Property type house
Minimum Stay 7 nights

About the property

3 Bedrooms, 2 Baths, Sleeps 6

Welcome to your very own secluded 11 acre paradise. Begin your day gazing out over the turquoise waters of the Atlantic Ocean from your expansive terrace high atop your private sand dune. Soak up the warm rays of the sun while taking in the unparalleled vista before you. Or, meander down your private path and let your toes sink into the soft pink sand of your pristine beach.

Wander the shoreline stretching for miles in both directions. Don't be surprised if yours are the only footprints you see. Dip into the crystalline clear water or if you feel energized by your stunning surroundings, swim the length of the beach before breakfast. Protective coral reefs allow only warm gentle waves to lap your shore.

After breakfast don your snorkel and mask and explore the many reefs right in front of your luxury beach house. Discover colourful tropical fish and lush corals. Or, pack a picnic and head off to explore the countless spectacular beaches that line both sides of your island.

On your way home pick up freshly caught fish or lobster, from the local fisherman, and freshly picked organic veggies from the local farmer, to prepare for dinner in your gourmet kitchen. Or, try one of the fabulous nearby restaurants, only minutes from your door. Marvel at the sun setting across the harbour while swaying to the rhythm of island music.

At the end of the day, take a minute to revel in the trillions of stars high above your secluded piece of paradise. Then fall into your king-size bed and drift off, lulled to sleep by the gentle roll of the surf below.

Stepping inside Tourmaline is escaping the world and entering your very own piece of paradise. As you enter the Great Room you will be awe-struck by the spectacular view that greets you through the three massive glass doors (all with 20/20 screens to keep out even the tiniest of no-seeums) and the floor-to-ceiling native stone walls.

Your open-plan main living area links effortlessly with the expansive terrace over-looking the ocean below. Stop to enjoy the view from one of the many comfortable chairs and sofas, watch a movie on your 48” TV or tinkle the ivories on your baby grand Steinway piano. Or continue on into the large dining area with another huge patio door leading to the terrace and outdoor dining area. This bright room boasts huge windows on all sides offering more views of the ocean. The large pine dining table seats six comfortably.

The completely remodeled gourmet kitchen boasts quartz counter tops with several great work areas, double stainless steel sinks, all-new appliances and inside and under-cabinet lighting. The kitchen’s large windows overlook the gardens.

Just off the great room you will discover the main floor master bedroom with King-size bed, walk-in closet and sitting area, TV, night tables with 3-way reading lamps and private ensuite bathroom with open-concept shower. Just outside the ensuite you will find your private side patio, laundry room and outdoor shower. Another massive glass door leads to your terrace and provides breath-taking views of the turquoise waters of the Atlantic and welcomes constant gentle breezes.

Also on the main floor is the nautical 3rd bedroom designed with kids in mind, but suitable for adults too. This room boasts Twin bunk beds and small dresser, and more large windows, and yet another door, leading to the terrace. You will even discover a telescope for viewing the spectacular display of stars at night and passing cruise ships.

Upstairs you will discover another Master Bedroom and ensuite bathroom with walk-in closet, glass shower and double sink vanity. This spectacular room boasts more large windows over-looking the sea, a king-size Bermuda bed, night tables with 3-way reading lamps, TV, and sitting area.

As Tourmaline has been recently completely renovated and redecorated, most furniture, including all beds, mattresses, bedding and linens are brand new. Amenities include air conditioning throughout, WIFI, satellite TV, ceiling fans, outdoor showers, and new private salt water pool.

Best vacation ever and the most beautiful property

  • 5 of 5

Wow what a wonderful vacation at a wonderful property. Arguably the best vacation ever for our family. Tourmaline was out of this world. We could have stayed right there and had a wonderful time. We snorkeled behind the house for hour after hour! We took many long walks and did lots of beach combing. Tourmaline's care taker Perry was excellent and immediately available. I hope he didn’t get bored but we never needed to call him as everything had been taken care of in advance. Everything with the house was as advertised and even more beautiful in person. Gorgeous views of the ocean and reefs from every room. The house was very clean and everything was thoughtfully put together to make for a great vacation. To be on the ocean with the elevation made for a wonderful viewing experience. We loved going up and down the natural trail and short walk to be beach immediately in front of the house. The beach there was gorgeous as well as very private. The location of Tourmaline is very convenient regarding its central position in Eleuthera. Ten minutes from Governors Harbor and multiple nearby restaurants. We could easily reach destinations to the north or the south. We definitely made good use of the rental car. It was very nice to have the gorgeous pool available on the property. We appreciate all the efforts it took to have it up and going for our stay. Of course we were in the ocean more than in the pool. We rented a boat from Jeremy Lewis. Keeping the boat moored in Governors Harbor was extremely convenient! The boat was excellent and Jeremy is my new best friend. He and his associate Rock took us fishing and showed us a great time! We had great luck and had fish to eat every day for the rest of the vacation!

