About the property

Perfect for a cultural or romantic holiday in this medieval walled city

Apartment Tulipan is a charming 1 bedroom apartment on the second floor (top floor) of a traditional stone house set in the quaint alleyways of Trogir old town, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

It is perfect for a cultural or romantic holiday in this Medieval walled city with its many restaurants, bars and shops.

A main attraction of this apartment is the roof terrace which looks out over the church spires, rooftops and alleyways of this magical town.

The living area is spacious and comfortable for 2 or 4 persons. Sleeping is on a double bed and double sofabed in the living room. There is a separate kitchen dining room.

Trogir Old Town is a little island connected to the mainland by a short bridge.

For beaches walk or drive across a second bridge to the island of Ciovo where there are plenty of beaches to enjoy. Alternatively for an even more relaxing day take the taxi boat to these beaches on Ciovo. Dine at the many restaurants of Trogir and get lost in its winding alleyways. And enjoy its vibrant cafe and disco night-life too!

Cultural Event in Trogir - Summer Music Festival

Trogir holds a summer festival, and the emphasis here is firmly on the music rather than the dance or theatre. It is held in the open air, in churches and squares across the city. A list of the concerts on offer in July and August can be obtained from the Trogir tourist office.

Cultural Events in Split - Summer Festival

Split is Croatia’s second largest city, and is home to the UNESCO World-Heritage Listed Diocletian’s Palace. Here the Summer Festival in July and August has a focus on the higher arts, such as opera and ballet. The Split Jazz Festival also takes place at the same time, and the two events series tend to merge into one. Other cultural events in Split include the Carnival in February and the four day Festival of Popular Music in June.

Means of access: Getting to the apartment is easy by car or by plane. Split airport is a 5km taxi ride away. You will checkin at the office of Dalmatian Property Management in Trogir. We will supply you with photo directions how to get to the apartment. And will give you information about the region, supermarkets, restaurants and cultural events you might visit during your stay. You will feel completely looked after. And in a case you need anything else DPM personnel will be happy to help.

Pets policy - please email to find out if you can bring your pet.

Apartment with great roof terrace right in the heart of Trogir Old Town
average rating of 4.9 based on 10 reviews

Tulipan apartment is ideal for 2 people.

  • 5 of 5

We found the apartment an ideal base for exploring Trogir with restaurants, market, supermarkets all nearby. Also with buses, ferries and tours easily accessed we explored further afield eg. Split, islands of Ciovo and Drvenik Veli and also Sibenik and the waterfalls in Krka national park on the mainland. From previous reports we were slightly concerned about the bells which ring from 6.00am all day at quarter hour intervals but thankfully not through the night, but actually found them quite tuneful!

On the downside, not wanting to eat out every day, I would have liked there to be more basic kitchen equipment to make eating in ( the roof terrace was lovely in the evenings) easier.....why not invest in a small microwave that could sit on the worktop? Light from the outside street light was also a problem shining straight into the bedroom but we managed to shade the shutters to a certain extent.

These are only minor gripes though as we thoroughly enjoyed our 11 days.

Clean, central accomodation.

  • 4 of 5

The apartment was clean and right in the centre of the old city. It was easy to walk from the Island to the other island and the mainland. The roof terrace was a good place to sit outside, although it looked forlorn with a dead looking plant and a broken table. We had a lovely week exploring Croatia, which is a beautiful country, one we would love t visit again. Although the houses on the island are all close together it was surprisingly quiet and peaceful.

Owner's Response: We are very happy that Kirstie had a lovely holiday in Trogir and at Apt Tulipan. We are sorry that she didn't mention the table being broken during her stay as we would have wanted to fix or replace it immediately so she could enjoy using it. We have asked the owner to remove the dead plant, we've very sorry it was left there.

