This home is designed for the family who enjoys fishing, scalloping and other water sports, but also enjoys luxurious accommodations. This brand new 2 bedroom, 2 bath Keys style home located directly on the Gulf of Mexico was designed and furnished ala 'Coastal Living.' The Great Room with it's expansive vaulted ceilings and panoramic views from two vantage points, as well as it's Pottery Barn furnishings allow for Island conversations at their best. The kitchen consists of stainless steel appliances, as well as beautiful Martha Stewart coastal cabinets and designer lighting. The Master Bedroom with it's 4-Poster Key West-style queen bed enjoys a gorgeous view of the Gulf. The 2nd Bedroom boasts 2 coastal cottage queen-size beds. A covered porch extends the entire length of the house facing the Gulf of Mexico for enjoying the breath-taking Horseshoe sunrises, as well as the marine life and bird life at your feet. There is a top-of-the-line front-loading washer and dryer available for your use. The outdoor cooking/ recreational area located on the ground floor provides docking at the water's edge for 2-3 boats, as well as adequate boat-trailer parking. The location of this residence is within 5 minutes of some of the best fishing and scalloping on the nature coast, and everything that you could possibly need is at your disposal.
We loved this house. It's more like a home that your rich Aunt owns than a rental. It is very nicely decorated, the furnishings are all top quality. The TV gets a pay channel, Cinemax?, so you can watch a movie on a rainy day. There must be a water softener, I couldn't find it, but the water is very soft. I loved showering in the main floor shower. The pictures aren't current. On the main floor there is a porch swing, two picnic tables, a rocking chair, grill, and an outdoor shower. That is where I showered. I loved this place and the small town that Horseshoe Beach is. The restaurant across the street is closed. Joe retired. You can meet him if you walk down the road to watch the sunset. The Marina bar, Jake's, is a good place to meet locals. Clarence, a local, gave us a tour of the town on his golf cart our first night there. He knew who we were and where we were staying just because its such a small town. I understand the town can grow to 20,000 on July 4th but that there are about 100 full time residents. Two things I would do to make the house better and only one is practical; 1. supply binoculars for looking at the islands and spying on boats, Turtles and Dolphin 2. make one of the showers big enough for two.
Remember to bring in what you need for food and drinks. The drive to Cross City gets tedious in a hurry.
This is a great place to stay but beware the home is For Sale!! There is a contract on home. I rented this almost a year ago for 7/4 AND no one has disclosed this information to me. I found out by walking by home last weekend. I thought I had home secured for a planned weekend with friends and family, Now I may not have a place to stay!!!!
Wonderful house. Well equipped. Page says no Wi-fi, but they recently put in great wi-fi. Zero phone service in Horseshoe beach - a blessing. 68 degree breeze blew through the house all weekend. Amazingly friendly community - they turn out to watch the sunset together! Wonderful owners who bent over backwards to be accommodating. Superb fishing. Recommended without hesitation!
Amazing gulf/ bay views. Gorgeous home, it should be featured in coastal living magazine. Great owners, very helpful. Close to boat ramp and across the street from horseshoe beach cafe ( great food). We enjoyed scalloping all week. Plenty of scallops. Be ready to escape with no wifi or cell. Make sure to get groceries on the way in. About 40 plus minutes (round trip) away from grocery store. Small marine store has a few items if needed. You should bring CDs and games for your family. The owners have satellite tv, some movies and games.
