Ca' dell' Artista is a second and last floor apartment facing one of Dorsoduro's most lovely canals (Rio delle Romite). It offers high ceilings with original wooden beams, great views, plenty of indoor space, a large furnished terrace to the middle/side overlooking neighbouring gardens and a dainty little terrace to the front which faces the canal.
It is composed of a spacious living room painted in a Venetian green, a dining area, an open-style kitchen, a double bedroom facing a garden with en-suite bathroom with shower, a double with twins and a bathroom with bathtub.
It is a superb apartment completely restored to the highest standards to guarantee maximum comfort, space and pleasure.
We had an excellent experience with the Views on Venice staff who assisted us with booking and while we were in Venice. They took care of all of our needs and had excellent suggestions to make our stay more memorable. The apartment we stayed in was beautiful and well appointed. We would highly recommend Views on Venice to anyone traveling to Venice!
Great location. We really liked this part of Venice, close to restaurants and bars and the Zatere, yet very peaceful at night being door to a convent. And less than 30 mins walk to Rialto and St Marks Square. The appartment is well done up, and almost everything you need. Good wifi, kitchen equipment, huge fridge. Everything sceptic for a tumble drier. It is perfectly sized for two couples and has a pretty view over a small canal from the sitting room. The only downside is the entrance which very scruffy , actually it's a building site, and twice was flooded by the builders next door. Also we had expected to be able to sit out on the balcony with a canal view, but the terrace is behind the kitchen and looks over someone's garden. Anyway that didn't bother us much as the weather was so good we were out all day so all in all we were very happy with the appartment. And the Views OVer Venice staff to meet & greet us and check us out were very helpful and efficient.
Four of us, two couples, stayed here for 6 nights. The apartment is quite large and on the 2nd (top) floor, Americans would say 3rd floor, with no lift. We liked:
Excellent location facing quiet canal, but accessible and near good shops and restaurants, the Grand Canal and the Giudecca Canal.
The terrazzo floors and the polished plaster walls.
The air con, really effective without being obtrusive.
The Views on Venice guide is 204 pages long, and has perceptive restaurant reviews.
Well, nothing really, though the wifi speed varied between 5mps and 0.1mps (mostly the latter), you don't want to spend all your holiday on the internet, do you?
This is the third apartment I have stayed in when in Venice, and it is the best, though the most expensive. You get what you pay for. We would be happy to return.
A very pretty spacious apartment in a quiet part of Venice. The apartment was very comfortable and the staff was helpful. I would suggest that you give your guests the choice of taking the water bus or the water taxi. Inform them of the difference in price and duration of the trip. We would have preferred being met at the train station and taken a water taxi even though it is more expensive.
This was by far the nicest place we stayed in Italy. It was extremely comfortable and well equipped. The location was quiet but perfectly convenient. The Views on Venice team could not have been more accommodating and went the extra mile to make sure we were set for early transportation to the airport. We will definitely stay with Views on Venice again!
The location of this apartment is excellent; quiet neighborhood just off the "main highway" of foot traffic. One of the best kept secret restaurants is one minute away. AC works great, really nothing to complain about.
We were two couples sharing this lovely apartment for a week. It was spacious, and very well located in the Dorsoduro area of Venice. It was fitted with modern appliances and furnishings. It is probably better suited to a family than two couples, as the second bedroom and bathroom are not up to the same standard as the primary or master bedroom and its ensure.
