Location: Bethel Island, Delta Area, Central Valley, California, USA (Property Near Bethel Island on East San Francisco bay )
Accommodations: Cottage, 1 Bedroom, 1 Bath (Sleeps 3-4)
We are located on the California Delta an area of over 1000 miles of water ways. It is a haven for fishing, boating, skiing, jet-skiing and viewing wild life. Our cottage is new construction and is floating on the water with a large covered deck area and covered room for two boats to tie up. We are just over 10 minutes to Frank's track and fast water. We are located in the middle of the Delta giving you access to all the areas. In the summer there is an abundance of fresh fruit and vegtables from local farm's markets. Napa and San Francisco are just over one hour drive away.
We provide linens and dishes. There is a patio with a table and plenty of outdoor sitting with a small bar-b-que. You can swim right off the dock or use our small boat to tour the river. There is plenty of free parking for you and your boat trailer. There is a queen bed and a day bay that converts to two twins, room for four. There is a small kitchen area with a dining area. The bathroom has a shower and the whole cottage has hot water.
We moved to the California Delta for fresh air and access to the water sports. The location is perfect for an avid bass fisherman where one can fish in any of the over 1000 miles of water right out the door.
Shawn and Dung Eckel purchased this cottage in 2009
The Delta is a magical piece of California for those who love the water. You are close to San Francisco, Napa and to any outdoor activity you can think of. It is calm, peaceful, filled with beautiful birds and plenty of cute animals like otters and seals. The cottage is designed to look East coast in style and is nothing but the best quality making your stay all the better.
You can have access to the water, but privacy as no one is directly on either side. You can swim safely or fish right off the dock. You have your own private large deck and docks. All the amenities like restaurants, movies and shopping are only a few miles away. This is one of the primer fishing destinations of the world.
My buddy and I arrived on July 17. The cottage was very clean and accommodations were great. They even provided towels.
Fridge, microwave, grill included for cooking purposes.
Walk outside the sliding glass door and the dock for my boat was right there.
Great stay and very relaxing. Owners very nice and easy to work with.
I'd go back and I will definilty recommend to my friends!
Ok. I have to absolutely agree with the other comments and tell you how sweet the owners are. Very pleasant and are very assuring that she will be there for anything you may need. It is cozy, quiet, private, and relaxing. It was very nice that the fridge and freezer had plenty of bait to use as well. There were only a couple things that I didn't like. It wasn't perfectly clean but that wasn't what bothered me......I pulled out the trundle bed and found a couple mice droppings and tiny yellow pee spots. So I put it back and didn't end up using it. That piqued my interest so I looked around. Noticed a ton of dropping in the bathroom behind the toilet and around sink. My only other Concern was that the sheets on the queen bed didn't look clean. I saw dog hair on them and they didn't exactly have the fresh laundry scent. They looked slept in. I'm not super picky but thought that these were things that should definitely have been noticed and taken care of prior to our arrival. I found some Lysol wipes and did a scrub down. But other than that it is quite adorable and quiet. Unfortunately we didn't catch anything but one catfish.
I don't want this to be a negative review cause my issues could have been a honest mistake. It is a mini house on the dock, so very possible a mouse could be hanging around. The sheets on the trundle looked clean besides what I saw. It truly is a gem! I would stay again I just wanted to post this so that extra precaution is taken to assure this doesn't occur again.
The cottage was nice for a weekend getaway. Great view of the delta. The owners were real nice even had a little trolling boat for you to use too. Can't wait to come back next month.

This is a fun, enjoyable and relaxing place to spend a few days or even a week. The cottage is right on the water. Step out of the sliding door and you're on a well-maintained dock with boat slips and benches to sit on while fishing and relaxing. The dock has a ladder so you can swim in the beautiful Delta water. Your hosts, June and Shawn, are a friendly couple and are extremely helpful. They try very hard to meet all your needs to make your visit pleasant. I highly recommend this Cottage -- its clean and comfortable -- a great place to stay Our first visit was in August 2012. My wife and I brought our boat and mostly fished from the dock, enjoying a nice BBQ while relaxing in the sun on the patio. The second time, I went with my brother for two days in September 2013 to do some great cat fishing. We fished both during the day and at night and caught 25 beautiful white, brown and channel catfish using night crawlers. Most of the fish were 12 to 14 inches long -- a nice ice-chest full to take home. Again, I had a great time and plan on returning at least twice a year......Give them a call. You won't be sorry!!!
If your looking for a cute little cottage getaway on the water in the California Delta this is a dream come true. It is one of the most relaxing and quite places we have stayed in a very long time. There was no one around 99% of the time. The cottage is cute studio type living and has everything you would need to getaway for a few days. There is a 12 Bass Tracker boat and canoe the owner lets you use. You can fish of the dock deck just outside the front door along with BBQ'ing at the same time.
The one thing that I was really surprise at was that bed was so comfortable actually better then some of the best hotels I have stayed in. My hat is off to the owners.
As I stated the cottage has everything you need, living/sleeping area with TV, small kitchen with all the basics, and full bath. Linen and towel are provide, but bring you own soap and shampoo.
We would recommend this place to couples that want to get away from it all. We will be back.
Cannot praise the owners, the cottage or the location enough. The best weekend ever! We felt welcome from the moment we arrived, and felt like family by the time we left. Quiet, relaxing and fun.Plenty of big fish around for the serious angler, and smaller ones if the bigger ones aren't biting. We (my wife and I) are already looking at the calendar to book another stay. Can't wait!
Welcome to Jo's Delta Cottage

We are close to San Francisco and Napa Valley and only 45 minutes from Oakland Airport.
'I have been meaning to thank you again for allowing my family to spend the weekend at your lovely cottage on the delta. We really enjoyed ourselves and will definitely come again if you will have us.. Respectfully yours, Gina A'
'Most folks in the Bay Area 'get away' to the coast or up to Napa/Sonoma, but the Delta is a hidden jewel, and we were so blessed to find this spot on our first overnight trip. It is simply heaven, a light-filled studio floating on a dock, connected to the 'mainland' by a gangplank. We could walk out the door and jump in the water, or set off to explore the sloughs in the two-seater kayak or little motor-boat, both included in the rental and likewise floating in a slip right out the door. The efficiency kitchen and grill had everything we needed for cooking all weekend (except for a toaster, but I bet they will correct that as soon as they see this review). It was quiet, private, and COMPLETELY RELAXING. Jo Ella was the perfect host: always available, never intrusive. We could barely drag ourselves away, and we'll definitely be back! ' Pam C'
