Global Nomad and loving it. Travelling and living between Moscow, Toronto and Scotland. In the fashion industry and interior design. Mother of 2, love to travel and create. Glenarder, Scotland is "our special" little bolt hole from the world. We love its remoteness yet close enough to enjoy a nice dinner out in the local towns. Glenarder is where we go celebrate family, occasions and most of all
Owner purchased this Cottage in 2013
Why Owner chose Ballindalloch
We searched all ove Scotland for a place to call home and be close to my Scottish family. It was not the size of details we were interested in we just wanted a place on its own and with that special feeling. We had almost given up and on our last day of our holiday (devoted to the search) we went to one last property, the last on our list! As we drove up the road towards the direction of the little cottage my husband and I looked at each other and said this is we had not even seen the house yet. We were immediately in love with the spot, the open heath and 360 views. The cottage was smaller than we wanted but its positioning overlooking the Glen meant we forgave quickly all its short comings. We quickly made plans to renovate and make it our little cottage in the regrets. We love the it and we hope you get as much joy from it as we do.
What makes this Cottage unique
Quite, quite, quite! You cannot find a more peaceful location. Wake up to full 360 views, the odd pheasant in the garden and no one around to spoil your Sanctuary. On the Malt Whisky Trail and minutes for the iconic River Spey. Fully renovated with the highest quality of local and British products. An emphasis on artisanal and local fabrics and designs. Family kitchen with a large range stove and farmhouse kitchen table. It's the place we all hang out and spend our times together. Close to local amenities, restaurants and most of the Malt Whisky Trail with literally dozens of local distilleries to choose from. Close to the magnificent Spey River

Centrally located, private and peaceful. Beautifully decorated and comfortable. Breathtaking surroundings.
Characterful cottage in the Highlands!
A lovely place to stay if visiting the area. Comfy beds, well equipped kitchen, beautiful views, & peace! For those that never leave the tarmac, give this place a go, & get away from the crazy world.
This is a beautiful house in an isolated but fabulous area. The house is warm and cosy.
Peace and Quiet
Being surrounded by beautiful pastoral scenery at the end of days full of sightseeing, was a once in a lifetime experience. Best sleep we could ever have, and every window provided a vista that was a feast for our eyes. Traveling far off a main road was worth the experience, and we could totally understand how the owners consider Glenarden their retreat. Every detail to makes guests comfortable was attended to, and nothing needs to be changed.
Thank you Marjorie for your lovely review. Glad you enjoyed it. We love it to ...its our Happy Place !
