My family thought we'd moved up in the world at the Sweet Retreat! Everything from the furnishings, special area art, library and the sheets, towels and tableware were truly amazing and wonderful. The extras provided and the touchs upon arrival were appreciated. I know that when we have the family talk about desitination for the next summer vacation, the vote among my family will be the Sweet Retreat in Estes Park.
This is a beautiful retreat. My family of 5 had plenty of room to move around. Temperatures in the day with all doors and windows closed was 88 degrees in the home. It took sometime to cool off the retreat as the evening sun shines right through the windows and skylights. The evenings were very cool and mornings breath taking.
The home had all the amenities you would have at your own home. It is very warm and inviting. I would recommend this "Sweet Retreat".
This is an excellent spot. Highly recommended. Great location. The only head's up I would give is that the cable selection did not include ( or I was unable to locate) the ESPN channels which may be of high importance for someone. Definitely not a big deal for us. Thanks to Rita and crew for a great stay, and we will try and make it back.
The Sweet Retreat, truly was just that! This town home is absolutely immaculate and is even more stunning in person than what's shown in the photos. Located near the heart of downtown, it's conveniently located yet provides an escape complete with wildlife and mountain views. This facility truly has it all - it would be great for couples looking for a quiet getaway, yet it's spacious to accommodate families providing a space for everyone to make the trip enjoyable. You're bound to have a wonderful vacation if you book at the Sweet Retreat. Enjoy - I know I sure did!
Sweet Retreat lived up to its name! Very lovely, well appointed, clean condo with three bedrooms and a loft. Rita has worked very hard to keep the condo in tip top shape. She is very easy to work with and very pleasant. You won't be sorry if you rent this incredible condo!
Look no further, you found the place to be!! My family and I had the fortune of staying here at the Sweet Retreat for an extended period of time. The cleanliness, incredibly nice quality furnishings, fully stocked kitchen, linens, beautiful art, high-end BBQ, gorgeous mountain views, and more are by far superior. Not to mention the opportunities for wildlife viewing right from the Sweet Retreat - including Elk, deer, bunnies, birds, chipmunks, oh my! The Sweet Retreat is even nicer in person than the pictures. And there's plenty of room that would give a large group much elbow room. The layout also keeps you from feeling cramped given the upstairs with the loft that has lots of comfortable seating, 2 bedrooms and a large bathroom in between (good separation). The downstairs is just as spacious and comfortable with a large great room, dining area, kitchen, 1/2 bath, large master bedroom with a large master bath and walk in closet. You'll also find lots of helpful, informative, and interesting literature for your enjoyment. Games too! The location is great - close to everything! Its only a short 15 minute drive to the entrance of Rocky Mountain National Park. And less than 5 minutes to the charming downtown. If you're up for a stroll, you can even walk to Lake Estes and along the beautiful lake on the path right into downtown. Or just walk to the lake and take in the extraordinary views. Or go golfing. Or go paddle boating. Or do it all and then some - there is so much to do! The Waterfront Grille is in walking distance too, and makes for a scrumptious dining and/or fun drink experience while the views take your breath away. Just as wonderful as the Sweet Retreat are the owners! Their sincere concern for their guests happiness and providing an incredible vacation home is remarkable and impressive. Stay here! You will be glad you did :)
This is the greatest place to spend a week. It's completely stocked with everything a person would need or want. All you do is show up and enjoy. The kitchen is my favorite...I like to cook on vacation. It's a captive group! Then, the sheets and towels....nicer then I have at home. It is close to everything and yet far enough to be out of the fast pace of the village. We enjoyed elk off the deck and sun rises and sunsets that you can only imagine. We enjoyed the first snow and Fall color. AMAZING! The town of Estes has recovered nicely from the flood and the park is so beautiful. The trip up is worth the extra miles because that scenery too is wonderful. Thank you, Sweet Retreat and DeJong's, until next time....
New attraction to the downtown area is the public ice rink during winter months. Fall Colorado Color is nearly upon us. Spring flowers on the tundra abound. Summer Days without humidity are fresh and endless.
