majestic place to stay and the jacuzzi view is out of this world. Highly recommend staying here and hope to rebook in the future.
Walking distance to trailheads from the home and then to the Deer Lodge for drinks, dinner & dancing!
