The Villa has been recently refurbished and includes a modern kitchen, with oven & hob, dishwasher, washing machine, open plan dining and living room complete with new furniture throughout. The Villa benefits from an elevated position and has views to the Sea. 2 of the bedrooms are furnished with King Size Beds whilst the third room has 2 single beds, a cot is also available by prior arrangement. There are very large 4ft Australian style variable ceiling fans in each of the bedrooms to keep you cool even on the warmest of evenings.

Locality:-: The beautiful and ancient town of Tavira is the main local area of activity, it has many bars, restaurants, cafes and shops. Tavira still remains unspoilt and is not 'too touristy'

The restaurants in Tavira are of a very high standard and, offer a variety of cuisines from, the local dishes 'like Mama makes' to more western European dishes, obviously there are the highest quality fish restaurants here too.

The nearby fishing Villages of Cabanas and, our favourite- Santa Luzia also offer a good alternatives to Tavira, with fantastic choices of bars and restaurants, Santa Luzia is an absolute must do night out!(15 euros taxi from villa)

There is a water park at Loule, and there is Zoomarine at Guia, this is a fantastic day out for the whole family with, dolphin and seal shows to delight everyone, there is also falconry and, many birds and animals in fantastic surroundings.

The Historic City of Seville is approx 1 1/2 hrs drive along the A22 Motorway, well worth a visit.

Special Interest:-: This area is right in the Heart of The Ria Formosa Nature reserve, an area of Marsh and Wetlands, the Lagoons are full of fish and wildlife.

Beaches here are some of the best Beaches in the World, Soft White Sand gently sloping into the Ocean, Most are Island Beaches that can be easily reached by small cheap Ferries or, Water Taxis, this adds to the Romantic feel of this area by providing a cooling little lagoon trip to and from the Beautiful Beaches.

Bird watching here is very popular with many rare, Native and, Migratory Birds.

The area is also home to many rare plant species such as Orchids etc.

Wonderful peaceful break

  • 5 of 5

There were three of us on this break although can easily sleep 7 with two double and one twin bedrooms and,I think, a pull out bed in the lounge. We wanted somewhere quiet and it was certainly that.

One of the most important things for me is cleanliness - and in view of this I was very particular when choosing, no disappointment there as everything was great thanks to Paula who was very patient with us when we got lost!!! Alan, the Manager, was great as well.

The pool was a godsend as the temperatures were so high when we stayed there.

I would most certainly recommend this villa - it has everything you could want - in particular we liked the mesh covers for the doors which enabled us to have the doors open but no insects could get in.

The villa is about 6 minutes drive from Taviro a pretty place with lots of eateries and at least three supermarkets to make life a little easier.

There was plenty of literature in the villa (to which we added) showing recommendations for various places to eat and things to do. There are places not to far afield to visit - We popped over to Seville for the day - a very ice place with a beautiful cathedral and the Plaza de España, is a must.

All in all, a great week.

Excellent Villa

  • 5 of 5

We stayed at the villa for the first week of October. The villa was exactly as described and was very clean and modern and equipped with everything you need for a self-catering holiday. The weather was fantastic and we spent most of our time lazing around the pool reading from the large selection of books available. There are plenty of shady spots under the trees if it gets too hot. The villa is situated in a rural area but only a few minutes drive from Tavira which is a very pleasant town to wander around. There is a large, well stocked supermarket as you approach Tavira and we found all we needed for the week there. We lunched out a couple of times and found there are lots of restaurants to choose from but in the evenings we used the built-in BBQ at the villa which was great. There is no air conditioning but there are ceiling fans. Although the location was private and quiet there were times during the day and night when the local dogs had barking sessions accompanied by a donkey! After a couple of days, we didn't notice it so much and we would not let that stop us from staying here again.

Lovely house with a great pool

  • 5 of 5

This is a spacious house, comfortably furnished and well equipped. There is a lovely pool area with plenty of seating and a table at which to eat out. The bedrooms are all generously sized. We especially appreciated the fly screens on virtually all the windows which meant we could have the windows open at night. Most owners overlook this and it is a real benefit.

We had a great time at the house. It was very easy to get into Tavira with its many restaurants and bars.Treat yourself to a speed boat taxi back from Tavira island. Even our jaded adult kids got a real buzz out of it! Recommended :ruins of a Roman villa at Milreu near Estoi. Also, the town of Mertola an hour away but go early - it gets very hot and all museums close for an hour and a half for lunch.

Beautiful villa in a great location

  • 5 of 5

Clean, spacious and very well maintained villa. Pool was lovely and warm. Fantastic location, secluded yet within minutes of supermarkets, restaurants and the lovely town of Tavira. Very quick drive to all three of the main beaches which were clean, safe and fun to get to by boat or train. There was a great folder in the villa recommending places to eat and we tried many without disappointment. Owner very thoughtful with DVD's, games, books etc. Very relaxing and we will definitely return.

A real home from home

  • 5 of 5

This was a fabulous stay at Villa Bourgonvillea. The Villa is comfortable and spacious with the added bonus of English TV and a log burner for the chilly evenings in April. The weather on our stay was lovely up to 30 degrees in the day and the kids braved the pool ! A bit too cold for the grown ups though. The kitchen is more than well equipped and we did actually spend quite a few evenings eating in as you could do this just as you could at home. We liked the fact that the villa was a way out of the town and a car is essential but the drive was really pretty and the local people to the villa were always really friendly.

Beds were really comfy and everywhere was spotlessly clean and modern. couldn't ask for any more really. Thanks for the stay I'm sure we will be back

Fabulous Family Holiday!

  • 5 of 5

We have been lucky enough to spend a week at this beautiful spot and had a wonderful holiday. The villa is very clean, spacious and well equipped, I really couldn't fault it at all. The outside space is fantastic with views of an orange grove. No-one overlooks the villa which was fantastic for the peace we wanted! The pool is an excellent size and was well used (as were the lovely sunloungers!)

We had a blissful day at nearby Ilha de Tavira and enjoyed the novelty and ease of the boat crossing. We also visited Barril beach via the toy train which was also great fun (although a bit more pricey than the boat). Both beaches were clean and safe and had excellent cafe facilities.

We loved the local town of Tavira, lots of good restaurants, lovely atmosphere day and night especially on the roman bridge where we saw lots of great buskers. We went on both the tourist train and the new tuk tuk's- both were great fun but the tuk tuk definitely had the edge as the guide was so helpful and interesting.

We also had a day at zoo marine which is about a 50 minute drive. I would highly recommend this to anyone with children, great day out and well worth the drive.

This is a fabulous part of the world and the villa is a great base to explore and enjoy it or simply to enjoy the fabulous sunshine!

Thank you for a great holiday
