Overview

Brinnon House Rental Photos and Description

Hood Canal Waterfront view of Hood Canal, Dabob Bay, Mt Rainier, and Mt Baker.

This Hood Canal vacation rental is a wonder to behold: Olympic National Park at your back door, and the Dosewallips Wildlife Estuary right in front. You'll see many birds native to the Pacific Northwest including bald and golden eagles, heron, geese, ducks and more. Orca whales, seals with their pups and river otter frequent the waters in front of you and from time to time the Brinnon Elk herd may visit the yard.

A new six-person jetted spa overlooking the water allows you to take it all in while relaxing in warmth and comfort. Large upper and lower decks provide a sweeping view of Hood Canal, Dabob Bay, Mt. Rainier and Mt. Baker. Private stairs to the beach with a large dock allow you to play, swim, fish or take the provided canoe out for a ride. At low tide, approximately 29 acres of pristine tide-lands.

Just a short walk down the road is the famous Geoduck Restaurant Lounge, voted #2 'Best Bars in the U.S.' by Esquire Magazine.

The just-remodeled home boasts an amazing 2,830 square feet of beautifully appointed living that can comfortably sleep up to 12 guests. The master bedroom stretches across the entire top floor of the home in a loft style. Additionally, we have outfitted the main floor with an upgraded queen-size sleeper sofa, and we offer a folding-style crib for those traveling with little ones.

We also offer a second waterfront 5 bedroom home in Brinnon. That new home is called Seal Rock and is 3 miles away from Nature's Paradise. The home sleeps 14 people comfortably in beds and is 3080 square feet. The dining room table seats 14 with 18 matching chairs. The Seal Rock home will be modeled after Nature's Paradise in amenities.

About Tammy Kreger

My husband and I bought this home in 2003 for the purpose of retiring early and living there. We're not ready to retire quite yet, and decided that we would really like to share this lovely home and the surrounding beauty with others!

I am proud and happy to say that I have lived in the Puget Sound area my entire life. One of my favorite pastimes is traveling. I have visited every continent, 60 different countries, and taken 44 cruises (so far!). Because I have spent so much time traveling, I truly have a good understanding of guests' needs and wants.

Even though I am happy to have seen so much of the world, I am always grateful to return to an area as gorgeous and diverse as the Pacific Northwest. I could choose anywhere in the world to retire to, but I have chosen Brinnon, Washington on Hood Canal for many reasons. Once you have visited this area, you will see why!

Tammy Kreger purchased this house in 2003

Why Tammy Kreger chose Hood Canal

I chose this particular property because of the outstanding sweeping view of Hood Canal and Dabob Bay. There is also a great view of Mt. Rainier and Mt. Baker.

My husband and I are big seafood fans and love all of the wonderful shellfish available to harvest near our home. We also like to take advantage of the private dock for setting out to shrimp, crab and fish.

We can't imagine a more beautiful environment to vacation in. It truly is 'Nature's Paradise!'; so we hope you'll come and enjoy it for yourselves!

What makes this house unique

The 29-acre privately-owned beach is fun to explore by foot (we provide rubber boots in many sizes). Explore the Dosewallips estuary by boat, you will probably see many seals, eagles, king fishers, osprey, etc. The tidelands also have many species of clams. Some of the best dungeness crabbing can be done directly in front of the home.

You are welcome to take the provided boat off the dock and put some crab pots in it to take out.You can simply paddle out a short distance and place the pots for fetching later in the day. My husband and I do so and catch our limits easily! Some of the best Hood Canal Spotted Shrimp are also caught in the waters in front of the home. Crabbing and Shrimp are seasonal.

It is also fascinating to watch the nuclear submarines practice in the waters out front of the home. Bird watching is another fun and relaxing experience from our 1,600 square-foot upper and lower decks, and from the dock.

The food resources available in the area are tremendous. Nearby there is clamming, oysters, crabbing, shrimping, sea run cutthroat fishing, salmon fishing, wild mountain blackberries, evergreen huckleberries, and mushrooms.

Often I enjoy watching the Brinnon Roosevelt elk herd graze in the Dosewallips pasture lands right from my decks. Sometimes the elk actually come to my yard and graze on my landscaping!

Perfect Family Retreat Property!

  • 5 of 5

I chose this property on-line for our family memorial and reunion. I took a chance based on the photos and description, and it lived up to the ad and more! With all age ranges, everyone in our family was happy and busy enjoying something on the property. Crabbing, walking the beach, bird watching (beautiful family of bald eagles), fireside s'mores and hot tubbing kept everyone occupied. The kitchen was extremely well appointed and the outdoor grill was a plus. The owners were also very accommodating. I highly recommend this pacific northwest property for a large family get-a-way!

