About Sebastian Herrick
I am a Washingtonian who was born and raised in this house before moving to Colorado. From Colorado, I went to high school in Maine, then college at Roger Williams University in Rhode Island. I finally returned home after college and developed professionally in this city of opportunity. I love this home and all of the memories it has provided both for me and the guests who have stayed within its walls. My prerogative is to share the good feelings fostered within this house with travelers who need a comfortable base when exploring the District.
Sebastian Herrick purchased this Townhome in 1983
Why Sebastian Herrick chose Northwest Washington
This home has provided happiness for family, friends and tenants for the past 34 years. It has become more beautiful after remodeling the kitchen, installing bookshelves, and rebuilding the upstairs, while I have played my part in crafting a new deck and maintaining the property for the past eight years.
What makes this Townhome unique
The house has great chi. Neighbors have stopped by just to peek at our overarching dogwood tree and front yard. The lighting is of top focus for our family. This house has a feel for the dynamics of light and how it makes a room appear lively, especially in the living room and kitchen. Seamlessly moving from sophisticated to modern to comfortable, this house puts together different ambiances to form one unique experience.

Good Stay !
We had a very pleasant stay, and it’s a lovely home.
Great place for graduation
We stayed here for Georgetown graduation and it was great. Close to campus but quiet neighborhood for much needed breaks.
Quiet Oasis in Great Neighborhood
Our family stayed at this property when we attended our daughter’s college graduation in DC. The house is in one of favorite neighborhoods - close to many restaurants, main thoroughfares, and green spaces yet located on a quiet, tree-lined street. The home is just as pictured in the photos and is well-maintained, comfortable, and inviting. We appreciated Sebastian’s attentiveness in checking in via email during our stay and the lovely touches that made our stay special. One thing to note is that the laundry facilities are shared and our timing was off for using the washer and dryer; I would suggest scheduling laundry time in advance with Sebastian. We truly enjoyed our stay and highly recommend The Calvert Place!
Felt Like Home
This home is even better than the pictures and videos show. The location is superb, the beds are comfortable, and the house is stocked with everything we could need. Our favorite part was Sebastian. We often stay in a VRBO rental when our family of 5 travels. Sebastian was, by far our best host! When we arrived, we found fresh flowers, wine, chocolates, personal reviews of the local restaurants, and DC guide books galore! My daughter even had to print something and Sebastian had a ready-to-use printer available to us. This was a perfect home-away-from home. We were able to walk to Georgetown, the National Cathedral and the DC colleges. It was great to have the city nearby but be on a quiet tree-lined street. The next time we are in the area, we will be booking with Sebastian again!
This is a lovely family home in a nice location.
Terrific house in a quiet neighborhood
Stocked with everything we needed in the kitchen and elsewhere ! We couldn’t believe that we were in a city, it was so quiet, yet shopping and other commercial activities were less than a ten minute walk. Out of the traffic jams and near the embassies. We would happily stay there again.
We are in a neighborhood close to one of the most active areas of Washington, DC! Walk down to Georgetown for boutique and designer shopping or take a hike through lush and mysterious Rock Creek Park. We are a mile-and-a-half away from the waterfront of the Potomac River where you could catch a massage, movie, and end a warm summer day with a kayak ride. Just up the road is the National Cathedral, and if you would like to brush up on history or enjoy fine art, travel down to the Smithsonian Museums and National Mall where you can immerse yourself in the heart Washington, DC. If you'd like a Capitol tour, I would be happy to arrange this. Also, White House tours are available, though I would need about four months in advance to book as they are in high demand. If you desire a more low-key afternoon, we are close to many coffee and tea shops as well as fine dining restaurants nearby. Even if just walking through our neighborhood on a summer day, you will find our neighbors' front lawns flowing with colorful flowers and well-kept patios, as well as overhanging gingko trees that provide just the right amount of shade.
