Summer is almost booked, so now it is time for our FALL SPECIAL! Book 2 night nights and get one FREE!
You have found the only vacation rental on beautiful Duck Harbor Pond. At 2 miles long and a half mile wide, it is not a 'pond' but a private glacial lake, perfect for any water sport.
Pack your clothes, personal items, and food. We provide most everything else. A detailed list may be requested. We are only 3 hours from NYC and Philadelphia. Lehigh Valley is only 2 hours away.
Enjoy the calmness of the lake in the morning, afternoon activities, and evening sunsets from the rocking chairs on the covered porch. Our resident Blue Herons and Bald Eagles can be seen frequently.
Family fun and enjoyment was the focus of our design. We considered families with special needs by including a handicap ramp and 36 inch doorways on the main floor.
New this year is a 40 inch flat screen in the living room and a 32 inch flat screen in the Master bedroom.
Guests with allergies will do well in this house since there are all wood floors with no carpeting, no pets, and no smoking.
* We are in a rural area and currently only have Verizon cell service. We provide free long distance calling from our land line.
Although we focus on families, this is ideal for couples or any group of 6 or less.
Honest and hard working are words we have heard to describe us. We have shared many adventures in the 42 years we have been married. Although we are both technically 'retired', we are always working on a project. In the fall of 2011, we purchased a run down cottage on Duck Harbor Pond. Over the winter we tore it down and in the spring of 2012 we started building this new log cabin. The design and most of the labor was done by us. We hope you will appreciate our pride in workmanship and love every minute you spend in our cabin.
Elaine Wells purchased this cabin in 2011
We are blessed to be permanent residents in our own log cabin at Duck Harbor Pond. Sharing our piece of 'Paradise' with others in our new vacation rental cabin has been a great pleasure.
ECO-Friendly and respect for nature and our environment. The logs and all wood are locally grown and processed. From the lights and windows to the appliances and granite, our choices reflect energy efficiency and organic materials.
Our family stayed at this lovely log cabin on peaceful Duck Harbor for a week and thoroughly enjoyed it. Elaine, the owner , was so very helpful and hospitable. She is very quick to answer any emails and questions . The cabin is a home away from home , Elaine has thought of all the small details to make your stay easy and comfortable. The property is very clean and well kept. We rented a kayak (Northeast Wilderness) for a few days and had a ball on the lake. Just sitting on the porch or dock and watching the sunsets was so beautiful. We've been at this lake before and were so happy to see this log cabin listed. The home is perfect for a family gathering . We will definitely visit this property again and many thanks to Elaine and Jim .
If you bring a tube or raft, don't forget rope to tie onto the dock to pass the day away floating.
After staying at this cabin on Duck Harbor Pond, I can say this rental is even greater than it looks in the photos. Upon walking into the cabin, we were greeted with the fresh smell of the Pocono woods. The cabin is spotlessly clean and perfectly laid out. The living area leads to a porch with a gorgeous view of the lake. We enjoyed the peaceful view over our morning coffee every day. We swam in the lake and rented kayaks from the NEWE brochure conveniently left in the cabin desk. With the 24 hour kayak rental, we were able to spend a day kayaking and even go out for a bit the next morning. The cabin was well stocked with anything you might need: linens, cooking supplies, toiletries, entertainment and even a first aid kit! The cabin is conveniently supplied with a landline and wireless access for anyone who does not have Verizon service, such as myself. The owner, Elaine, stopped by our first morning at the lake to make sure we had everything we needed. She made us feel completely comfortable reaching out if we needed anything, although we never had cause to. Thank you, Jim and Elaine, for sharing your lakeside escape with us! We are looking forward to another stay on Duck Harbor Pond!!
My wife and I had a wonderful weekend away with friends. The cabin and pond were beautiful and Elaine and Jim were fabulous hosts. Everything was better than we expected. Thank you.
I simply can not rave enough about this house! It is beyond immaculate! Truly spotless!!!! Elaine has thought of EVERYTHING you could need. Seriously everything. All you need to do is to pack clothes - the rest is taken care of! The whole house is unbelievably clean, well laid out AND child friendly. What can I say about the location except that it is perfect. Simply perfect. You immediately feel relaxed upon arrival. The lake is quiet and serene. The neighbors are lovely. The yard is perfect for the children to play in. The lake is easily accessible for the children. The list can go on and on.
Also you could not ask for a more attentive owner. Elaine was very quick to answer a text or call and went out of her way to assist us in finding a clinic to see my child when he had an ear infection. She even called the next day to check up on him! So kind and thoughtful.
In short, We loved our stay last summer and are counting down the days until we can return this and many more summers to come.
The house was beautiful! Very clean and stocked with all of the essentials so you just need to pack your clothes and food!
The lake is very pretty, great views and overall a wonderful relaxing weekend! Will definitely be back!