Owner's Response: We are glad that all ages and everyone in your family had a fun stay at Nature's Paradise. Family re-unions and memories are precious. It is fun to try crabbing, watch the wildlife, beach comb, etc. At the end of the day feel your stress leave your body with a soak in the water and mountain view jetted spa. Enjoy our water view fire pit and roast a few marsh mellows with the entire family. It is fun to prepare special meals for your family in our well appointed kitchen. We are so happy that you will be returning next summer for your second stay. Thank you, Tammy

It was a beautiful spot to get away from the hustle and bustle and experience nature.

  • 5 of 5

Nature's Paradise was an excellent rental. The house was clean and the beds very comfortable. It was great having the boats to drop the supplied crab pots with the bait being supplied. We spent the first two days just hanging out and enjoying the awesome view. Lots of seals and bald eagles. We would definitely like to return. Tammy was great to work with. Thank you!

Wonderful spot for a family retreat

  • 5 of 5

We had a great time during our 4 days at Nature's Retreat. The house had all the amenities one could want including a fantastic view! The surrounding area is full of amazing wildlife, and we had a great time exploring on foot and in the canoe. Using the crab pots is a fun (although very tiring!) experience, and enjoying them steamed with some old bay seasoning makes all the hard work worth it! S'mores under the moonlight, relaxing dips in the hot tub, too many great things to list. Would definitely recommend for families or groups looking for a scenic and relaxing retreat!

Owner's Response: We are so happy when we hear that families have a wonderful time at Nature's Paradise. We provide many amenities for our groups to enjoy our home and property. Some of those are canoe and row boat on our private dock, life jackets in many sizes, rubber boots, crab pots, crab bait, oyster knives, buckets, shovels, rakes, etc. It is fun to enjoy the end of the day with a fire in the fire pit or relax in the jetted spa, (both water view). We are so close to Seattle but you will feel like you are a world away. Thank you for enjoying our home with your family, we will look forward to your next stay. Thank you, Tammy

Family Memories Enjoyed at Natures Paradise

  • 5 of 5

Not sure how Tammy worked it out with the weather department; but it was absolutely beautify. 90 to 95 during the day cooling to 75 in the evenings. One of the best memories was watching the grandaughters (11&14) coax their fathers into the canoe and teach the girls how to row. Wonderful/Wonderful family times. Dinner on the Deck was time for reminiscing and creating new memories for the grandkids as the listened to all the stories.

Great location, average house.

  • 3 of 5

Excellent location on the water with an abundance of wildlife and beautiful views. Very clean.

Right off main highway, traffic noise is unfortunate.

Well stocked kitchen made cooking easy. Rubber boots, crabbing, fishing supplies a convenient touch.

House really only has one traditional, nice bedroom, and that room shares the hallway bathroom. Master bedroom is spacious, but is a loft with no door to provide privacy, or block out sound from main floor. Also very bright in the AM.

The remaining 3 bedrooms downstairs are in what's really more like a basement. I wouldn't put adults down there, kids only. Linoleum floors, uncomfortable beds, incredibly small shower.

Owner's Response: Reviews are very important to my hard working care-taking team and myself. We have received 70 five star reviews, two four star reviews, and one three star review. I honestly believe the reason our guest rated us so low was because she and her guests left our home dirtier than almost any guest we have had since we became a vacation rental home four years ago. On the average it takes two care-takers four hours each to make the house guest ready, this group it took 17 and 1/2 hour to make the house ready for our next guests. There was a lot of damage. She blamed it on her three teenage boys. It is hard for me to understand why a mother would let her children damage a beautiful home that they were guests in. Along with the damage her boys dug up our landscaping in the yard, I honestly don't understand why any parent would allow this bad behavior. We do have five bedrooms, the loft master bedroom is the entire top floor and there is no door at the top of the stairs. We have had very positive feedback in our reviews about how comfortable our beds are and the high quality high thread count bedding. People do like to be able to decide how they want bedrooms three and four made up, being able to choose a king sized bed or two extra-long twin sized beds in each of those rooms. The loft master bedroom closet does have a linoleum floor but nowhere else in the house. The rest of the house has carpet or porcelain tile. We have three full bathrooms one on each floor, the loft master bedroom and downstairs showers are walk-in. We try our hardest to provide a wonderful home away from home for our guests to enjoy nature and do things they may have never done before. Thank you, Tammy

Location, location, location!

  • 5 of 5

This house has a big deck overlooking incredible tidelands where we saw a seal giving birth, many birds, and even a family of sea otters. It's well-equipped and furnished, perfect for a big group or family.

Owner's Response: It is so fun to see nature like the seal pup birth right from the large decks or jetted spa. Bird watching is fantastic from our home or tide-lands. It is fun to watch the sea otter families eat and play. We are glad your large group enjoyed our large, well appointed, comfortable home. We try to have what you need to enjoy our property, it is hard to bring it yourselves. We will look forward to welcoming you back for your next stay at Nature's Paradise, thank you, Tammy.
