Mike Bagby purchased this house in 1983
great sunsets,the deer on property,quit neighborhood,safe for the kids,private road dead-end!
This was an excellently laid out house with everything we needed for our 4 day stay in the area. Two bedrooms, bathroom, living room and kitchen all wrapped into a convenient cottage with nice seating and outdoor covered area & driveway. Mike was very helpful & accommodating and easy to deal with. I would recommend this cottage.
The affordable price and location made this a perfect fit for our family weekend on the Olympic Peninsula. The close proximity to two of our must-do's (Game Farm Park and Dungeness Spit) was especially convenient. We made day trips to hike Sol Duc Falls and Marymere Falls/Lake Crescent, and loved getting to come back to all the comforts, flexibility, and privacy of "home."
The home was brighter than the pictures indicate, and the neighborhood was quiet and lovely. We brought our own disposable plates and forks because I hate doing dishes on vacation, but the kitchen was well-stocked and we were able to make or pack all our own food (HUGE $$ saver!). We only ate out once (while waiting for laundry to finish) and I recommend Adagio Bean and Leaf for coffee and pastries. having no cable or wifi was a hidden blessing, as it "forced" us to be relatively unplugged for the weekend.
This sweet little house served as an excellent "landing pad" after our daytime adventures and I would definitely stay there again.
My only tiny complaint was the "big" bed was a double, not a queen. Sharing it with my 6'2" 150+ lb husband didn't leave a lot of room and left us both not sleeping too well. It was manageable for a short stay.
BONUS POINTS for having the best movie in the world ("The Princess Bride")! We had a great family movie night after a day of hiking and driving!
We stayed here for a week and loved our stay. The house was clean and comfortable. The carpet looked new and was very soft. I LOVED the washer and dryer. It was a pleasure using them. The kitchen is nice and the wraparound was awesome. The grill at the house is super nice, and we grilled some sockeye on it.
This house is on a nice street out in the country, but extremely close to the Dungeness Spit, and not that far away from downtown Sequim. There's also lots of lavender farms and U-pick berry farms out in the country. We went to the Lavender fest while we were here, which was fun. Also picked raspberries at Graymarsh Farm. Other things we did: Hoh Rainforest on the drive up, Olympic National Park, Blackball ferry from Port Angeles to Victoria, BC for the day, Pane D'Amore Bakery in town, the Dungeness Spit and wildlife refuge.
We did elect to clean it ourselves, so if you do that, allow enough time for all the laundry to go through. We finished cleaning the house about an hour before the laundry was done and were just waiting for that. Luckily the cool washing machine has a quick (about 30 min) cycle.
Michael's home was exactly as described and pictured. It was very comfortable, the kitchen was fully equipped, and the previous renters left it clean. We had an excellent time at lake crescent and the hoh rainforest. Would recommend a windbreaker if you want to be outside at night at the house. Thanx Michael
