We loved the location and home! It exceeded our expectations. I think it was the most well stocked and decorated home I have ever rented on vacay! We will definitely be back...
We had a wonderful time. The house provided us ample room to spread out and have alone time. Very clean. Very home like.
The Tree House is a great location, very clean and comfortable house. Awesome game room for the kids.
The Treehouse is simply amazing! I tend to worry when I book places out of our "norm", however this was one of the best places we have ever stayed. Others have already stated that it is well equipped, and that is not an understatement! We never left one time over our weekend stay. We brushed up on our ping pong skills, watched a movie, had a lively game of monopoly, taught the kids about those ancient things called typewriters, read by the fire, roasted marshmallows, made smores and just simply enjoyed ourselves. The location is beautiful. The decor is warm and inviting. From the moment you step inside, you feel like you are home.
The only negatives (if you can call them that) was as someone else stated- the hot water is very limited so that didn't make for the steamiest bath in the jacuzzi tub. Also, the hall bathroom shower head hanger has been broken and we didn't attempt to use it because the head was pointed outside of the tub and I foresaw that as a disaster with children. Neither one was enough to detract from such a wonderful stay!
My son (age 10) is "bored" often, but I didn't hear one peep of boredom the whole weekend! My daughter (age 12) enjoyed sitting by the fire and watching high school volleyball. It was a successful weekend away & we look forward to perhaps a longer stay next time! Thank you for allowing us into your sanctuary!
When we arrived the first thing I remember thinking was the pictures on this site do not do this rental justice. It is such a lovely home. We were visiting for the weekend to see my sister perform at App State.I booked this house after experiencing two crowded hotel stays. There was plenty of room for 6 adults and 2 kids. The Beds were all comfortable I slept in the queen sized bed with my 91 year old Nana and we both slept well. The kids loved roasting marshmallows around the firepit. We ladies loved hanging out on the front porch. This is a place all ages can enjoy. I loved how close it was to many of the places I love to visit. We will definitely come back again! Thank you to the Millers for making this a wonderful weekend getaway
The property is great but there were a few things less than pleasant for our stay. The main level of the house was covered with flying insects. Apparently it is a "known" issue. For this reason, we spent majority of our time in the basement/game room when we were there. The master is downstairs in the basement and there is not a shower down there. Be aware you will be separated from your children which I wasn't comfortable with. The VCR was no longer there and the arcade games didn't work. The kitchen cabinets were full of out of date (up to 5 years) old dry/can/spice foods. The drawers in the bathrooms had personal belongings such as sanity items and hair brushes. The bed sheets were not on the beds and we spent 20 min at 10 PM hunting around for the correct size sheets. The spreads were on and we didn't know the sheets were not underneath. That was a huge problem. It felt like we were spending the night at someones home but they weren't there. Just an odd feeling. The view is just of trees and there road noise is loud when you are outside. The back fire pit area was the best part of the property. Be aware there is not much food close by.
Sit back, relax, and enjoy the privacy in this 6+ acre setting. Sit outside around the fire pit or on one of the two porches and watch the world go by. There is a steak/seafood restaurant at the bottom the hill. You won't go hungry! The Jeffersons with their small town feel are only 10 minutes away with more restaurants, old-time movie theater, the cheese factory, shopping, antique stores and art galleries. Beautiful views are all around you everywhere you go. In 30 minutes, you can be in Boone or Blowing Rock for shopping, enjoying Tweetsie Railroad with the kids, or snow skiing. Other ski slopes are only a 45 minute drive. The Blueridge Parkway is only a 1/4 mile away--a beautiful and relaxing drive.
Take advantage of all there is to offer!
