About the property

Studio Guest House on Dabob Bay, Hood Canal, Olympic Peninsula

At the Dabob Bay Guest House You’ll enjoy a beautiful nature escape with rare west-facing views of Dabob Bay, beautiful sunsets over snow-capped Olympic Mtns, and prime shellfish beach. Truly a couples retreat with shared perennial gardens and one of the nicest beaches on Hood Canal. This studio guest home will accommodate 2.

Living Area & Kitchen

The living area and kitchen occupy one side of the studio, complete with a small table, full fridge, stove top/microwave and mini oven. Living area has over-sized chairs for your comfort. Satellite TV/DVD player and mini stereo w/CD player.

Sleeping Area

The sleeping area is separated from the living area & kitchen by a gorgeous antique walnut wardrobe. Features include a queen-size lux bed, side tables with lamp, two dressers, a vanity and partial west-facing views of Dabob Bay and the snow-capped Olympic Mountains. Here’s where you relax after your day on the beach and capture the beautiful sunsets and western skies.

The bath is amazing. This bath does not feature a shower, the cast iron spa tub with handheld shower head does the job. Above counter sink, granite counter top, and hand-made tile floor.

Pristine Dabob Bay is highly sought after for its abundant shellfish and warm clear waters. The trail to the beach has a bridge over a creek, stairs, and easy natural trail through the woods. The woods open up to the beach which features SAND at the landward edge, then graduates to a more rocky terrain to clam and oyster beds. If you stay during low tides, this beach also has quite a long natural shelf with a very gradual run off – perfect for beach combing and swimming.

*Note: Owner’s family and dogs are on property. Dabob Bay Guest House is a detached Additional Dwelling Unit next to owner’s home. The experience is wonderful, the dogs are very sweet, but we want you to know what you’re getting.

Guestbook comments from the manager

After arriving, we were greeted by one of the adorable dogs who led us down to the bay - what a character - just adds to the charm! The Guest House is a wonderful getaway. We especially loved the setting, views, jacuzzi bathtub, and beautiful walk to the bay. We'll return for sure! Would love to return for a week-long stay - thanks for everything!

Amazing Stay!

  • 5 of 5

I originally going to spend 4 nights here at The Guest House, I really enjoyed the stay here in Dabob Bay so I decided to end up canceling my stay in Seattle and extended another 3 nights. I loved waking up every morning to look out the stunning views of Mountains and the lake. The bed is really comfortable, enjoyed using the bath and having a small kitchen with fridge was really handy to have. There was a lot things to go and see around the Area like Port Townsend and Poulsbo if you got transport with you which I really enjoyed as well. I have stayed in Downtown Seattle before for 10 days and I have to say I really enjoyed my time here in Dabob Bay a lot more than my trip in Downtown Seattle as it felt home to me.

Jillian who is the owner of the place was absolutely fantastic host, loved her company and is also a great cook. The dogs on the property were adorable, I wanted to take those dogs home with me and they were always with you around, looked after you. Followed me down the trail to the beach and played about.

I have to say that I am definitely coming back here for a week again. Thank you so much!

Adorable Guest House on the Bay

  • 5 of 5

Are you looking for privacy in your get-away vacation? We spent 4 nights on the Dabob Bay and enjoyed every minute. The property is beautiful and located on the water. Two polite border collie ambassadors showed us the way down the nature trail and on to the beach.

The tasteful guest house decor included comfy chairs and antiques. The kitchen had all the nesssary utensils needed and even had all the tools needed to enjoy the local clans and oysters we gathered on the private beach. The bed was comfortable with its luxurious linen sheets. Please note: the bathroom does not gab a shower although the large tub does have a handheld version, and the guest house is not air conditioned.

A personal note, my husband left his very expensive hearing aids in the table. The owner, Jillian emailed me to ask if they were his and then FEDEX'ed them immediately. So far and above the usual call-of-duty!! She was the perfect host proving directions and personal attention when we asked.

We will be back! I highly recommend this property.

Beautiful, secluded getaway

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful stay. The unit is super clean and comfortable with great furniture and amenities, in a very beautiful and secluded setting. The owners have two very sweet border collies who showed us the way to the beach. It's a bit of a drive to the nearest gas, groceries, and restaurants so be sure to plan ahead!

Amazing spot!

  • 5 of 5

Our stay at this property was everything we imagined and more. When we arrived we were greeted with a property that looked just like in the pictures. Everything was immaculately clean and Jill's two super friendly border collies gave us a warm welcome. We brought some groceries and after that the property had absolutely everything we needed and more. After meeting Jill she also assured us that should we need anything else she could help us out. While we were staying at Dabob Bay we rented a row boat and crab pot from Jim, another local to the area. He was the nicest guy and got us fully decked out with all the gear we needed to go out crabbing! That ended up being a total blast and we caught several big legal sized crabs a few hundred feet out from the beach. We also ended up getting wonderful clams and oysters from that very same beach. We feasted on seafood every night! Overall the experience and the hospitality was so good we decided to extend our stay an extra night, and it would have been longer if we didn't have to get back to the real world!

Wonderful Romantic Retreat !!!

  • 5 of 5

This property offers a wonderful, romantic retreat that will enchant you upon arrival and break your heart upon departure. We had a reservation at another property that fell through at the last moment due to the non-disclosure of inadequate plumbing at the time of booking. What a happy accident! The owner of this amazing, romantic hideaway responded quickly to our inquiry, quickly put us at ease and welcomed us to their retreat on extremely short notice.

The cottage, gardens and grounds are extraordinary. The owners are present and available but discrete. The furnishings were artful, comfortable and complete. Indeed, we tried to devise a secret plan to sneak the incredible armoire away in our small rental car but quickly thought better of it. I have never seen such an amazing piece of furniture in a vacation rental. It is both beautiful and clever in its use.

Everything about the cottage is so well done that you may be tempted to spend your entire holiday inside. But don't. A garden path leads you down through a magical, fern filled forest and deposits you on a quite beach and into yet another world filled with clear water, oysters, clams and bald eagles. We took a couple bottles of wine and enjoyed a whole afternoon on the beach and saw nothing but our own happy shadows. THIS is what we were looking for...Pacific Northwest Paradise!

Wonderful, romantic cottage. Luxurious bed and bath. Delightful hosts. Amazing forest and beach.

Do yourself a favor and spend a few days here remembering what life is about. You'll be the better for it.
