About the property

2 bedroom, 2 bathroom, sleeps 5

Our cabin is very secluded and nestled deep in the woods on Rich Mountain. Filled with beautiful, rustic decor and a wood burning fire place, everything you need is already there, just bring your clothes and food.

There are 2 bedrooms (each with a queen size bed), 2 bathrooms, a futon couch/bed, a screened porch and an open porch. The screened porch has a gas grill, picnic table and rocking chairs for you to enjoy the scenery.

Outdoors there is a cocktail patio with a fire pit, picnic table and chairs for cooking out.

There is a fully-equipped kitchen, complete with: dish ware, silverware, glassware, tupperware, pots, pans, cookie sheets, coffee maker (filters provided), toaster, microwave, cutting boards, oven gloves, paper towels, napkins, kitchen towels, dishwasher, washer/dryer (you get the picture).

Wood burning, stone fireplace (firewood included), as well as, central heat & air will keep you warm on cold nights and cool during the warm days of summer. But if it’s not too warm, you might want to leave the windows open to allow the soothing sounds of the night to lull you to sleep.

The family room has a flat screen TV, with satellite and DVD player (many family oriented DVDs included). Additionally, each bedroom has a mounted flat screen TV. Wireless internet included, at no extra charge. Puzzles, board games and playing cards are also provided.

WE ARE DOG FRIENDLY FOR WELL-BEHAVED, CLEAN DOGS.

When you are out and about, you can explore the quaint towns of Blue Ridge (10 miles away) and Ellijay (7 miles away) with their art galleries and antique shops. Visit one of the many orchards in the fall and enjoy the great local peaches, apples and produce available year-round. You MUST try a fried pie!

If you enjoy being active, you will enjoy zip lining, hiking the Appalachian Trail, biking, tubing, boating, fishing, white-water rafting, horseback riding or a scenic train ride to Tennessee. Several brochures are at the cabin for contact information and directions to these activities.

Your perfect romantic getaway, lazy retreat, ladies timeout, birthday or anniversary trip. Our cabin is always spotlessly clean and fresh.

Enjoy the peace and quiet of mountain solitude, with easy accessibility on dual lane highways, only 90 minutes from Atlanta.

About Clare Anderson

We are a retired couple from Atlanta, GA. We love the mountains (and our small dogs do too) and try to spend as much time there as possible. We always stop and get fresh produce and pies to enjoy when we get home and to share with our neighbors.

Clare Anderson purchased this cabin in 2008

Why Clare Anderson chose North Georgia Mountains

This area is close to Atlanta but looks nothing like the big city. You will find black bear, wild turkey and any number of other wildlife roaming freely in the woods. Close to the city for convenience but once you arrive you will see and feel none of the city.

What makes this cabin unique

The floor plan is perfect for couples or family as each side has it's own bedroom and bathroom, no sharing :)

The screened porch has no access but from inside the cabin which makes it safe for small pets and children.

Great Stay

  • 5 of 5

House was very clean & well stocked (except for cleaning products for the kitchen). Clare was very easy to work with & helpful. Our only issue was that the satellite tv didn't work. After calling the company twice, it still wasn't resolved, although Clare did everything possible to help us. Unfortunately, we were wedding venue shopping so we were not able to just sit around for 4 hours waiting on a repairman. Great visit & our small complication was definitely not a reflection on the home or its owner. We would certainly return!

Beautiful cabin, beautiful area!

  • 5 of 5

This cabin was beautiful, extremely clean/new looking, and decorated to suit the outdoor setting (wood furniture, bear and moose motif). We are usually tent campers so this was all luxurious to us! It actually snowed twice (what a fun spring break!) while were there and the fireplace was so nice to have; firewood was provided (although the central heat worked great as well). If you like to cook your own meals, everything you need is at the cabin: microwave, stove, coffee maker, toaster, crock pot, small gas grill with tools, propane, dishes, cookware, paper towels, even some condiments, and we were able to make very nice meals. We tend to have a lot of leftovers when we cook, so you might want to bring some zip lock bags or small plastic containers for storage as there are only a few of those in the pantry. There are two queen bedrooms, each with a bathroom (one is accessible from the main living area as well), and the couch converts to a futon for an extra person or if someone needs their own space! The location is about 15 minutes from Blue Ridge to the north or Ellijay to the south. It is also a close driving distance to a few short hiking trails (which we took advantage of) and within an hour of some longer ones (we're already planning some of those for a return trip). The cabin is not extremely secluded, but you can't see the few neighboring cabins and it was very quiet while we were there. Our group included my husband and I, my active mom, my college-age daughter, and our dog. Everyone enjoyed this place immensely. If you love nature and comfort this is the place to be! Also: excellent "customer service" from Clare. To reviewer Suzanne F W: I noticed there is a cheese grater now!

Just What the Doctor Ordered!

  • 4 of 5

Our little family needed a long weekend away to recharge and reconnect and this cabin provided just that. The property is fairly secluded, super cozy, and perhaps one of the cleanest rental properties we have ever stayed in! The property was just far enough away from town to unwind, but still convenient to delicious local BBQ (The Pink Pig), grocery stores, and the Expedition Bigfoot Museum, which was an unexpected gem. We will definitely recommend this cabin to friends.

Perfect for 2 couples

  • 5 of 5

We were here the first weekend of November and had beautiful weather. The cabin was perfect for two couples, and we found everything we needed for our stay. We did need a cheese grater in the kitchen, but that was a small inconvenience compared to all that was provided. The directions Clare sent took us right to the cabin, but be aware you will be on a gravel road, so dusty, muddy, etc. Thus said there was no difficulty getting to the cabin. We enjoyed the fire pit at night, and used the grill for steaks. There was plenty of necessities, toilet paper, paper towels, soap, shampoo, things usually furnished at a bare minimum if at all. I would highly recommend this cozy, homey cabin for an enjoyable stay away from home.

Beautiful, Private, Perfect!!!

  • 5 of 5

We needed a last minute reservation for two nights and the owner was very accommodating and quick to secure our reservation for us.

This beautiful home in the woods was perfect for our stay and gorgeous in every way possible. The cabin and furnishings were all top of the line, extremely clean and inviting. The location of the home between Ellijay and Blue Ridge was perfect for us and we absolutely hope to have the pleasure of staying here again.
