Sun, beaches, and mountains. Port Argelés is where the Pyrenees meet the Mediterranean, and where the Catalan tradition and spirit are at home among the vineyards. Port Argelés offers a variety of activities to suit all age ranges and tastes, from hiking in the Pyreneean foothills to swimming and relaxing on the beautiful beaches along the Med.
In our condominium complex and around the marina are local shops, bars, and restaurants. Just behind our complex is Argelés Plage (beaches) which provides you with choices of swimming, eating, and shopping. Argelés Village has a local market and is a short drive away or walk from Port Argelés.
There are many sporting activities in the area, such as, tennis, riding, fishing, golf, water park, boat trips, scuba diving, karting, sailing, hiking, skiing, Valmy Winery, and camping. You may also take the day to visit the dramatic Pyrenees, the city of Perpignan with its ancient Palace of the Kings of Majorca or drive south into Spain.

On a trip that was major bucket list check off, our little home away from home was pure french perfection. Right at the foot of the Pyranees, you couldn't task for more. Myself and two others stayed for ten days in April. Although off season, we still got to see the best Port Argeles and the surrounding towns had to offer. Wine tasting at a Chataux, by the end of the ten days they knew our names. Quick trip to Collioure, our favorite town of the trip. The apartment had every amenity plus, including phone, TV, DVDs, wireless/hard lined internet. Laundry - check. Full kitchen - check. Bikes, beach supplies and everything in between - triple check! Plus, the complex has restaurants, shopping, fresh bakeries, WINE shops ... all right outside your door. You cannot go wrong and I cannot WAIT to book again. You will not regret it!
We really enjoyed our stay in Port-Argeles.
+ The service provided by the owners was excellent. They take care of everything.
+ The view over the harbor is amazing.
+ The bikes were in excellent condition.
+ There is a wide range of activities that you can do. We especially enjoyed our one-day trip to Barcelona, kayaking on the sea, hiking along the coast between Port Vendres and Banyuls sur mer and visiting the painters studios in Collioure.
+ The apartment was very clean and al the kitchenware and other utensils were in good condition.
+ About two times a week, there was a market very close to the apartment where they sold fabulous cheeses and cured meats, fresh produce, finger licking good candied fruit and loads of other stuff.

We really enjoyed our week in Port Argeles and it was a difficult place to leave at the end of the holiday. We'll certainly be back!
The apartment is located on the first floor in a modern building overlooking Port Argeles and has a fantastic view of the port. Outside the main entrance of the apartment there are shops, cafes, restaurants, a little supermarket, brasseries and boulangerie. In addition, it is about a 3 minute walk from a long sandy beach and the promenade which is excellent for cycling/jogging along.
The apartment is the most well equipped holiday accommodation we have ever stayed in and really appreciated the ruck sacks, cooler box, ice coolers, parasol, deck chairs and bikes.
There were four of us staying in the apartment (2 adults and 2 young children) and although the apartment is small, it was perfectly adequate for our purposes.
The information pack provided by the owners was very well organized and provided all the necessary information and suggestions of places to visit. They were also responsive to answer any questions that we had.

This was our first visit to Roussillon and we loved it.
The apartment is in a great location with super view over the port and mountains. The 7 km of beach behind the apartment are fabulous and uncrowded (in June) with a lovely walk between the port and Argeles-Plage and beyond towards St Cyprien.
The port area has many restaurants and shops and we didn't feel the need to hire a car. Travel is by boat to neighbouring Collioure (we went on the Barracuda and took in a coastal cruise) or by bus for one euro to go along the coast or inland to Perpignan.
We travelled by train from London - Eurostar and TGV are very efficient. We took le petit train around Argeles - lots of campsites! We enjoyed fabulous weather, hot & sunny but with a sea breeze every now and then - perfect for walking or lying on the beach.
We liked the Abbalounge for dinner and drinks (nice atmosphere, very friendly) and the Pizza/Pancake place next to the apartment.
We found the apartment very comfortable for 2 people, well equipped and with some good extras. We liked having 2 fridges (one for food/one for drink!) and fantastic bathroom, constant hot water and brilliant shower.
We hope to return.
Great location - on the boardwalk of a little harbour (with yachts only) and just a 2-minute walk to a wonderful beach. Lots of things to do two bikes available ... great place.
Traveling on A9 (even getting on A9) can be very taxing in late July - early August (to avoid the congestion you may consider travel early, early morning ...)
This was the perfect location to celebrate my daughter's graduation from high school. It was just the two of us and I refuse to drive when I'm in other countries. We arrived in on a Monday evening at 11pm and we were both exhausted from our travels. Everything was perfect once we got into the condo! Everything was clean, orderly, and easily accessible. We had no idea what was in store for us. We woke up to an absolutely beautiful view and couldn't wait to explore Port Argeles. My daughter was super excited to check out EVERY shop, which we did in detail. We do not speak any french, but gave our best effort on basic words and everyone did their best with us. We wanted to participate in tours, but there was nothing available while we were there, so we decided to go scuba diving. We found a place called Bapteme de plongee that had an instructor that spoke English. We had never done it before, and he did a fantastic job! It was the best thing we did on our trip! (Aside from the shopping!) We took many walks down the boulevard to another area in town with tons more shopping! We also took the boat ride into Coullioure for a day which offered sights to see and yes...more shopping. We stopped at the local grocery for daily necessities. Breakfast everyday at the bakery for croissants and cappaccino's. Everything was so accessible! This is a very romantic location, but is also very friendly to pets and families. I hope to come back again soon and have a family trip!
7 hours from Paris, 90 minutes from Carcassion walled city, 10 minutes from Collioure, 25 minutes from Spanish border, 2.25 hours from Barcelona, 2.25 hours from Touliouse, 30 minutes from Perpignan. Excellent bus transportation and 'Little Yellow Train'. Seasonal daily bus tours with pick up at our door. Boat taxi to Collioure and other points of interest. Diving schools in Port.
Other Activities: Sightseeing, eating, wine tasting, and shopping.
