About Heather Pitschka
Steve and I (Heather) have lived in Duluth for the past 20 and 15 years respectively. We call it home now and have a tough time seeing ourselves living elsewhere. Lake Superior has a draw and we've been mesmerized since moving here. We both love the water and spend a significant amount of our free time surfing, stand-up paddle boarding, kayaking, canoeing and fishing. Both of us have caught a muskie out of our canoe a stone's throw away from our house on Minnesota Point. We've also been able to surf every month of the year! Although I'd recommend a wet suit Fall/Winter/Spring. We love this area and always look forward to coming home when we've gone on vacation.
Heather Pitschka purchased this House in 2011
What makes this House unique
You'll have direct access to the largest freshwater lake in the WORLD (Lake Baikal in Russia is largest by volume, Lake Superior is largest by surface area)! You are 5 blocks away for the farthest inland port in the world. You are 5 blocks away from one of the largest lift bridges in the United States. There you can view Ocean and Great Lake ships from less than 100 feet as they enter and leave the port. Minnesota Point is surrounded by water and the Aerial Lift Bridge is the only point of access by land. You are essentially on a island!

This Park Point house is clean, cozy, and comfortable! It is well appointed with anything you might need in the kitchen. The views of the lake are great from the back of the house. We enjoyed our short weekend stay there!
Fun despite a storm
My family stayed over Thanksgiving weekend and there was a huge storm. It was quite drama. Heather had great communication regarding the power going out and ran over candles and a flashlight in a blizzard. The property was clean and cozy. A great place to "shelter in place." We would definitely stay again, hopefully when we can enjoy the neighborhood more.
My new husband and I stayed here for a couple nights for a little mini-moon after our wedding! We absolutely love this house! From waking up to the beautiful sunrise over Lake Superior out the bedroom window, to taking naps on the couch with the fireplace keeping us cozy, it was the most relaxing stay! The location is so great for walking down to canal park to visit the breweries and restaurants! Check-in and check-out was flexible and communication with Heather was great! We were so grateful to spend our first few married days at this beautiful property!
Best Place on The Point
Perfect place to spend a few days within walking distance to everything Duluth’s Canal Park has to offer!
Short walk to Canal Park without all the traffic and noise.
The VRBO listing says one bathroom but there are actually two and they're both very nice (one w/tub, the other w/shower). The house is really great. Lake Superior sunrises are not to be missed if you stay there, set an alarm. Heather was quick to respond to any questions and the place is in tip-top shape. We had a very nice time. Our only regret is that the weather was so nice we never had time to take a sauna!
Located 4 blocks from historic Lift Bridge and Canal Park (business district).
