Nice, would do again

  • 5 of 5

The cabin was great, nicely decorated. I felt like I was home. However, was not a fan of the parking. But nothing negative really. All good, loved the privacy.

I would have liked to know how far away it is from Gatlinburg before we booked.

  • 3 of 5

We had to drive 45 minutes to Gatlinburg each day which was unexpected. We didn't get the address until after booking. The house is pretty nice, very spacious and the pricing is great for a 2 bedroom. The drive up would be much easier if it were paved. It was nice to have a game room, however, the pool table was so worn that the pockets had large holes and the balls would fall out. They placed plastics cups in the holes but they also had the bottoms broken out. The air hockey table turns on but there is not enough air pressure for it to work. The air was not on before arrival and it was 90 degrees outside so the house was very hot and musty upon arrival. The hot tub was clean and in good working order and we were provided plenty of towels. Several of the dishes in the cabinets were visibly dirty so we didn't use them. The beds were fairly comfortable and they were very clean and neatly made. We were not aware that the bedrooms didn't have cable, only DVD players and the DVDs in the house were just empty cases so we had to go buy movies for our children to watch. One bedroom TV was so tiny we didn't use it. There is a blu ray player but no blu ray movies. Wouldn't recommend the drive up in the snow. Overall for the price it was a pretty nice stay. Would prefer to be closer to Gatlinburg in the future.

Owner's Response: Thank you for your review of Red Rooster. We will be addressing the housekeeping items you addressed, as well as the empty DVD cases. Red Rooster is in Cosby, which is 21 miles from Gatlinburg, and the two towns are connected via Highway 321. Our experience has been about a 25-30 minute drive. Pigeon Forge is appropriately the same distance. Thank you again for your comments!

Secluded quiet getaway. Away from the hustle and bustle

  • 4 of 5

We had a great stay at Red Rooster. Perfect size for 3 adults and 2 kids. Very quiet and secluded. Main attractions are about a 45 minute drive but beautiful scenery. Be sure to check out the cosby section of the national park and greenbriar.

Could use a new coffee pot and we were disappointed only one tv Had cable and no DVD players worked...difficult at night with the little ones but we made it work.

Quaint and Quiet

  • 5 of 5

The cabin was nice and clean. If quiet is what you're looking for, this is it. Unfortunately there was a burn ban and we were not able to use the fireplace which was disappointing.

Pleasant Seclusion!

  • 5 of 5

Very nice, clean, welcoming cabin in the woods. Well-equipped kitchen. Big porch with enough seating for all our guests to sit and enjoy the birds chirping in the mornings. Debbie was very helpful and pleasant.

Pleasant stay

  • 4 of 5

We enjoyed our weekend stay. The cabin was a little difficult to navigate to but that's the norm when you are staying in the woods! The house was inviting and well stocked. We were happy to find a stack of firewood and a pre-heated hot tub.

The gameroom was a nice addition but it is time to think of replacing the game tables. We still enjoyed ping-pong, pool and air hockey.

The porches were relaxing and we very much appreciated the pet friendly policy. Our small dog loved sniffing around in the woods and the elevated porch let us keep an eye on her. The charcoal Weber was a plus along with the woodburning fireplace.

It was a lovely and relaxing weekend. Thanks!
