About the property

Hood Canal Waterfront view of Hood Canal, Dabob Bay, Mt Rainier, and Mt Baker.

This Hood Canal vacation rental is a wonder to behold: Olympic National Park at your back door, and the Dosewallips Wildlife Estuary right in front. You'll see many birds native to the Pacific Northwest including bald and golden eagles, heron, geese, ducks and more. Orca whales, seals with their pups and river otter frequent the waters in front of you and from time to time the Brinnon Elk herd may visit the yard.

A new six-person jetted spa overlooking the water allows you to take it all in while relaxing in warmth and comfort. Large upper and lower decks provide a sweeping view of Hood Canal, Dabob Bay, Mt. Rainier and Mt. Baker. Private stairs to the beach with a large dock allow you to play, swim, fish or take the provided canoe out for a ride. At low tide, approximately 29 acres of pristine tide-lands.

Just a short walk down the road is the famous Geoduck Restaurant Lounge, voted #2 'Best Bars in the U.S.' by Esquire Magazine.

The just-remodeled home boasts an amazing 2,830 square feet of beautifully appointed living that can comfortably sleep up to 12 guests. The master bedroom stretches across the entire top floor of the home in a loft style. Additionally, we have outfitted the main floor with an upgraded queen-size sleeper sofa, and we offer a folding-style crib for those traveling with little ones.

We also offer a second waterfront 5 bedroom home in Brinnon. That new home is called Seal Rock and is 3 miles away from Nature's Paradise. The home sleeps 14 people comfortably in beds and is 3080 square feet. The dining room table seats 14 with 18 matching chairs. The Seal Rock home will be modeled after Nature's Paradise in amenities.

About Tammy Kreger

My husband and I bought this home in 2003 for the purpose of retiring early and living there. We're not ready to retire quite yet, and decided that we would really like to share this lovely home and the surrounding beauty with others!

I am proud and happy to say that I have lived in the Puget Sound area my entire life. One of my favorite pastimes is traveling. I have visited every continent, 60 different countries, and taken 44 cruises (so far!). Because I have spent so much time traveling, I truly have a good understanding of guests' needs and wants.

Even though I am happy to have seen so much of the world, I am always grateful to return to an area as gorgeous and diverse as the Pacific Northwest. I could choose anywhere in the world to retire to, but I have chosen Brinnon, Washington on Hood Canal for many reasons. Once you have visited this area, you will see why!

Tammy Kreger purchased this house in 2003

Why Tammy Kreger chose Hood Canal

I chose this particular property because of the outstanding sweeping view of Hood Canal and Dabob Bay. There is also a great view of Mt. Rainier and Mt. Baker.

My husband and I are big seafood fans and love all of the wonderful shellfish available to harvest near our home. We also like to take advantage of the private dock for setting out to shrimp, crab and fish.

We can't imagine a more beautiful environment to vacation in. It truly is 'Nature's Paradise!'; so we hope you'll come and enjoy it for yourselves!

What makes this house unique

The 29-acre privately-owned beach is fun to explore by foot (we provide rubber boots in many sizes). Explore the Dosewallips estuary by boat, you will probably see many seals, eagles, king fishers, osprey, etc. The tidelands also have many species of clams. Some of the best dungeness crabbing can be done directly in front of the home.

You are welcome to take the provided boat off the dock and put some crab pots in it to take out.You can simply paddle out a short distance and place the pots for fetching later in the day. My husband and I do so and catch our limits easily! Some of the best Hood Canal Spotted Shrimp are also caught in the waters in front of the home. Crabbing and Shrimp are seasonal.

It is also fascinating to watch the nuclear submarines practice in the waters out front of the home. Bird watching is another fun and relaxing experience from our 1,600 square-foot upper and lower decks, and from the dock.

The food resources available in the area are tremendous. Nearby there is clamming, oysters, crabbing, shrimping, sea run cutthroat fishing, salmon fishing, wild mountain blackberries, evergreen huckleberries, and mushrooms.

Often I enjoy watching the Brinnon Roosevelt elk herd graze in the Dosewallips pasture lands right from my decks. Sometimes the elk actually come to my yard and graze on my landscaping!

Beautiful property

  • 5 of 5

This was our second stay at Nature's Paradise and it didn't disappoint. The house is well stocked with everything we needed while we were there and the views are just amazing. We had the opportunity to see the submarine this time which was really cool. Enjoying fresh clams and oysters harvested from the tidelands down the road is not to be missed. The kids enjoyed exploring the waterfront during low tide and also enjoyed the video game in the basement. We had 6 kids between our two families and there was plenty of space for everyone to spread out and do different things.

Thanks for sharing your home, Tammy! We look forward to next time!

Hollis and Daisy (Diva Dogs) Love Nature's Paradise

  • 5 of 5

The Diva Dogs loved their fourth stay at Nature's Paradise. We took an epic hike to Lena Lake. Walked along the beach. Walked in the Dosewalips. Walked to the Rocky Brook falls. Walked. And Walked. Every time we got back there was an amazing comfortable house, well-stocked kitchen, and a great hot tub waiting for us. The beds were unbelievably comfortable. Cannot say enough about how amazing this home is for our winter escapes.

Great for a large group

  • 4 of 5

Six moms had our annual weekend at Nature's Paradise. Favorite things besides just being together: hot tub, woodstove (but couldn't get the door unlocked once it was hot), VIEW (binoculars included), and lots of beds and bedrooms! Very clean home, tile floor. Well stocked kitchen and downstairs bar/porch for warm weather. Didn't take the row boat out but next time we will... Took walks and a hike at Dosewallips state park just next door, saw a huge herd of elk in the campground (Jan. 2017) and a bald eagle staring at us from a perch on the way there. We rearranged couches around the woodstove but -- only downside of this place -- not enough comfy couch space for all 6 of us.

Owner's Response: We are sorry that you had trouble with the handle on the wood stove. My Care-taking team will make sure in the future that there will not be a problem with it. My Care-taking team do such an excellent job making sure our home is exceptionally clean and comfortable. All of the bedrooms have extra comfortable mattresses and high thread count bedding. Our kitchen is very well appointed. There are wonderful hikes very near to our home. It is very exciting to see a huge herd of elk. Sometimes you can see them in the Dosewallips Estuary from our decks and sometimes they come into our yard. We will look forward to your next stay. Thank you, Tammy

Owner's Response: We love having multiple generations enjoying our homes, properties, and each other. The house is set up great for larger groups and with the three floors and open floor plan people don't feel crowded. We decorate for the holidays with a Christmas tree and outside lights. We hope you will come back again to enjoy our home. Thank you, Tammy

Amazing cabin with great view of the lake

  • 5 of 5

I saw one of the most beautiful rainbows of my life from the front deck of this cabin. Everything was supper organized and we did not need anything we did not find! If you are planning to stay at this cabin, please please pack less! We were a group of 12 people and almost everybody thought it was the best cabin they every stayed in.

Owner's Response: We try to have everything people need for an enjoyable stay. Most of our guests are from out of state and out of the country and it is hard to take a lot of things with you on the airplane. We get positive comments about our well appointed kitchen. Our home is well maintained and we have amenities that will help you enjoy our home and property. My Care-taking team take great pride in providing a clean home. We are glad that the twelve of you were comfortable and happy. We will look forward to you enjoying our home again in the future. Thank you, Tammy
