The Bungalow Suite (#3317) is a large one bedroom, 1 bath, which sleeps 4 using the comfortable pull-out sofa in the large living room. Newly renovated with high quality finishes and cheerful eclectic style -- Mid century meets Deco meets vintage and reclaimed. Sunny, colorful, and casually elegant.
Beautiful original hardwood floors and large wood windows, cafe style eat-in kitchen, restored vintage stove with griddle, top line appliances, washer and dryer in suite, central heat/AC, deep Euro tub/shower in large, Deco style bathroom. Small private patio with bistro dining for two outside front door. New furnishings and backyard with grill, dining, ping pong table and lounge chairs.
We also provide amenities -- K-cup and French press coffee makers, beach towels, blow dryer, iron/ironing board, luggage rack, books and games, shampoo and conditioner, shower gel, hand soaps, other essentials. WIFI and smart TV -- Stream Netflix and Pandora while you relax or enjoy a light meal in the suite.
We have a 50mb WIFI network in the unit -- nice and fast -- and 4 other networks in the building, all of which are accessible to all guests, so it's pretty much bullet proof service if your unit's network happens to go down.
Spacious grounds with gas grill, ping pong table and delightful seating areas. Walk a few blocks to Balboa Park, restaurants, cafes, golf, community pool, tennis, recreation. 5 minutes to downtown -- Little Italy, The GasLamp Quarter, Seaport Village, Convention Center, the famous San Diego Zoo, Balboa Park and museums, Old Globe Theatre. 10 min to beaches and other major attractions, including Coronado Island and Seaworld.

When we saw this building, with its old world charm and quaint sophistication- we knew that we had to own it, renovate it- and then provide fabulous, beautiful, comfortable and 'cool' accommodations where people could relax, enjoy the Park, the Zoo, the many restaurants- all within the context of a local San Diego Urban Walkable neighborhood experience. AND WE ARE 5 MINUTES FROM DOWNTOWN AND 10 MINUTES FROM FABULOUS BEACHES!
What makes this Villa unique
This building is thought to have been owned a century ago by a nearby historic church and resided in by church members or out of town visitors. It is a beautiful building and stands out as regal, yet simple. This combination of simplicity and beauty attracted us. Additionally, we were inspired by a European vacation where we found quaint older buildings renovated with a mix of Asian, modern and European touches that made our vacation more enjoyable. We wished to pass these feelings on to others.

We actually were moved to stay in the unit above this one (prior to arriving). The owners were very responsive and helpful. The apartment was clean and had nice, natural light. The inflatable sofa bed was a bit cumbersome to set up- we ended up leaving it set up in the living room the whole time instead of folding it back up and dealing with that every day. Our son enjoyed playing in the back yard area. The location was great for getting to Balboa park and walking around North Park. We didn't have an issue with parking or noise.

We enjoyed our stay for the week. It's not an opulent kind of place but it checks all the boxes. North Park has a lot of great restaurants, better in our opinion than the bigger downtown/gaslamp options. Location is convenient as the zoo and seaworld were 10 to 15 min away.
It's an older building but updated well. It's not insulated well b/c there are so many windows but the heater and a/c kept it comfortable.
Parking was always available in the spots off the rear alleyway, and sometimes is there in front as well.
Comfortable, Clean and Cozy
My wife and I stayed here while attending the Breeders Cup, going to the Zoo, Balboa Park, etc. For just the two of us, this place was fantastic. Super Clean, everything worked well and was as advertised. Zoo and Balboa Park was a 5 minute drive, the the suburb of North Park is walking distance. I can't remember the name but there is a bar-b-que place that is a 2 minute walk. They open at 6pm, and close when they run out of stuff. Go early if you want the brisket...we went at 6:30PM and stood in line for 45 minutes...this is a must do! That is part of the charm of this place; somewhat funky decor and great neighborhood haunts. Only negative is the parking and for those of us in the midwest, a friendly reminder of how to parallel park!
Bob, glad you had a great time! Appears you might have missed our emails with property info. We have 5 private parking spaces at the rear of the property (2 in garage, 3 outside) -- One space per unit, not assigned, mostly compact size.
Located minutes to The World Famous San Diego Zoo, Downtown San Diego and the Convention Center, Balboa Park with its Hiking Trails, Olympic Size Pool, Tennis Courts, Disc Golf Course, Archery Course, 3 Dog Parks, and a 10 minutes drive to San Diego Beaches. You get the best of Urban San Diego with its Zoo, Park &Museums and Downtown SD with the Convention Center and all the night life you could desire, as well as close Beach Proximity. The North Park Neighborhood in the most progressive neighborhood in San Diego with it's art, dance, yoga, restaurants, and coffee shops...it is the Mecca of the Urban Neighborhoods surrounding Downtown San Diego!

Rates in table are representative and may vary based on number of occupants and specific dates requested. Rates and minimum stays during holidays and special events, such as Comic-Con, are typically higher. San Diego requires that occupancy taxes be charged for stays of fewer than 31 nights (10.5%). Cleaning fee, insurance and refundable security deposit are additional. Rates are subject to change until reservation has been confirmed. For stays of one month or more, we charge for bi-weekly cleaning, in addition to a final cleaning fee. This will not be auto-generated via a reservation request -- We will need to revise the quote to include the biweekly cleanings. Many people ask about this: We include a third party damage protection policy in our quotes, which is a nonrefundable fee. The policy protects you and us. With the policy in place, we're able to charge a very low cash security deposit that covers minor damages (such as stained towels or linens or broken plates). The insurance policy covers more significant accidental damages (for example, to furniture, floors, appliances, counters, walls, mirrors, plumbing fixtures, lamps, window glass and coverings, other elements). The insurance also enables you to recover your security deposit in the event of a qualified incident. VRBO offers you the option of either purchasing the insurance policy we've quoted or paying an additional refundable security deposit equal to the coverage/face value of the policy. For example, suppose we are charging $250 refundable security and you opt NOT to purchase the insurance (which in this example has a coverage value of $1,500) -- Your new combined REFUNDABLE security deposit would be $250 + $1500 = $1,750. Please note that the price of the insurance policy and the coverage amount are subject to change.
