About Francine Pilgrim
I want to welcome you to Boston and wish you an enjoyable stay. I moved to Boston a number of years ago and found it to be like a charming European city . Enjoy the beautiful architecture of this area of Boston, called Bay Village, that date back to the 1840.See the home of Edger Allen Poe on Fayette St. and the site of the Coconut Grove fire on Piedmont St. See the Swan boats at the Boston Public Garden, only a few blocks away. The home you are staying in, was once the Paramount News building, where news reels were edited and then sent to movie theaters around the area. A plaque hangs in front of the building "Paramount News, Eyes and Ears of the World". The brick wall of the deck, off the living room, still has the old hooks where they would hang the film to dry. I totally rut-rehab the building making it this lovely residential home. It's a totally new home inside a historical building. I enjoy my home and the area that it is in, and I hope you will find it as enjoyable and fun as I do. Contact host

3 of my colleagues and I stayed here for a conference and found the location and accommodations great and the house well stocked.
Great home, super convenient location
We stayed for 6 nights with two adults, two teenagers. The home is very nice and had everything we needed. Previous reviewers are correct in that the stairs are very steep so not safe for very young kids or anyone frail. We used the Arlington T station and rode the subway all over Boston - so easy and efficient. The T stop was about a 5 minute walk. The owner was very efficient with responses to all communication. We had no issues gaining access to the property upon arrival - the instructions were clear and worked.
Wonderful location, clean and well appointed. The owner was very nice, quick to respond and accomodating. Would highly recommend!
Great location in Theater District
Close to everything in central Boston. Attended a meeting at BCEC. Took Uber every morning in a 7-8” ride. Easily walked to Boston Commons and shopping on Boylston and Newbury. Well appointed, easy instructions to enter property. Very nice kitchen. Disappointing super limited TV channels. Basic cable in Boston is terrible. Watched a DVD on player. Apple TV hooked up but no remote. Steep stairs to upstairs bedrooms. Comfortable bedding for 4-5. Sheets on King super slick seemingly because of synthetic mattress pad. Nice tub in one BR with stacked washer/dryer. Anemic shower in other BR, even worse than any restricted flow shower I’ve ever used in CA, land of restrictive flow. Reasonably quiet, walked the 1/2 mile to Whole Foods once, CVS 2-3 blocks away. A little pricey, but for proximity and size, definitely a property to consider, esp for a family to give more room than a hotel. Would certainly consider again if in Boston in near future.
A beautiful property in a great location!
We could not have asked for a more lovely property on a gorgeous side street in the Back Bay area for our first trip to Boston! Francine was very easy to connect with and provided all relevant info to make arrival stress-free. This historic townhouse is a great choice for families with older children and adults (the steep stairs would make it difficult for the elderly or families with young children, as the description notes). It's extremely clean and well stocked, and the little deck areas are a lovely bonus. We could walk to Boston Common and great restaurants and shopping (in fact we walked all over the city!), but it also close to public transportation and easy to Uber from. We actually had a rental car as well, which we were able to park at the end of the block at a reasonable price. You will enjoy staying here and we hope to be back someday soon.
Quaint townhouse. Centrally located.
The house is lovely. It is walking distance to many restaurants and parks. The neighborhood is nice and very safe feeling.
