We were 5, me my wife and our 3 childs. It was our third time in Elba but we didn’t know this part of the Island. As the Owner said us it is the most natural, still incorrupted place of the Island, quiet and paceful, in August too. We found what we looked for, a paceful and natural place for our family holidays. We loved to walk through the forests surrounding our accomodation and discover small beautiful and lonely beaches as La Cala, Fontine, Ripa Barato. I personally am a fisher as my older child too (he is 15 now) and loved to find uncorrupted sites where we had great fishing. Our childs were free to go everywhere alone (except our too young daughter Caroline) and really appreciated it (we did too!). No car passage, no risks. We stayed in the second house of Andrea (the Owner), named La Scuola (The School) as in the 50’s, when there was no roads (just paths) it was used as elementary schoool for the few childs (5-6 I guess) living there. It is a really nice house, perfectly appointed and fully equipped, absolutely correspondent. The living is comfortable but a bit small for 5 but we always used the beautiful seaview roofed terrace in front to have all our meals on a nice marble table. Overall by night it was agreable and comfortable (just in front means it was easy to cook inside and have meals outside). The seaview is great, a bit covered on the left by an old lower (the place is on a light hillside) and uninhabited house roof but it is great anyway. Seaview also form the kitchen and living window and everywhere you move we had a great lookout over the beautiful sea in front. We also had a nice barbecue where we grilled meat and fish. Also a nice external shower really appreciated when back by our explorations. We parked our car just 2 meters from the entrance, lateral side, really comfortable. Our childs loved to sleep all toghether on the mezzanine under the roof and we loved the nice main double bedroom with comfortable bed. Kitchen is fully equipped also with microwaves, coffee machine and good cooking staffs. During our explorations we had the chance to see lot of wild animals as muflons, wild porks, martens, incredible butterflies, hawks, a woodpaker and an hoopoo just behind the house. Snorkeling was incredible too, everywere but at La Cala was the top. Our childs Our childs were delighted, my wife was satisfied and so I was. Deifinitely recommended to all nature sport and quietness lovers.

Wonderful stay

  • 5 of 5

Family of 4, wonderful 2 weeks stay in July.

After a quick and pleasant deal with the Owner (Andrea) we booked this property.

Due to excelent reviews our expectation on the house and place was really high.

Well, I must say it was even exceeded (not easy at all).

Everything we read about this property and the place was absolutely true.

Also the advert was absolutely corresponding to what we found.

The house itself was perfect: spacious, perfectly cleaned, fully equipped (we also found, and really appreciated microwaves, american coffee maker, new cookware set, etc...).

It is on 2 floors, living and kitchen on the first, sleeping on the second: what was really unexpected was the magnificent seaview from both bedroom’s windows.

We really loved to wake up in the morning with just birds singing, open the shutters and find a great blue sea in front of us. My wife and my sons were absolutely delighted by this.

As well as having our meals on the large lateral (private) terrace, intensely using the comfortable stone barbecue with real wood (kindly supplied by the Owner with no additional costs!), looking at the sunshien just on the sea in front of us.

Everything about this property and place has already been written by previous reviews, I just can confirm that everything is absolutely corresponding to what we found, even better.

House is fantastic place is magnific (natural, quiet, beautiful).

Other tip: when we arrived we found a bottle of fresh water as well as a bottle of really good white sparkling real Italian wine in the fridge (the Owner told us he owns a small family-run winery in Trevise area). We were told it was a welcome gift and we used it to toast to our beautiful holiday beginning.

Just perfect

Fantastic experience

  • 5 of 5

The listing is 100% accurate and we had a fantastic experience.

The location is charming, quiet, fully natural (in fact it is a Natural Park area).

The house is at the end of a small no exit road in a place called La Conca, beautiful.

We have been woke up by birds every morning of our 2 weeks stay.

The house is comfortable, tastefully decorated and clean.

It has 2 large private terraces. The most useful is the lateral one with half

roof, table and benches (every meal there), stone barbecue, solarium

and a stunning view over the sea (we saw Capraia Island and the sunshine

was in the sea in front).

The beach behind the house is called La Cala and it was really beautiful.

It is a pebble beach (we took some of its stones home as they were better than a decoration)

with a unique underwater, really few people we could also stay with our dog.

Our childs (12 and 8 yo) went to the beach alone every morning, no danger, then we arrived

with the right calmness.

They discovered pleasure of indipendence with no risks

It has been the most natural and educational holidays they had ever.

Thanks to Andrea, kind and helpful Owner that allowed us a such fantastic experience.

Perfect house amazing place

  • 5 of 5

Three times in Elba. The first 2 times we did not find good quality hause accomodations, the average standard in the Island is quiet low. The past summer we found this property and we immediately rented.

We have been absolutely satisfied by the house: good quality, well featured and well appointed, good size.

It is on 2 floors, down living area up night area: really appreciated because we get our childs sleeping and by night we could anyway watch tv or just chat with no worries to disturb them.

We had all our meals outdoor on the table in the lateral terrace most of time cooking barbecue

(real wood offered by the Owner) overall fish but also meat (Pomonte grocery warmly suggested).