Charming apartment in lovely location

  • 5 of 5

Overall, we had a lovely stay. Unfortunately and presumably due to a mix up over arrival times, the apartment had not been cleaned from the previous occupants. However, after contacting Dijana, the cleaner arrived in next to no time to replace sheets, towels and have a clean up and was very apologetic. Not a good start to our week but quickly and easily remedied. The apartment was exactly as described and we enjoyed the sound of the bells from the countless church towers surrounding us. We had imagined that staying in the middle of a town would be noisy but on the contrary, it was surprisingly peaceful. The roof terrace was the best part, fabulous for meals or to sit and read a book. We certainly agree with a previous guest regarding towels and would definitely have exchanged the unnecessary second kettle for better and bigger towels, but that was the only thing we were not entirely happy with and something that could very easily be remedied.

Trogir is fabulous, especially out of season, still bustling but not crowded. Amazing streets to get lost in (and we did a time or two). Waterfront very atmospheric and lovely for a stroll at any time of day. Cross the second bridge and walk on the island of Ciovo or find a little beach. The options are endless. Take a water taxi to Okrug on Ciovo, about 30 minutes and around £2.75 each. We took a local bus to Split, about one hour and about £15 return for 2 of us, very good value and well worth a visit, it is beautiful.

Didn't eat out often as it was delightful to sit and eat out on our own roof terrace and great if you are on a budget. Several supermarkets on both islands and mainland at similar costs to UK. Most of the restaurants seemed to have similar menus and fast food bars were excellent value, with some local specialities and all food cooked freshly in front of you.

We took a taxi from the airport to the office which we felt was expensive but caught the local bus from the bus station on the mainland back to the airport. Buses run every 30 minutes and take around 10 minutes and drop you right outside. Cost about £1.75.

Book it and have a great time, we did!

Delightful Apartment in the Heart of Trogir

  • 5 of 5

The apartment in in the centre of the Trogir. Surrounded by alleyways, churches, and hidden gems of restaurants. It only takes 15 mins to walk around the whole island. Cross over the small bridge to the 7 day market, great for fresh bread, fruit etc. Also on this side is the bus station, and a few supermarkets. A bus ride to Split takes around 45 minutes, bus no 8 leaves every half an hour. Over the bigger bridge to a hand full of bars and restaurants. Trogir is small and very captivating. We found some lovely restaurants, Luigis of typical Italian food, Alka for seafood, where ever you go the quality is good, and great value. We liked the Smokvica Bar and the Galion Bar, both just behind the main church, both very friendly.

The Apartment is lovely, very clean, very tidy. The roof top terrace is fantastic, breakfast in the early morning sun was wonderful. Please be aware of the bells from the surrounding churches (I found they just added to the atmosphere, but my husband now calls me Esmerelda). The had everything we needed, including iron, ironing board, 2 kettles and a corkscrew. An abundance of clean towels and bedding, we could easily have moved in. My only request would have been a mirror in the bedroom, as I feel uneasy using a hairdrying in the bathroom. The management company we very helpful both during booking and our stay, but I never needed to contact them during the stay as everything was first class. I would recommend anyone to stay here. Strolling along the harbour side, people watching was a delight. I also highly recommend a boat ferry around the coast to Okrug for a little bit of seaside.

Tip. The airport is only 5 mins drive away, I made the mistake of prebooking a taxi, which worked out quite costly. There were plenty on hand at the airport arrivals, and much cheaper.

Icing on the cake

  • 5 of 5

This apartment is probably the most comfortable holiday let I've ever stayed in.

Very well furnished, including a surprisingly comfortable bed.

Central location in the old town, though it only takes 10 minutes to walk one end of the island to the other.

Given the opportunity I'll definitely rent Tulipan again.

Come in the high season of July and August and you'll find Trogir vibrant with life with holidaymakers from all over Europe.

During the day enjoy the local beaches, water sports and the beach side cafe bars and restaurants on the island of Čiovo.

In Trogir Old Town enjoy wandering along the quaint cobbled alleyways and shopping in the many jewelry and arts and craft shops. Alternatively rent a car and explore the natural beauty and scenery of the island.

Split is another UNESCO World Heritage city and is just 30 km away and a visit to the 1700 year old Diocletian's Palace is highly recommended.

For a quieter holiday come in May/June or September/October.

Čiovo is a great base from which to visit other places like the beautiful Krka National Park and Skradin. And 40 mins north along the beautiful coast road north lies Primosten, a beautiful ancient 'island' town almost entirely surrounded by water.
