Enjoy your Hawaiian vacation at this 1,200 square foot, 2-bedroom, 2-bath second-floor condo in a private 15-unit oceanfront complex. Located just 2 miles south of Kailua Kona on Ali’i Drive, the nearby area offers many opportunities for exploring the ocean, exquisite shopping, and dining at the mouth-watering variety of restaurants. Decided you want the comfort of a home-cooked meal? Grocery stores are conveniently nearby, as are a few local farmer’s markets which feature handmade goods and fresh local produce. The kitchen is fully furnished with appliances, cookware and utensils. Also available in the unit are plush linens, towels, beach towels, beach mats, and even a cooler so you’ll feel even more at home here. Also a rarity in Kailua, Kona Nalu is one of the few that has an elevator available for handicapped accessibility.
Step out onto the spacious lanai and let your eyes feast on the breathtaking ocean view as the revitalizing sounds of the ocean sing to your ears. Easily accessed by sliding doors from the master bedroom or living room, the lanai partially overhangs the pool so you have an unobstructed view of the reef, tides, and beach. Breakfast, lunch, late-afternoon appetizers or drinks, and almost mandatory dinners at sunset all happen here. Cool sea breezes embrace you, and the fresh air is welcomed further in by ceiling fans in each room. Drink in the moment—you are truly in paradise.
You won't forget that you’re only steps away from a sandy beach just outside the seawall gate. Just to the north and south are reef-protected lagoons where sea turtles are frequently seen. It’s also very common to see surfers, kayakers, or snorkelers on their ocean adventure and if you book during the winter, you’ll even see pods of dolphins and whales during their winter migration. It’s a great place to walk, soak up the sun, and explore.
In October, the famous Kona Ironman Triathlon is held. Our location allows you to watch the athletes running south, then north on Ali’i Drive as they complete the final 26.2 mile running leg of the Triathlon.
So, please consider spending a week or two in our Hawaiian paradise. You can get in touch with us from the Contact page. We look forward to hearing from you.

The condo was great and so relaxing. Loved the way it was decorated in a tropical theme. It had a great location and the view was to die for! The Lanai sold us and it didn't disappoint. If we come back to the big island, we will definitely be renting this condo again!
Our stay was nothing but exceptional! The condo is simply beautiful and offers anything and everything you could possibly need to make your stay not only comfortable but perfect. The condo felt like home from the moment we walked in until the very difficult moment when we had to depart to return home and back to "real life." The furniture is comfortable, the condo itself was spacious, and the owners have thought of everything in terms of boogie boards, snorkel gear, etc. for their guests. The location of the condo is wonderful too! Just down the road is a lovely little beach where we saw sea turtles almost every time we were on the beach! There is a great restaurant Huggos just down the road, coffee tasting at Greenwell Farms, hiking the volcano was one of our all time favorite activities, visiting the waterfalls, going to a lu'au, and just enjoying everything that the Big Island had to offer! The lanai at the condo was the perfect start and end to every day. This place is truly a little slice of heaven! We could not have had a better experience!
No point repeating what the reviewers below have stated. We couldn't have had a better experience. The unit is fantastic and in a great location. The main issue is that once you get on the lanai - where you can view whales, dolphins and spectacular sunsets - you may not want to go anywhere else.
Just returned to the mainland -- our stay here at Kona Nalu was unforgettable! So great, that I am not sure I want everybody else to know how perfect it was -- I need to make sure I will still be able to book the place on a return trip!
The unit has everything - coffee grinder (must have for Kona coffee!), blender, microwave, dishwasher, washer/dryer, tons of beach towels, fresh towels, lovely bathrooms - one includes an oversize tub, comfortable beds, comfy oversize furniture in the living room, ceiling fans in all rooms and on the lanai - wonderful! And the lanai - WOW! Huge! Amazing view morning, evening, and all moments in between! Great lanai table for dinner with friends and a 2nd smaller table perfect for morning coffee or a glass of wine at sunset... And sunset from this lanai is STUNNING! Nice small pool - we usually had it to ourselves. Expect crashing waves at night, but we loved it and found it lulled us to sleep, and made us aware of how amazingly oceanfront this spot really is.
BEST secret?! Turtle beach is just about two buildings away. It's a small cove that the sea turtles love to visit. Turtles came to visit every time we did. Amazing!
Paul at Front Desk was so great about unit arrangements. The whole experience was perfect. So much to do on Big Island and such a perfectly wonderful place to call home while visiting! Thanks again for everything!!!!
We are now home to winter again and wanted to thank you for the accommodations which you provided for us in Kona. The unit was exactly as advertised and we loved the location, the amenities, the sound of the surf and the evening sunsets.
Breakfast each morning and a cocktail while watching the sunset on the huge lanai will be lasting memories for us. We use one of the sunset photos as our screensaver.
The location allowed us to walk/run along Alii drive each morning , allowed quick access to the main Kona bypasses and easy access to the local beaches(walkable) and the town itself.
Our favorite restaurant was Jackie Rey's ,less than a mile away and the renowned(trip advisor) Da Poke shack is walking distance.
Thanks again for your service,
My dad and I stayed here for 8 nights in April 2013. We LOVED it! We couldn't wait to get back to the condo from our daily activities to enjoy a nice glass of wine on the Lanai. It is really ocean front! You couldn't get much closer without getting wet. We saw turtles, a wedding, and many beautiful sunsets from here. It's nice and close to town, but not too close. Great parking, we felt like locals.
I have almost all pro's.... Lanai.... ***** five star. It's large, beds were very comfortable, nice washer/dryer unit, location was great! Cons.. no air conditioning, which is fine for the bedroom on the ocean, the breeze from the lanai was plenty to cool off the place. My bedroom, on the street side got a bit hot, and even though there is a nice ceiling fan, wasn't enough. It's fine if you open the window, which I did, but there is a lot of noise from the street, a rooster and lots of other birds at 5 am. I got used to it, and didn't mind a bit. This place is perfect otherwise. One more small con, would be it has an older tv, it could use some up-dating with a new flat screen. Well, who goes to Hawaii to watch tv anyway? The people at the "Front Desk" Paul couldn't have been nicer. I would stay here every time I come to Kona! I enjoyed the atmosphere and happy hour food (yummy fish taco's) & drinks at the "Huggo's" beach bar and also liked the Mai Tai's at Don's. Snorkeling was the best at the little reef just south of this place, Kahaluu Beach Park. It gets crowded in the afternoon, so go there in the morning. Best white sand beach was Hapuna, we really enjoyed boogie boarding there (board is at the condo). The condo also had a nice cooler on wheels. I can't wait to go back!