Pam Fontes and Tara at Eleuthera vacation rentals were excellent help preparing for our trip. They made sure every detail was covered and helped us make plans for activities in advance. They connected me with Jeremy Lewis and helped us find a rental car.

The locals of Eleuthera are very nice and friendly. We always were made to feel welcome.

I highly recommend Tourmaline and the helpful people of Eleuthera vacation rentals. We hope to return ourselves and would recommend vacationing there to our friends and relatives.

Beautiful Home with Fantastic Views

  • 5 of 5

Tourmaline is an incredibly comfortable home in a terrific area of Eleuthera. It is close to Governor's Harbour and North Palmetto Point. The house is impeccably decorated with bright colors and the work of talented local artists. The kitchen was well-stocked with anything you might need. The beds were comfortable and there was plenty of space in the bedrooms and bathrooms. It was nice to have a safe just in case.

The patio is the perfect place to see the beautiful view of the Atlantic. The beach in front of the home is sandy and gorgeous. The path down to the beach is very, very steep. It wouldn't be easy for someone with mobility issues. However, when the pool is completed, it will be just a short walk from the home.

Perry, the caretaker, was incredibly responsive. He checked on us a few times and helped very quickly when we had a problem with the water in the home--he was there and had in fixed within half an hour!

We were appreciative of the fresh flowers and wine and lasagna that were waiting in the home upon our arrival. These little touches signal how detailed the owners and the staff are.

This was our 6th trip to the island and the first for the friends that joined us. We were all impressed with Tourmaline!

Beautiful, well-equipped, and carefully tended.

  • 5 of 5

Tourmaline is high on a hill overlooking the Atlantic giving every window and the deck fabulous views. The house is comfortable and decorated with white furniture and bright colored accents. Every cozy chair and couch has an adjoining lamp. The access to the beach is a steep climb but well worth the effort. There are not many houses on this stretch of beach so we were often alone enjoying the pink sand and turquoise water. There are two lovely bedrooms adequate for adults and one that is better suited for small children. It is very small with bunk beds. The kitchen is large with plenty of counter space. It is very well-equipped.

We had a wonderful vacation at Tourmaline!

Spacious and airy home with an amazing view and an amazing beach!

  • 5 of 5

Eleuthera is a fantastic place to explore beaches, the settlements, the restaurants and to get to know the friendliest folk anywhere. But Tourmaline makes it difficult simply because you may not want to leave the house and it's stunning environs! I'll start with what I think is really special about Tourmaline and that's the beach right in front of the house. It's one of the nicest on the island and it's just steps down a sandy path and some steps. It's private and really stunning with some shade and beautiful clean pink sand. There's even some OK snorkeling right out front. We were still discovering the island so were out exploring a bit but you could easily simply stay at the house and that beach and be perfectly happy.

The house itself was complete in every way so I won't go into all the amenities but I will say that the house is designed with the right amount outside sunny spots, shady spots, outdoor shower, clothes line (there's a dryer of course but we like to hang our clothes in the sun). The decor inside is really lovely and the white frames the amazing blue of the ocean from so many windows. The master bedroom upstairs is quite nice and the view again is fantastic.

You can not go wrong spending time at this home. Soon there will be a pool as well that will have perhaps the nicest view of any pool anywhere!

Best View EVER!

  • 5 of 5

Tourmaline was a spectacular place to stay. For us, the up high view of the gorgeous water was stunning. The roar of the ocean puts you to sleep each night. The beach in front is super nice, but we walked about 1/2 mile North just past some rocks and the lack of coral in the water made it great for riding the surf. Many nights you could see the cruise ships passing and it brought back great memories for us as cruisers. We were all over the island from North to South and the Atlantic side has it for view and sandy beaches. The Caribbean side is more rock than sand. Harbor Island has a great beach near Sip Sip restaurant, but they don't have the higher elevation like Tourmaline. If you love that turquoise and blue view of the water, this is the place.
