This lovely 2-story cottage has 3 BR/2 BA in about 1500 sq. ft. It was custom built in 2010 and has many upgraded features - stainless steel appliances, travertine in both bathrooms, beautiful concrete countertops and floors, etc.
The downstairs of the cottage features an open floor plan where the living room with a 2-story ceiling height flows into the kitchen and dining area. There is a 4 person Dining Room table as well as 2 stools at the bar height counter by the kitchen. In the living Room, there is a 40” flat screen TV with DirecTV programming. There is also a large sofa & 1 wing chair recliner and an additional wing chair. In the winter months, enjoy the fireplace with gas logs with auto starter wall switch.
Also located downstairs is the Master Bedroom and compartmented Master Bath. A single vanity is in with the toilet and is separated by a pocket door from the other area of the Master Bath which contains another single vanity in with the Jacuzzi tub and shower combo. In the Master Bedroom, there is a Queen sized bed and a large dresser as well as an armoire with a 26” TV & DVD player combo. There is a tray ceiling with ceiling fan and a walk-in closet. A French door leads out back to the patio area and in-ground pool which features a multi-colored light system making it perfect for evening swims. The entire back yard is fenced.
Upstairs are 2 bedrooms – one with a full-size bed and one with a twin bed. Both are connected to the full bath upstairs which features a vanity with single sink, walk-in shower with travertine & hand held shower head, as well as travertine floors.

About Jack W. Hess
We live nearby in Long Beach and are available to help out with any questions or info you have about the area while here. We sometime stay at or have family get-togethers at the property ourselves when it's not being rented out. Our 2 golden retrievers love to swim in the pool and lie on the cool concrete floors. We definitely wanted to make our rental pet-friendly because we know how much pets are a part of families now, but also how hard it is to find nice rentals that will accept pets, especially big dogs like labs and goldens.

After looking for property in other beach areas, we visited here about one year post-Katrina & appreciated the small town atmosphere of the area and could see the potential for the MS coast to be rebuilt better than ever. We wanted to help be a part of that rebuilding.
What makes this Cottage unique
We love the privacy of being removed from other houses, but still close enough to neighbors to not feel isolated. We also love that the property is surrounded on several sides by live oak trees giving the property a beautiful backdrop. The great location (close to the beach, grocery shopping, restaurants, hospital, etc) made it ideal for us. Also, adding the pool recently has made the cottage even more of a place to relax and enjoy the beach-area lifestyle.

Beautiful Cottage with Private Pool - Best Vacation Ever
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this impressively beautiful home. The pictures on the website don't do it justice until you see it in person. We loved that we were able to bring our dogs and really enjoyed using the pool in the backyard. It is was a totally relaxing vacation and Long Beach is a really quiet little town. You couldn't ask for nicer owners to lease from and enjoyed talking with Mr. Hess. Mr. Hess was as sweet as could be and very accommodating to us. We had a little bit of car trouble and he recommended a good mechanic to us. The cottage has a binder with all the information regarding restaurant listings and activities in Long Beach and/or surrounding areas which was very helpful. When we didn't cook at the house, we ordered out for pick up from local restaurants or had food delivered when we had our car trouble. Nick's Gyros Philly Cheese Steak is good food and good portions when we ordered for delivery. We weren't impressed with Bull's Restaurant when we ordered food from them. The house is very clean and all the appliances that you would need are available for use. My husband was so impressed, he told me that we definitely needed to book this house again for next year. The place is definitely worth leasing for a week! We look forward to visiting again soon!
Exactly what we were looking for.
This home met all our needs. It was well kept, had a pool, allowed us to bring our dog Josie, and had ample space for the five of us. The location allowed us to make day trips to New Orleans and coastal Alabama. It was close to Gulfport, but far enough away to provide a quiet refuge at the end of the day. Dogs not allowed on the beaches of Harrison County was our only disappointment. We enjoyed the area and are planning on returning for a month or two this winter.
We had a great time staying in this beautiful home. Everything you could possibly need was provided and the pool was fantastic! Enjoyed visiting with the owner, who couldn't have been more nicer, was very helpful and gave us a lot of good tips. Restaurants, shopping, etc. were all close. We hope to go back as soon as we can and enjoy another week of relaxation!! Thank you for sharing your home with us!
We were so very satisfied wth this cottage and all the amenities!!!! It was by far the best vacation we could have asked for. We stayed a week and our 6 yr old couldn't get enough of the private pool that this property offered. Mr Hess was very helpful and a delight to be around. We would surely stay again next yr and also years to come.
Beautiful home on the Mississippi coast
This was a beautiful home with a nice pool on the Mississippi coast.
Quiet home, close to beach!
Our family really enjoyed our stay! The pool was perfect for the kids to swim in when we didn't want to go the beach! We loved that we were able to bring our dogs since they are our family as well, the home was very clean and had plenty of room for all of us! We were able to set up our pack n play (for our 20 month old son) in the master bedroom closet which was very convenient. The local shops in pass Christian were very nice as well, I recommend checking them out! Thank you to the Hess family for the wonderful vacation!
Located in a nice area of Long Beach just a couple of minutes walk to the beach, the cottage is within a few miles of several new restaurants with Gulf views in Long Beach, as well as a marina and public pier. There are also many more restaurants, marinas and attractions within a 30 minute drive in either direction. With a WalMart a couple of miles to the west and grocery stores and pharmacies located only a couple of miles to the east, you can easily make a quick trip to pick up supplies. The closet casino in Gulfport is only about 5 and a half miles away, and there are 10 other casinos within a 20 to 30 minute drive. Hwy 90 runs directly along the beach for 40 miles from Bay St. Louis to the west all the way over to Ocean Springs to the east. This drive is very unique because of its mostly unobstructed view of the Gulf for the entire route plus its abundance of live oak trees all along the route. This drive also features the sweeping views from bridge connecting Bay St. Louis to Pass Christian, as well as the bridge between Biloxi and Ocean Springs. Also, the route takes through 6 distinct towns, all with their unique charm. If you want to go a little further out, you can be in the French Quarter or the Garden District in New Orleans in less than an hour and a half. Just west of New Orleans and also within a 2 hour drive is the Great River Road in Louisiana populated with several magnificent antebellum plantation houses. This whole area offers a variety of activities to take part in or just stay in the peaceful surroundings of the cottage and relax.

1 Week (7 nights) minimum stay required. 12% tax will be added to all rates listed above. No other fees (cleaning fees, processing fees, etc.) will be charged. $250 REFUNDABLE damage deposit (payable by personal check) is required to hold reservation. Pets are welcome with prior approval and $50 REFUNDABLE deposit per pet (payable at same time as damage deposit). Balance of rental amount is due at check-in by cashiers check or cash.
Payment of damage deposit (by personal check) will hold desired dates. Balance (rental amount) will be due upon arrival and check-in in the form of cash or cashier's check.
