Our apartment is located in the W14 district, and is an excellent base to explore London. Set in a leafy quiet residential street, you have numerous local restaurants and pubs a few minutes walk away. The area is also known as Brook Green. Within 10 minutes walk you can be exploring shopping districts like Westfield and High Street Kensington. The famous Portobello market and Notting Hill area are also a short walk or tube ride away.

The property has two bedrooms with double beds overlooking gardens at the back; the bathroom has a shower and bath and plenty of storage; the lounge has beautiful period features, an open fire and a large bay window looking out onto the street; the kitchen is located off the lounge and offers a dishwasher, washing machine, gas cooker with oven and microwave.

Ive been living in the area for 12 years now and we love it. We have two small children and the area is great for parks and for walking into the city via Hyde Park and Kensington Gardens.

Why Sarah Green chose Kensington & Chelsea

Our place is perfect for a city break - it is easy to get into town via bus or tube but when you need to have some quiet time you can easily retreat back to W14 to enjoy the quiet leafy streets (beautiful in the spring when the cherry trees are out), the local pubs and restaurants or just put your feet up in the lounge, have the fire roaring to keep you toasty and read a book. The bedrooms are at the back so are extra quiet and great for a good nights sleep and the church bell gives it a real village feel even though you are only 7 minutes walk to the nearest tube station (shepherds bush central line).

This was perfect for fall break. The kids loved the wifi! (so did mum and dad) Grandma loved having her own room. We will recommend this flat for its fantastic location and all the great extras.

  • The bathroom is up to date with a power shower over the bath and mirrors along the two main walls. There are shelves behind the toilet to store all your items and a towel rail on the back of the door. Towels are provided.

  • Both bedrooms are at the back of the property giving you even more peace and quiet. Bedroom one is the largest of the two bedrooms and has floor to ceiling sliding wardrobes with full length mirrors. There is a selection of books on the shelves to keep you occupied in case you forget to bring your own. Bedroom two is smaller and is kitted with some shelves and a walk in cupboard to hang your clothes.

As you enter the property, you come into a small hall area with the doors to the bedrooms, lounge and bathroom. The lounge door opens into a large high ceiling room with period features such as light fittings and cornices. There is a large sofa and two 'tub' style chairs to relax in whilst you watch TV on the flat screen TV. There is a DVD player for your entertainment. In the bay window, there is a period round wooden table with four seats. The lounge window looks out onto the leafy residential street and is framed by a delightful cherry tree. The kitchen is situated off the lounge and gives you all the usual amenities as listed; the bathroom has been recently decorated with large limestone tiles and has a power shower over the bath; towels are provided. The bedrooms are at the back of the property and the larger of the two bedrooms has lots of storage and hanging space with floor to ceiling mirrors. The smaller double bedroom does have some storage space to hang clothes.

Great apartment

We enjoyed our stay in this London apartment. It was clean, well-equipped, and the owners were very easy to deal with. Metros were a relatively easy walking distance and the neighborhood was quite lovely and felt very safe.

Highly recommend

We (5 persons) had a very lovely week at the apartment! It is clean, at a nice location and has everything you need on a holiday. The Greens provided us with all information already before arrival, made us feel safe and welcome. Sarah responded quickly to our questions and gave us useful tips during our stay. The only slight minus someone might think is that you can hear the neighbours easily but hey! - that's the sound of life ;). Thank you once more!

good place to stay

Flat was comfortable, convenient to Tube, and well stocked. The neighborhood is pleasant, pubs nearby. Shops are a bit distant but within walking distance. A bit ppricey, but within range of typical London charges.

The hosts were available and helpful by phone.

There were some minor problems in using the facilities, because of differences in US-English devices, and in regulating the heat. More detailed instructions would be helpful. Because of the complicated street alignments in London, some more detail on reaching the flat would also be helpful.

Strongly recommend for 2-4 people.

Posto tranquillo ma vicino a metro e negozi

Casa comoda per la posizione e per una piacevole vacanza. Zona residenziale tranquilla tipica inglese con villette a schiera ma vicinissima alla fermata metro Shepherd Bush e centro commerciale Westfield. Spazi ridotti ma adatti per una vacanza, consiglierei una pulizia più accurata in particolare per i tendaggi e la sostituzione della moquette con un pavimento più lavabile e igienico. La proprietaria Sarah disponibilissima. Grazie

W14 is a beautiful location in West London. You get the best of both worlds as it is a short journey to the hustle and bustle of Oxford Circus and Bond Street whilst being a short walk from the River Thames and the leafy spaces of Holland Park; you can jump on a bus to South Kensington to visit the Natural History Museum or Victoria and Albert Museum; or you can stroll down High Street Kensington to check out some shops and cafes which follows into Kensington Gardens and into Knightsbridge. Locally, there are some great restaurants and cafes for breakfast or a leisurely coffee or you can visit some of our well known local gastropubs. We are a 15 minute walk to the River Thames where you can enjoy a drink whilst watching the world pass by. The latest addition to the area is 'Westfield' which is 10 minutes walk towards Shepherds Bush - this is currently Europe's largest shopping centre.
