A short walk from town, this is a great Peaks Island cottage.
It has been renovated over recent years and offers many modern conveniences while still maintaining its 'cottage charm”. On the first floor, you will find two spacious bedrooms with queen beds. There is also a fully equipped kitchen, living room, dining room, and a den with a TV and DVD player. Upstairs there is an airy loft with two twin beds. A broad sandy beach is across the street, and the house is also close to the TEFA yacht and tennis club and the picturesque Back Shore. The yard is spacious, great for volleyball, badminton, or soccer. Perfect for families, comfortably sleeps up to 7 people.
When our children were young, we first started coming to Peaks Island and we fell in love with it. It is the perfect place for a summer vacation. Everything slows down, and it makes it easy to relax. The island is the perfect size, small enough to feel like it's your own but we never run out of things to do.
Our home is perfectly located, a few minutes to the sandy beaches on the bay and a little bit longer to the wild and rocky Back Shore. We are near a public boat ramp and close to the TEIA yacht and tennis club. It's a great island for walking and biking. It's an easy walk into town where you will find restaurants and shops, or you can just stay put and relax.
Loved the secluded back yard
We spent a week on Peaks Island with another couple and their two kids. The house had plenty of room for all of us (it seemed a lot bigger then the pictures portrayed), it was close to a couple of beaches and less then a mile walk to town. Also it was clean, the kitchen was well stocked with everything you need for cooking dinner and the beds were comfortable.
This is a charming cottage, casual and comfortable with spacious rooms, lots of sunlight, decorated in cheerful colors and equipped with all modern conveniences, including a fast and reliable WiFi Internet connection. Favorite spot: the indoor hammock by a big window looking onto a peaceful green stand of trees. Verrrry relaxing! You can walk into town through a pretty cottage neighborhood or along the beach. Owners are very friendly and answered all my questions promptly. The house was clean, the beds were comfortable, the shower was hot, and the kitchen was well equipped with all the basics, including a lobster pot. I would love to make a return visit sometime soon! Compares very favorably with other cottages I have stayed at in Maine and on the Cape. Highly recommend.

Peaks Island is only a 20 minute ferry ride from Portland, but as soon as you get off the ferry, it feels as if you are stepping back in time. The perfect place for a vacation. Peaks Island has activities for all ages.
You can walk or bike around the island easily. Along the way, you will probably find a lemonade stand or two. There are plenty of beaches to explore, from the rocky coves on the Back Shore to the flat, sandy beaches facing the bay.
In town, you will find restaurants, quaint shops (including an ice cream shop), a grocery store, and art galleries.
Biking (rentals available)
Kayaking (rentals and tours available)
And for rainy days, there is a library and a Civil War Museum on the island. And remember, the city of Portland is just a 20 minute ferry ride away, if you wish to spend the day in town. Here you will find excellent shopping, movie theatres, museums for kids and adults, and a fantastic selection of restaurants, cafes, and bars.
