Beautifully designed flat renovated by a leading architect. 140 square meters (1507 ft2), 3 balconies. Next to Puerta del Sol, and very close to Santa Ana Square. Walking distance to Madrid's main architectural attractions: Plaza Mayor, Sol, Royal Palace or the Chueca district, as well as the main Museums: Prado, Reina Sofia, Caixa and Thyssen.
This flat is ideal for either the business traveler or the tourist. The tube (metro) is on the doorstep: Sol, Gran Vía, and Callao tube stations are within walking distance, as well as several bus stops nearby.
The flat is located on Cadiz Street, with several bars, restaurants and old tapas bars, which are a favorite with most visitors, as well as the locals. The building has an elevator.
The flat is fully furnished. Two double bedrooms, with queen size beds ( and a Crib) and 2 ensuite bathrooms, 1 of which with Jacuzzi. 2 double Sofa beds in the sitting room, big flat screen TV, WiFi, amazing open plan kitchen, fully furnished with all mod cons: air conditioning, dishwasher, and heating. The flat is newly painted just last January 2017.
The apartment is just in the center of Madrid, walking distance to all touristic places to visit.
The apartment is on the second floor with lift of a typical building of Spanish AUSTRIA Style
Huge apartment with high ceilings and the apartment is quiet because is soundproofed
The apartment is very well located. It is very large and very well kept.
We did have a problem getting in as I could not reach the owner. We had communicated directly several times via email and I had her cell. After about 45 minutes (no answer) I thought to check VBRO and found a note from the owner with a new number posted by the owner a few days prior. That got us a management co. and they sent someone over. So problem solved. Just a bit annoying.
I would recommend this apartment as a great place to stay.
This property is extraordinary in every respect - location, decor, amenities, space, design, everything. Located mere steps from Puerta del Sol, it opens to all the liveliness of the area, yet is so well insulated that the sounds of the street - (even on New Year's Eve!) - were nearly completely suppressed. Great location from which to explore the city, whether by Metro or walking. Spacious and welcoming.
The apartment was perfect for our family of 5. It was spotless upon arrival and had everything we could need for our stay. We really appreciated the architecture of the unit, and the attention to detail. The location was excellent to walk to everything. We highly recommend the apartment overall. Our only complaint was the noise. Because we were 5 people, one of our children had to sleep in the living room on the sofa bed. The noise level coming from the street was horrible (with the windows shut) from all the people just "hanging out" on the street, or eating and drinking in the nearby bars. Every night the yelling and singing would start about 9PM and go on until 5 in the morning. The noise could even be heard in the bedrooms with the doors shut. The final night, someone was playing drums (or there was an impromptu dance party) from about 11PM until about 5AM off and on - the whole apartment was shaking. None of this is the owner's fault and we would give the unit/owner 5 stars, but we feel obligated to take a star away due to the excessive amount of noise.
Like many I will say the location is excellent. The apartment is large, clean, well equipped with comfortable furniture. The kitchen was also very good although the coffee pot was very small. I would also say the main bathroom was also excellent and apartment generally clean..
I've rented a number of locations in Europe through VRBO and never had a problem communicating with the owner manager. This property we had problems. This was very frustrating not knowing if we we're going to meet someone to give us a key and tell us about the apartment. I finally got a email one day before our arrival. Before the trip I wrote the manager several times but all I got was a standard message which didn't give any details. Weeks before I sent a message on our arrival time in Madrid but she asked me again a day before on our arrival time. Also, when we did meet this person assigned to us she was in a hurry to leave and didn't speak much English. We had to learn for ourselves how to close the motorized window shades which cut the noise from the street. We also had a problem with no blanket or comforter for one of the beds I finally got to speak to the manager. She informed me she no longer managed (You would of thought I would have been notified) this location but would forward my concern to the office in Madrid. I then called back because she suggested I look under the bed and she said she or another person would stop by the next day. No one ever showed up.
