The Cottage at Marianmade Farm located on the Sheepscot River in Midcoast Maine
- english, I can understand a little French.
My wife and I, along with our two young children live in the Greater Portland area. We purchased Marianmade Farm this Spring after discovering the property two years earlier. My wife is from Wiscasset and this property, being here, has very special meaning to us.
John purchased this Cottage in 2016
Why John chose Wiscasset
Serenity, peace, privacy, waterfront, woods, flowers, the list goes on and on. There isn't a property like Marianmade Farm anywhere in Maine. The thought, detail and passion that went into designing and building the property as well as the care taken to keeping it so unique and special sets it apart. Once our guests drive through the gated entry they are whisked away into a dream. Our daughter believes its where fairytales are made.

Idyllic and peaceful cottage
This was a beautiful property and exactly as described in the listing. Came with our two children and loved exploring the property and the nearby area. Highly recommend. The property manager was very friendly and helpful.
Wonderful property, highly recommend!
Wiscasset Stone Cottage
It was a perfect week for us, our toddler and dog. We all loved the amenities, open layout and fenced in yard. Beautiful view. Will definitely be back.
this cottage has everything you need & more. Absolutely gorgeous place to relax with super accommodating caretakers. Great location with easy access to quaint village of Wiscasset.
Gorgeous, peaceful setting
Marianmade Farm is a vacation cottage when there is not a wedding scheduled. Evidently weddings set in lavender fields are a thing. It is set on acreage that rolls down to the Sheepscot River and features lavender beds and well-tended flower gardens. There is a spacious, light-filled bedroom with a gorgeous view of flowers from the bed. The second bedroom is small and dark but certainly serviceable. If you go with another couple, you’ll have to flip for the better bedroom. The kitchen and bath are clean and modern. The location is close to the tiny village of Wiscasset, where there is good food and boutique shopping and also to the Maine highway that connects to nearby coastal towns and day trips in every direction. All four of us loved our week there. As a gardener, I was enthralled with the peonies and roses.
When you round the corner of the drive and see the stone cottage, it is stunning. Then you walk in and the details inside are just right. Classy and comfy. There are flowers in the views out of every window. This is a beautiful piece of property filled with floral gardens and wildlife.
My husband and I wanted a weekend to unplug and unwind. We accomplished just that...enjoying the peacefulness on the patio with frequent visits from a hummingbird. Also, relaxed each night at the firepit. What a way to end each day!
The communications from the owner were incredibly detailed and very helpful to prepare us for our arrival. Also, we needed some more firewood for the second night and they were extremely responsive and pleasant!
We will definitely return for another getaway!
The property is only 3/4 of a mile from the "Prettiest Village in Maine" - better known as Wiscasset. Downtown Wiscasset, which is only 45 minutes from Portland, Maine and 15 minutes from Boothbay harbor is right on the banks of the Sheepscot River. The cute town houses wonderful boutique stores, art galleries, and the world famous Red's Eats! You can easily walk to the downtown area from the cottage and grab a coffee and morning treats at "Treats", a splendid provisions store in the heart of downtown Wiscasset. The house is also only 1/2 mile from the Little Village Bistro restaurant which DownEast Magazine just voted best chef in Maine as well as Best New Restaurant for 2016!! Couldn't ask for a better option within walking distance.
