Lincoln Park/Lakeview 2-story, 2-bdr & 2.5-bth Guesthouse w/deck & 1 Gig Int!
I'm a middle aged professional and 26 year resident of the Lincoln Park / Lakeview / DePaul / Gold Coast neighborhoods. Chicago is a wonderful place to visit year round with all that it has to offer and the Coach House is the comfy home away from home to base your stay. I truly like to engage with visiting guests especially assisting with suggestions / recommendations but will not be intrusive. For most visitors, Spring, Summer and Fall in Chicago is the best time to enjoy the 18 mile Lakefront, parks, festivals and art fairs, farmers markets, outdoor drinks and dining, concerts, sightseeing and landmark locations and Cubs and Sox baseball. However, the late Fall through early Spring including Thanksgiving, Christmas, Hanukkah and long weekends are a great time to visit Chicago with family and friends for the holiday lights, sightseeing, cultural and festive activities and the Chicago Bears, Bulls and Blackhawks!
BR purchased this Guest House in 1997

Home Away From Home
We visit Chicago frequently and always stay at the Coach House. If you read the reviews (all five star) you’ll know why.
Bill, the owner, is meticulous, very friendly, knowledgeable, and lives right next door in the event you need to get a hold of him. Everything is immaculate. He thinks of everything you may want or need while away.
The house has all the comforts of home and the location couldn’t be better.
Looking forward to our next stay there.
Always a wonderful pleasure to have my favorite returning guests stay in the Coach House. Owner's couldn't find nicer people / travelers who respect their property while staying and then leaving it in perfect shape upon departure!
Amazing Coach House in Lincoln Park
Wonderful Host! Beautiful Coach House in a great location with all the amenities.
Wonderful family and highest recommendation to all Owners / Hosts! Welcome back anytime.
Everything was exactly as described and more! Bill was a great host and we will be back again!! Thank you for a wonderful place to stay!
Erin’s family were wonderful, friendly and respectful guests in the CH for five nights and left the place ahead of checkout time in absolutely perfect condition!
Welcome back anytime and the highest recommendation to all Owners!
Adorable carriage house which Bill filled with everything we needed, and so much more. My 2 year old grandson needed a baby gate, and Bill came immediately and put it in. He had parking passes for us, along with a zoo pass and restaurant recommendations. The location was great for access to the L, which was super helpful. We oops, forgot some things, and Bill has made arrangements to mail them off. Our whole family was super impressed. We would definitely stay here again!
Jana's family were wonderful guests -- highest recommendation and welcome back anytime!
Property was comfortable, clean, just as described. What put it over the top was the owner/manager Bill. He was awesome and so was the attention to detail. We had fresh flowers, wine, help with luggage, everything was excellent. We can't imagine staying anywhere else if we visit again.
Thank you for wonderful review -- it was such a pleasure to have you stay at the Coach House and so glad you had a wonderful time!
Great place, great location, great host
The Coach House is easily the most comfortable and best equipped rental I’ve experienced. Bill is a gracious and helpful host.
So glad you enjoyed the Coach House and thanks for the awesome review! It was such a pleasure to have wonderful traveler / guests -- welcome back anytime!
When you’re ready to explore the area, grab a bite to eat, drink, shop or play -- just a few steps out your door and you’re already there. Stroll a little further and you’re at the Lakefront, Lincoln Park Zoo or Wrigley Field. Use public transportation, car, Uber/Lyft/Taxi and Divvy Bike and the city is yours!
The Lakeview / Lincoln Park / DePaul neighborhoods are an amazing place to base your vacation / visit to Chicago from. Everything guests could possibly want to do, see and experience while in Chicago is either right here, steps from the Coach House or within a short distance via walking, public and private transportation, bike and car. Visit places like Wrigley Field, the Lakefront (18 miles) including North Avenue and Ohio Street beaches, Lincoln Park Zoo, Parks, Museums, Chicago Riverfront and the Magnificent Mile, Millennium and Maggie Daley Parks and Navy Pier just to name a few as well as other surrounding amazing neighborhoods. Activities like walking, biking and boating and swimming along the 18 mile Lakefront, weekend neighborhood festivals, music and art festivals and farmers markets, Chicago River and Lakefront cruises and architectural tours and neighborhood walking tours and nature walks. There are grocery stores within walking / short drive like Trader Joes, Whole Foods, Marciano's as well as convenience stores with pharmacies including Walgreen's, CVS and Walmart Market just steps away. There are retail stores to shop in and amazing diverse and eclectic places to eat, drink, coffee and tea and socialize on almost every street and street corner steps away!
If you're not already well aware, Chicago has an amazing and easy to use public transportation system -- the CTA (Chicago Transit Authority), from both airports (ORD and MDW) to the city and buses and trains to every neighborhood. You can pay-as-you-go for about $2.25 one-way or pick up a CTA 1,3,7 or 30 day Ventra Transit Account Card and ride the buses and trains any distance as much as you want. The CTA website / APP can help with every aspect of travel plans while you're here on your vacation.
Chicago also has one of the largest bike rental programs, just under 5000 bikes at almost 500 neighborhood stations -- Divvy Bike Share Program. You can rent at one docking station and ride as long as you want and when you're finished, just drop off at a station nearest destination.
The city is easy to explore walking around with it's well planned grid street system -- if you get tired, simply hop on a bus or train or call on private transportation to get you to your destination or back home.
Of course there are private transportation services like Uber and Lyft and Chicago Taxis which can be summoned in a moments notice via their apps to take you to and from anywhere in the city or suburbs.
If your travel plans take you to the Chicagoland metropolitan area, you may want to consider Metra railroad which operates 241 stations on 11 different lines.
Last but not least, if you choose to rent a car while visiting, there are several well known rental car branches, such as Enterprise, Budget and Hertz just blocks away.
Just some of the local neighborhoods and places of interest and things to see and do while you are here:
Wrigleyville: (with the Cubs/Sox crosstown classic going on tonight) should be hopping tonight -- anywhere around Wrigley Field to anywhere south on Clark street should be rocking with people. Checkout this link: https://www.timeout.com/chicago/wrigleyville
Waterfront and Lakefront / North Avenue and Oak Street Beaches: 18 mile lakefront perfect for walking, running, biking(Divvy bikes), people watching. You can grab chow and drinks at places like Castaways Bar & Grill and Oak Street Beach Food and Drink.