Finally the hause is fantastic, completely new and modern kitchen (we used a lot the electric oven

and microwaves grill), fully equipped, new pots, large external terraces see view from every window and terrace.

Well, what about the place: we have been surprised even more than for the hause.

Yes we know it is Natural park and the sea is beautiful, but we didn’t expect such a charming and

natural place. Overall so quiet (no car passage, no roads just birds) and relaxing.

We did not touch the car for 2 weeks, just for shopping.

Early morning I went walking through Sentiero dei Profumi, beautiful.

Then all the family went at La Cala, a magnificent natural quiet beach, still savage for the all day.

It is in the coast under the house, 10 minutes or less.

We could leave our staff there (in the Owner hutte) and find it the day after because it can be reached just by boat or on foot so no people can steal our poor staffs.

Snorkeling is the best because the underwater in La Cala is magnificent (there is a small torrent floading in). I also got fishing (wow) and biking (hard but stunning)

Finally the house is magnific, the place is too.

Warmly suggested to people looking for relaxing, comfortable, sportish holidays.

Beautiful place, really nice accomodation

  • 5 of 5

Deal with Owner: perfect.

Arrival and wellcoming: perfect.

House: stand alone house, magnificent seaview, nicely featured (some paints were different, even nicer). The kitchen was completely new and fully equipped. Some baned pots have been changed under request, nothing else. We used to have our meals in the side seaview terrace. Beautiful.

Sometimes we rested at home and we really enjoyed this terrace with its seaview, sun-beds and chairs!

The place is absolutely quiet.

Few houses are in this small agglomerate (La Conca Oro

is neither a village, just few houses at the end of a small no-exit road) rich of history anyway, as the Owner explained us.

The house has a small charming private curch behind (Sant'Anna church in fact!), opened just in Sant'Anna day (I guess July 26th?). If I would not have already been, I really would like to get married there!

Finally we had great walkings through paths that seems all get through this place (historical reasons, we discovered).

Under the house there is a beautiful quiet and really intresting beach, La Cala, where we used to spend the most part of our sea days. We stayed there all-day long, it was really relaxing.

The path is a bit hard in its first part and it takes about 10 minutes (uphill it depends on your form!).

We had the chance to let the most part of our staffs at the beach with no steal danger (access is just on foot or by boat).

This was really useful.

Finally we had a great time in this property and place.

- walking through Sentiero dei Profumi (it starts 50 meters

from the house) in the close forest

- walking to Cotoncello and Santo Andrea beach (25 minutes)

- visit medieval villages as Marciana and Poggio

- visit Monte Peroni (one of the most charming roads I saw in

my life) and rural villages on the oppsite side (don't remeber

- visit the relic (snorkeling) at Pomonte beach

Snd beaches as Fetovaia and Cavali are really really nice but too crowded for us.

Sorry for mistakes hope this can be useful!

Best holidays accommodation ever.

  • 5 of 5

My wife suggested me not to write a Review about this property, she is jealous and she would like to keep this small “secret” for us :) Anyway I decided to write it because first we already rented this property for next year’s holidays, then it is something due to the Owner, Mr.Andrea.

Well, we arrived by night and we didn’t realize where we felt on. Perfect house, right size, external terraces, sea view from both house windows and terraces, extreme quietness, superb nature all-around (full Natural Park). The sea is deeply blue an clean, a real sea.

The house was perfect for our 4 people family but what is really unique is the beach behind the house, named (….). This small pebble beach is a concentrate of life I’ve never seen (and I’m a marine biologist!). There is a small mountain’s torrent flowing in the central left side, behind large levigated rocks, letting the bay a sea life complete world. Underwater, in the same bay, u can find rocks, grey&white sand,

posidonia meadows, shells everywhere… perfect for snorkeling (depth is continual between 2 and 10 meters).

It is quiet difficult to fully describe this place with my poor English, I just can say that my sons used to “fish” crabs between the levigated rocks I told before (green crabs, red crabs, shrimps) using a limpet (patella) fixed at the end of a

thin cord… well, at one time he began crying and he hardly extracted the cord: a Murena was attached, she

stayed few seconds debating then she cut the cord with its shaped teeth and she got back hunting crabs…

David, my son, a bit shocked but also electrized by his experience is already preparing instruments for next year’s huntings (did u know that the Murena is absolutely delicious?! Andrea is a great gun-fisher and he gift us many fishes and also a Murena: he explained us how to prepare and cook it, not it is the favourite fish of my sons).

This was just to pre-select your future guests Andrea LOL :)

Just educated, sportish and “courageous”people looking for a still savage but not dangerous at all nature!!!!

Unanimously elected best family holiday ever.

On the coast between Marciana Marina and S. Andrea, 100m over the front sea (magnificent lookout), mountains and forests behind, in a peaceful and bucolic context. Under the villa (10 minutes walk) is a well known only on foot (or boat) accessible beach. Many other beautiful beaches can be reached starting from the villa with a nice walking through the typical Mediterranean vegetation.

The location is also the ideal starting point for the superb trekking you can practice trough forests valley and mountains behind the house and for visiting old medieval villages of the area as Marciana, Poggio, St.Pietro and St.Ilario.

Marciana Marina (15 min. by car) is a well known dressy small village, with its enchanting seaport and charming old village part.
