About Audrey Hickman

We fell in love with Tucker Pond when looking to find a vacation/retirement home. We wanted something directly on the water, within an hour and a half commute of our home in Lynnfield, MA for our three children to enjoy.

Audrey Hickman purchased this cottage in 2001

Why Audrey Hickman chose Lake Sunapee Area

The home is spacious and open, letting family connect. It is directly on the water-with sandy beach and fireplace at water's edge. The pond is quiet, and has extremely clean, clear water.

What makes this cottage unique

The water view is so beautiful-especially with autumn's foliage surrounding the pond. The cottage has ample activities nearby, making it a wonderful retreat year round. Plenty of privacy, yet a short drive to Concord, NH.

Family vacation in July

  • 4 of 5

This place was perfect for my family of 5 plus a friend and our dog for a week. Kids loved catching frogs & salamanders, swimming and kayaking. Great location for hiking and not too far from Weirs Beach and the Polar Caves. It was nice to be "off the grid" for awhile with no wifi or phones ringing.

PS- Mom loved the convenience of having a washer and dryer on site!

Nice family time!

Peaceful retreat!

  • 5 of 5

We loved our weekend escape! So quiet and peaceful here! The woodstove was perfect to take off the morning chill & to curl up with a good book & play board games (so many provided!). Sunday was a beautiful 83 degrees and we enjoyed kayaking & gathering salamanders! Great country fun for the kids!

There is so much room in the house, it's perfect for a large crew or a couple families to enjoy. The new carpets, bedding & leather couch were very nice. Highly recommend staying here. Thank you so much!

Owner's Response: Thank you Carol! What a nice way to start my day. I am so glad that the weather cooperated, and you were able to enjoy some time on the water-the weather has gone back and forth between cool and hot. I am thrilled that you enjoyed your stay and would love to have you and your family again sometime. Audrey

Great Ski Location

  • 5 of 5

My friends and I plan a long ski weekend for New Years every year, This year we wanted to try some different slopes. So we found this place and are very happy we did. It easily slept 10 people, and the two bathrooms made it even more manageable.

The new carpets added a nice touch to the place. We had a great time playing cards and cooking dinner. We did venture out to the Flying Goose Brewery for dinner and it had great food.

As far as location it is about 20 min off the highway to the cabin. There is a Market Basket, Dunkin Donuts, and gas right off the highway. the Cabin is about 30-45 min to Pat's Peak and Sunapee. Very awesome location and I am sure it is as good in the Summer with the lake right in front!!

Would happily rent this place again!!

Location is great....

  • 4 of 5

Location is fantastic on a small relatively private lake. Cottage is nice but is dated. Needs new carpeting, furniture and beds which the landlord said she was replacing. With these updates this cottage will be outstanding.

Owner's Response: I appreciate your taking the time to give a review of the cottage. Work is underway as I write for updating the cottage! It is reviews and notes from the guests that help in keeping the cottage as nice and comfortable as possible. I am glad you enjoyed your time there-I am most happy when my guests are happy! Thank you for choosing my place for your vacation-I hope to see you and your family again. Audrey

Great NH Getaway

  • 5 of 5

We just returned from a weekend at this wonderful lake house. The house is well laid out with everything you need for a getaway. There are 7 beds and 2 couches (one pull out) and plenty of spare room for a couple air mattresses if you wanted. There is a lot of room for lounging in and out of the house. The house has a BBQ grill and a wonderful wood burning stove/grill/fire pit outside right on the water. The yard is very big - we setup a few different games at the same time without issue. The house came stocked with everything you would need for water fun (boat, kayaks, floats, fishing poles, etc).

The location itself is very nice. It is off the beaten path and feels very isolated, but 10 minutes away are gas stations and a market basket if you need to get some supplies. It was extremely quiet at night.

We went as a group of friends for a long weekend but this could just as easily been used for families and/or a couples retreat.

Probably most important is that the owner (Audrey) was amazingly helpful. She was very polite and answered any questions. I really felt like he genuinely wanted my group to have a great weekend at her home. It is pretty obviously in talking to her and seeing the house that she cares a lot about the property and also that people enjoy it.

Family Friendly Cottage with lots of character and fun!!

  • 4 of 5

We shared this house with our best friends and their children. There was plenty of room for us and our kids (7 in total). Despite the rainy weather, there was plenty to do at the cottage, from movies, to games to exploring! Audrey was so nice and handled everything perfectly! We made some wonderful memories and will consider returning!! There were kayaks and a boat to use, plus a great outside fire pit to use. Love it!!
