Overview

Hood Canal House Rental Photos and Description

Hood Canal Waterfront view of Hood Canal, Dabob Bay, Mt Rainier, and Mt Baker.

This Hood Canal vacation rental is a wonder to behold: Olympic National Park at your back door, and the Dosewallips Wildlife Estuary right in front. You'll see many birds native to the Pacific Northwest including bald and golden eagles, heron, geese, ducks and more. Orca whales, seals with their pups and river otter frequent the waters in front of you and from time to time the Brinnon Elk herd may visit the yard.

A new six-person jetted spa overlooking the water allows you to take it all in while relaxing in warmth and comfort. Large upper and lower decks provide a sweeping view of Hood Canal, Dabob Bay, Mt. Rainier and Mt. Baker. Private stairs to the beach with a large dock allow you to play, swim, fish or take the provided canoe out for a ride. At low tide, approximately 29 acres of pristine tide-lands.

Just a short walk down the road is the famous Geoduck Restaurant Lounge, voted #2 'Best Bars in the U.S.' by Esquire Magazine.

The just-remodeled home boasts an amazing 2,830 square feet of beautifully appointed living that can comfortably sleep up to 12 guests. The master bedroom stretches across the entire top floor of the home in a loft style. Additionally, we have outfitted the main floor with an upgraded queen-size sleeper sofa, and we offer a folding-style crib for those traveling with little ones.

We also offer a second waterfront 5 bedroom home in Brinnon. That new home is called Seal Rock and is 3 miles away from Nature's Paradise. The home sleeps 14 people comfortably in beds and is 3080 square feet. The dining room table seats 14 with 18 matching chairs. The Seal Rock home will be modeled after Nature's Paradise in amenities.

About Tammy Kreger

My husband and I bought this home in 2003 for the purpose of retiring early and living there. We're not ready to retire quite yet, and decided that we would really like to share this lovely home and the surrounding beauty with others!

I am proud and happy to say that I have lived in the Puget Sound area my entire life. One of my favorite pastimes is traveling. I have visited every continent, 60 different countries, and taken 44 cruises (so far!). Because I have spent so much time traveling, I truly have a good understanding of guests' needs and wants.

Even though I am happy to have seen so much of the world, I am always grateful to return to an area as gorgeous and diverse as the Pacific Northwest. I could choose anywhere in the world to retire to, but I have chosen Brinnon, Washington on Hood Canal for many reasons. Once you have visited this area, you will see why!

Tammy Kreger purchased this house in 2003

Why Tammy Kreger chose Hood Canal

I chose this particular property because of the outstanding sweeping view of Hood Canal and Dabob Bay. There is also a great view of Mt. Rainier and Mt. Baker.

My husband and I are big seafood fans and love all of the wonderful shellfish available to harvest near our home. We also like to take advantage of the private dock for setting out to shrimp, crab and fish.

We can't imagine a more beautiful environment to vacation in. It truly is 'Nature's Paradise!'; so we hope you'll come and enjoy it for yourselves!

What makes this house unique

The 29-acre privately-owned beach is fun to explore by foot (we provide rubber boots in many sizes). Explore the Dosewallips estuary by boat, you will probably see many seals, eagles, king fishers, osprey, etc. The tidelands also have many species of clams. Some of the best dungeness crabbing can be done directly in front of the home.

You are welcome to take the provided boat off the dock and put some crab pots in it to take out.You can simply paddle out a short distance and place the pots for fetching later in the day. My husband and I do so and catch our limits easily! Some of the best Hood Canal Spotted Shrimp are also caught in the waters in front of the home. Crabbing and Shrimp are seasonal.

It is also fascinating to watch the nuclear submarines practice in the waters out front of the home. Bird watching is another fun and relaxing experience from our 1,600 square-foot upper and lower decks, and from the dock.

The food resources available in the area are tremendous. Nearby there is clamming, oysters, crabbing, shrimping, sea run cutthroat fishing, salmon fishing, wild mountain blackberries, evergreen huckleberries, and mushrooms.

Often I enjoy watching the Brinnon Roosevelt elk herd graze in the Dosewallips pasture lands right from my decks. Sometimes the elk actually come to my yard and graze on my landscaping!

Amazing Vacation in Nature's Paradise

  • 5 of 5

We spent a week at this wonderful home on the Hood Canal while we visited for a family reunion in nearby Quilcene. There was plenty of space to accommodate two families + and to allow us to host dinner one evening for other family members visiting. The home was immaculate and the view spectacular. We could see dozens of harbor seals from the balcony every high tide an bald eagles every day. There were hummingbirds constantly buzzing around the feeders. Although the state had declared the beaches in front of the house off limits for shellfish, the home is within minutes of the state park so we were able to catch our daily limit of oysters and clams.

There is so much good to say about this property it is hard to capture it all, but what truly makes it special is there is no detail missed by Tammy and her husband. Fishing poles were available to fish at the shore, plenty of boots, buckets, and tools for exploring the low tide and shell fishing. A rowboat and canoe were available with plenty of life vests (don't underestimate the currents caused by the tide changes). A hottub with a fantastic view and plenty of large towels. A nice gas grill for hosting a cookout and plenty of kitchen ware and dinner ware. Even though the table is quite large there was also a nice folding table and folding chairs to host our family for dinner which was a highlight of the trip.

