Located just 2 miles south of Kailua Kona on Ali’i Drive, the nearby area offers many opportunities for exploring the ocean, exquisite shopping, and dining at the mouth-watering variety of restaurants. Decided you want the comfort of a home-cooked meal? Grocery stores are conveniently nearby, as are a few local farmer’s markets which feature handmade goods and fresh local produce. The kitchen is fully furnished with appliances, cookware and utensils. Also available in the unit are plush linens, towels, beach towels, beach mats, and even a cooler so you’ll feel even more at home here. Also a rarity in Kailua, Kona Nalu is one of the few that has an elevator available for handicapped accessibility.
Step out onto the spacious lanai and let your eyes feast on the breathtaking ocean view as the revitalizing sounds of the ocean sing to your ears. Easily accessed by sliding doors from the master bedroom or living room, the lanai partially overhangs the pool so you have an unobstructed view of the reef, tides, and beach. Breakfast, lunch, late-afternoon appetizers or drinks, and almost mandatory dinners at sunset all happen here. Cool sea breezes embrace you, and the fresh air is welcomed further in by ceiling fans in each room. Drink in the moment—you are truly in paradise.
You won't forget that you’re only steps away from a sandy beach just outside the seawall gate. Just to the north and south are reef-protected lagoons where sea turtles are frequently seen. It’s also very common to see surfers, kayakers, or snorkelers on their ocean adventure and if you book during the winter, you’ll even see pods of dolphins and whales during their winter migration. It’s a great place to walk, soak up the sun, and explore.
In October, the famous Kona Ironman Triathlon is held. Our location allows you to watch the athletes running south, then north on Ali’i Drive as they complete the final 26.2 mile running leg of the Triathlon.
