The Bungalow Suite (#3317) is a large one bedroom, 1 bath, which sleeps 4 using the comfortable pull-out sofa in the large living room. Newly renovated with high quality finishes and cheerful eclectic style -- Mid century meets Deco meets vintage and reclaimed. Sunny, colorful, and casually elegant.
Beautiful original hardwood floors and large wood windows, cafe style eat-in kitchen, restored vintage stove with griddle, top line appliances, washer and dryer in suite, central heat/AC, deep Euro tub/shower in large, Deco style bathroom. Small private patio with bistro dining for two outside front door. New furnishings and backyard with grill, dining, ping pong table and lounge chairs.
We also provide amenities -- K-cup and French press coffee makers, beach towels, blow dryer, iron/ironing board, luggage rack, books and games, shampoo and conditioner, shower gel, hand soaps, other essentials. WIFI and smart TV -- Stream Netflix and Pandora while you relax or enjoy a light meal in the suite.
We have a 50mb WIFI network in the unit -- nice and fast -- and 4 other networks in the building, all of which are accessible to all guests, so it's pretty much bullet proof service if your unit's network happens to go down.
Spacious grounds with gas grill, ping pong table and delightful seating areas. Walk a few blocks to Balboa Park, restaurants, cafes, golf, community pool, tennis, recreation. 5 minutes to downtown -- Little Italy, The GasLamp Quarter, Seaport Village, Convention Center, the famous San Diego Zoo, Balboa Park and museums, Old Globe Theatre. 10 min to beaches and other major attractions, including Coronado Island and Seaworld.

When we saw this building, with its old world charm and quaint sophistication- we knew that we had to own it, renovate it- and then provide fabulous, beautiful, comfortable and 'cool' accommodations where people could relax, enjoy the Park, the Zoo, the many restaurants- all within the context of a local San Diego Urban Walkable neighborhood experience. AND WE ARE 5 MINUTES FROM DOWNTOWN AND 10 MINUTES FROM FABULOUS BEACHES!
This building is thought to have been owned a century ago by a nearby historic church and resided in by church members or out of town visitors. It is a beautiful building and stands out as regal, yet simple. This combination of simplicity and beauty attracted us. Additionally, we were inspired by a European vacation where we found quaint older buildings renovated with a mix of Asian, modern and European touches that made our vacation more enjoyable. We wished to pass these feelings on to others.
My husband, little girl and I stayed here in December and we had such a great time! The place was very clean, accommodating and had all the essentials we needed during our stay. They even provided a pack n play for our little one to sleep in. Lots of restaurants, shopping, bars and etc within walking distance of the house. Matthew was always quick to respond and provided great customer service! All in all we had a Great stay here, and I would highly recommend staying at Villa Barajas!
This is a perfect location for visiting the city - it's central to all of the "must sees" in San Diego. The property is clean and spacious and has a wonderful backyard to sit and have a cup of coffee in the morning. There was plenty of convenient parking. We were able to connect to the Wi-Fi easily and cable TV was also available (although we didn't watch much TV). We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would definitely return. We would highly recommend this place to anyone who is planning a visit to San Diego.
We just completed a second stay at this apartment, and we will book a third for our next time in San Diego. The North Park location is ideal, a fun place to walk around and admire the bungalows and gardens of the neighborhood, as well as convenient to walk to a newsstand and get the Sunday Times. Also, there is easy access to the freeway(s) for getting north, south, east, and west. The apartment itself is immaculate with a kind of retro look to it. It is roomy and comfortable. Communication with the owners/manager is easy, with punctual responses to any questions we had.
This property was perfect for our needs. We stayed a week in San Diego and were looking for something clean and convenient and this property was just perfect. If we ever went back to San Diego, we would definitely try to stay there again! It was clean, and there was a backyard area where there was a ping pong table, an outdoor grill, and places to eat outside, which we did almost every night we were there. The beds were very comfortable and it was decorated in such a cute way. Very nice place.
We had a great stay at Villa Barajas. It is exactly as pictured and in a great location. We would certainly stay again.

For stays of one month or more, we charge for bi-weekly cleaning, in addition to a final cleaning fee. This will not be auto-generated via a reservation request -- We will need to revise the quote to include the biweekly cleanings.
Many people ask about this: We include a third party damage protection policy in our quotes, which is a nonrefundable fee. The policy protects you and us. With the policy in place, we're able to charge a very low cash security deposit that covers minor damages (such as stained towels or linens or broken plates). The insurance policy covers more significant accidental damages (for example, to furniture, floors, appliances, counters, walls, mirrors, plumbing fixtures, lamps, window glass and coverings, other elements). The insurance also enables you to recover your security deposit in the event of a qualified incident. VRBO offers you the option of either purchasing the insurance policy we've quoted or paying an additional refundable security deposit equal to the coverage/face value of the policy. For example, suppose we are charging $250 refundable security and you opt NOT to purchase the insurance (which in this example has a coverage value of $1,500) -- Your new combined REFUNDABLE security deposit would be $250 + $1500 = $1,750. Please note that the price of the insurance policy and the coverage amount are subject to change.