This is a wonderful property for a family vacation and the first place we will look next time we travel to the area!

Owner's Response: We are so glad that your two families were extremely comfortable in our home. The home is set up well for everyone to gather in the living room and dining room or on the large decks. There is still a lot of privacy throughout the house. The views can't be beat it is like watching the nature channel. We really appreciate our guests that travel a long way by airplane, we try to have many amenities available to be able to experience everything the area has to offer. It would be hard to take everything on the airplane with you and you may not know what you would need to bring or buy. It is fun to take out our boats to explore the Dosewallips Estuary. You may see the submarines and a lot of wildlife. We keep plenty of propane on hand for our grill and outside crab and clam cooker (three tanks). Nature's Paradise is an ideal place for a family vacation. It is great as well for girls groups, couples, etc. Thank you for staying at our home, Tammy

We have stayed there several times for a sister's weekend, but decided to bring the family along this time. It was perfect for our several families and so accommodating as always! We love how much of everything there is for our large group, from blankets, dishes and cookware to rain boots and adventure gear. We will definitely be making this family getaway a tradition as well! Thanks Tammy for making our getaways stress free😊

Perfect getaway - "Paradise" is an understatement!

  • 5 of 5

Everything about this property was perfect for our group getaway. From the pre-trip communication, to pulling in to the driveway with ample parking and seeing the INCREDIBLE view for the first time, we knew we were in for a treat before we even entered the house!

The house was well stocked with every kitchen appliance/dish/glassware we needed (and then some). The welcome basket and even treats for the dog were icing on the cake. We had plenty of space to eat on the porch and at the table inside and enjoyed a fire in the wood burning stove during the cool evenings.

We enjoyed walking in the canal during low tide, with enough rubber boots for everyone, and spent LOTS of time soaking in the hot tub with gorgeous views of the Hood Canal (like seriously - morning, noon and night) and we also used the fire pit and had plenty of firewood available. We hiked nearby in Dosewallips State Park and then also a little further south at Lena Lake, which was beautiful!

Everything in the description was accurate and the property was well maintained as well. The owners made sure we knew they were available but everything was so well prepared that we didn't need to get in touch with them at all, except a text after departing to thank them for such a wonderful weekend!

I really cannot say enough how perfect this house was for our group - we will definitely be returning (and recommending)!

Owner's Response: We are so glad that your group had a wonderful birthday celebration stay. The views are breathtaking from inside our home from most rooms especially from our large picture windows. The views are also amazing from our upper and lower decks, the dock, or jetted spa. You feel the stress leave your body with frequent sightings of eagles, osprey, king fishers, etc. It is fun to eat in and use our well appointed kitchen. It is fun to explore our tide-lands and Dosewallips Estuary by foot or by canoe or row boat. It is enjoyable to sit around our water view fire pit and roast marsh mellows, hot dogs, and make s'mores. We try very hard to make sure our homes are very well maintained. It is my pleasure to be available for our guests to ask questions or help with a special request. We will look forward to welcoming you back for your next stay. Thank you, Tammy

WOW #2- 2nd visit as good as the first

  • 5 of 5

Cannot say enough good things about this rental. Once again was exceptionally clean and had a great time. This time we got to stay an entire week and enjoyed the view and cooked every day as the view from the kitchen is awesome. We did harvest some oysters. From our last visit in December they had done some improvements to the deck and overhang below that shows this owner truly cares about their investment. We loved this time of year, as we caught it just right to see the Japanese Cherry trees blooming and along with the dogwoods as we left. This place is well kept and maintained. This home is well worth coming back and as we said before we will be back. Thanks Tammy for sharing your home and keeping it so well kept. We loved our stay!!!!!

Exceptional!

  • 5 of 5

This property is exceptional on every level. Value, quality, customer service, location, views, amenities...the list goes on and on. Our family stayed at Nature's Paradise over spring break. From the moment I contacted her with questions about the property, Tammy, the owner, was fabulous. She was extremely pleasant and answered all of my questions. The property itself is absolutely amazing. The views of the Hood Canal are spectacular! We were fortunate to have sunny, warm weather so we enjoyed combing the beach for clams, oysters and other treasures. Wayne, Tammy's husband, even stopped by one day and shared his knowledge of shell-fishing with us! The two boats that are provided for guests to use add a unique perspective of the water and shoreline. Inside, we found the property to be immaculate and very comfortable. Our children especially enjoyed the two arcade games in the basement. The hot tub was a bonus that we enjoyed a great deal. In summary, I can't possibly say enough good things about Natures Paradise and it's owners. I highly recommend this property to anyone that is looking for a relaxing, comfortable, scenic, exceptional vacation rental.

Owner's Response: We are so happy and proud that you enjoyed everything about our home so much. My care-taking/cleaning team do an amazing job making the whole property ready for our guests to enjoy. We are grateful to have them working for and with us. It is fun to use the boats and life jackets to explore the Dosewallips Estuary. During crabbing season we supply crab pots and crab bait to put out and wait for sweet delicious Dungeness crab to crawl in the pots. We are glad that your family was comfortable in our home. The arcade games downstairs are fun for all ages, they are full size cabinets that were what you would see about 30 years ago in taverns. Back then you would put a quarter in to play a game. We have a way to have you play without spending the quarter. It is so relaxing to unwind in the water view jetted spa. We will look forward to welcoming your family back for your next stay. Thank you, Tammy
