It was great. We loved the dock and all the equipment to play. Air conditioners and beds were great too .We had fun easy access. Cute place we would return.5 star
My first impression was the kindness of the owner...so accommodating and friendly. I live in conn so getting there was easy...cabin is adorable, super clean...and has everything you need...seriously relaxing...the lake is clean, the neighbors are friendly and helpful. There is even an organic farm at the beginning of the street...so helpful and great produce..what a plus.We saw the big turtle...little turtles, beautiful birds, frogs,..quiet sounds of nature...I loved canoeing across the lake daily. A real treat!!!! thanks...I needed this!!!
Our stay at the lake house was nothing short of wonderful! Not only was this little cabin clean and cozy for our family of five but was stocked with all the little things that we didn't think of. You could tell there was pride in ownership and that time and thought was put into all the little details. The view was beautiful and very peaceful. Every morning I was able to sneak away from the kids and enjoy my coffee on the docks! The local wildlife would visit me for a bit. My husband and I would sneak away on the canoe and explore the area. My three teenagers had non stop fun, swimming kayaking, using the paddle boats and just floating around. The pond was full of sun fish and we enjoyed hours of fishing with our kids.
When we weren't relaxing at the house we enjoyed many of the local shops and attractions. Mystic was a stones throw away as well as Foxwoods casino. We ate in most nights thanks to the fully furnished kitchen but on those lazy nights we ate in town at Magos wood fire pizza, mystic pizza and Blue Squid.
We hated to leave on our last day and we all agreed we would love to make this a annual trip for years to come! It was a vacation that we will not forget. Many life long memories were made during our stay! Thank you Pam.
This rustic lakefront cottage has been lovingly maintained by the owners. We were concerned that it might be a bit "too rustic" but it was great. We enjoyed our morning coffee on the dock down by the water. My husband tried his hand at fishing from the dock and although he could see them , they weren't biting for him.
The location is great; pretty much 20 minutes to half an hour to everyplace we wanted to see. We went to Mystic Seaport and Downtown Mystic one day. The next day, we went to the submarine base in Groton and saw the nuclear powered sub, Nautilus. Then off to Gilette Castle; a quick ferry ride over to Essex, where we did the train ride and sunset cruise. Next day , we went to Mohegan Sun for the Barrett-Jackson car auction.
I would suggest that you bring in whatever groceries or supplies that you want to have on hand. The drive to a supermarket was also 20 minutes or so .
The cottage was clean and cozy. Everything we needed was provided by our hosts. We would be happy to return for another stay.
Thanks, Pam for sharing your home with us for our long weekend.
Our family had a great experience at Camp Albadot. The inside of the house was beautiful and really made the most of the space. My daughter, who works at a garden center, loved the flower arrangements outside and we had coffee each morning on the dock. She recommends the Lantern Hill hiking trails nearby for outdoor enthusiasts.
We also visited the Pequot Museum and Mystic Aquarium since they're both a short drive away and spent hours at each.
Long Pond was a very serene atmosphere for our short family vacation and we would recommend it to anyone who needs some relaxation and fresh air. Camp Albadot did not disappoint!
My wife and I spent 4 nights at the cottage with our infant son and had an amazing time. The lakefront property is tucked away in a corner of the lake and is very quiet. When we arrived, we actually felt the photos on the site don't do it justice -- it is very clean and comfortable and the kitchen is equipped with everything you need if you want to cook. ACs in two rooms keep you very cool if you need it, and the little sleeping porch with a view of the lake is also a great feature. The private dock is great for lounging I the sun and swimming. The location is also very close to the attractions at Mystic (15 mins), as well as grocery stores and whatever else you might need for your stay. We recommend it very highly!
Our family had a wonderful time at this Lakefront Cottage. It was very quaint and clean. We spent our entire time out on the lake. The kids fished and swam ALL DAY! The paddle boats and canoe were such an added bonus. The Cottage pantry was stocked with all kinds of amenities! Pam was so pleasant to rent from and the neighbor was so friendly! We had a wonderful time and hope to rent again next summer.
